"Anastasia, if you go to Harper Foster, she can help you where to drop off those files," Mr. Havens said to me after he told me I was going to deliver files for him.
"Oh okay, thanks!" I said and walked out of his office. I managed not to screw anything else up the past few days.
I went up to Harper, and I asked her where to drop off the files. The problem was I couldn't understand a word she said. "I'm sorry can you repeat that?" I asked her. Harper re-explained, and I still didn't get it. All I did was make out two places of what she said. Now I had to run errands, and drop off the files in two places, but the problem was which files went where?
"Hey Dante, do you know where these files go?" I asked him.
"No. Did you ask Harper?" Dante said.
"I did, but I can't understand her. The only thing I understood was two places, but I don't know which files go where." I frowned, looking at the files.
"Did you ask her to repeat what she said?" He rolled his eyes.
"Yeah." I said slowly, wincing.
He chuckled. "Well, sorry, I can't help you there." He shrugged.
I bit my lip nervously, and went to drop the files off in the two places anyways. It's a 50/50 chance this will be wrong. If so how bad could it be? I can always come get it later and switch them.
I came back, and sat down at my desk. For the first time since I came here, I felt accomplished, and proud of myself.

A few minutes later, Mr. Havens came out of his office and exclaimed, "Anastasia Marks!" and marched right up to me.
Uh-oh that doesn't sound good.
"Y-yes Mr. Havens?" I said with a shaky voice, slowly turning around.
"Are you out of your mind?!" He glared.
"What are you talking about?" I blinked, giving him a confused look.
"You gave the businesses the wrong files, and if it went into the wrong hands then it could have cost our whole entire business!"
I never seen him look so mad. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"
"All you had to do was go to Harper, and let her explain where the files go, and to drop them off." He continued to glare.
"I did go to her, but I didn't understand a word of what she said-"
"So you didn't ask?" His face was red of fury.
"Um-"
"You need to stop screwing up. Get back to work." He stomped off into his office.
I sat there numbly, feeling shocked. The last thing I wanted to do was to disappoint my boss but I sure did...again. I went back to my desk and, sat down, feeling ashamed.
"You could be fired any second now," Dante warned me. "And it's only your first week."
I closed my eyes, sighing. "I know. I really screwed up this time. I don't know how I'll make it up to him." I went on to do my work. I didn't even tell him about the ice cream incident.
After a while, it was lunch break. "Hey Dante, where are you going for lunch?" I asked.
"Going to Luigi's with Mr. Havens and Sanjay. We love that place," he replied.
"Oh. Is it okay if I join?"

He paused, and thought about it. "I guess it's fine."
"I want to tell you a secret." I grinned.
"Oh boy." He groaned.
"I really like Mr. Havens."
"Uh what?! Why are you telling me this?" He gave me a weird look.
"Well there's no one else to tell. Have you seen him?"
"I have a wife and two kids. I don't need to see him. Please don't use me for your girl talk. I'm a forty year old man." He gave me a stern look.
"But you know him. What kind of girls does he like?" I gave him a curious look.
"Mature, responsible, serious ones. Basically the opposite of you." He chuckled.
I had my arms crossed. "Hey, I'm not that bad." I scoffed, giving him an annoyed look.
Dante gave me a look.
I sighed. "Okay, fine, you got a point there. But if I eat lunch with you all, then I can prove to him how mature, and responsible I can be."
"Okay, let's see then." He smirked.
Dante, Sanjay, Mr. Havens, and I went to Luigi's. We sat down at a table after waiting for ten minutes.
"Look who decided to join," Mr. Havens mumbled, glaring at me.
"This place is really good," I said, ignoring his remark and smiling. I definitely didn't want to make anything worse than it already was.
Mr. Havens didn't say anything else to me.
The waiter came to the table. "What would you all like to drink?" he said to us.
"Champagne," Mr. Havens said.
"Strawberry kiwi margarita," I said.
"Beer," Dante said.
"Lemonade," Sanjay said.
"Lemonade?" Dante looked confused and laughed.
"Yes. I do not want to have any alcohol right now."
"Everytime is the time to have alcohol," I said gleefully. Mr. Havens, Dante, and Sanjay went silent, and gave me a weird look. "Not that I'm an alcoholic or anything!" I felt my face turn red. Great now I over spoke. They probably think I'm an alcoholic.
"Smooth," Dante mouthed to me. I rolled my eyes.
The waiter came back with the drinks. "Is everyone ready to order?" he asked.
We looked at each other, nodding our heads. "I'll have fettuccine chicken alfredo," Mr. Havens said.
"I will too," I said, hoping that somehow that would get me back to his good side.
"I'll have ravioli," Dante said.
"I'll have pizza," Sanjay said.
The waiter wrote down their orders. "Your food will be ready soon." He walked off.
A few minutes later, he came back and gave us our food. It all smelled delicious.
"This is so great," I said after swallowing a bite of my food.
"Yes it is. I have it all the time," Mr. Havens said and smiled. Is he actually smiling?
We sat there in silence, and ate their food.
The waiter came by, and said, "Any desserts?"
The guys shook their head but I said, "Yes, I'll have a cake to go please." I had to have my dessert.
After I got my cake, we paid, and left.
We walked out, and went back to work. "See? I knew it wasn't going to be that bad," I said to Dante.
Dante chuckled. "Well, you still have other days. Don't speak too soon," he said.
I rolled my eyes, and did files and phone calls the rest of the day.
