《Dear Diary, I Have a Mate》Chapter 29

Dear Diary,
I'm meeting with my mom today.
I just haven't told Ty yet because Isaac will also be there for a while.
No surprise here Diary but I need you to wish me more luck.
~Aria
I woke up and turned to see Ty still in a peaceful sleep. I smiled and pecked his lips. He smiled when I pulled away and then opened his eyes.
"What do you want?" he chuckled.
"Oh nothing," I sang while standing up.
I wasn't fast enough though because Ty grabbed my hand and yanked me back onto the bed.
"TY," I laughed.
"You expect me to believe you don't want anything?" he asked.
"You have to do whatever I say today," I reminded.
"I know babe," he laughed.
"So I command you to let me go," I ordered. He chuckled but then let me up.
"So you're actually going to have an easy day because I'm going to my mom's," I swiftly added while bouncing downstairs.
"Back up, what?" he asked while following me. I reached the kitchen and then turned back around to face him.
"I'm going to my mom's," I repeated.
"First it's not going to be an easy day, I'd rather you be bugging the hell out of me than for us to be apart, and second why did you think I'd be opposed to that?" he asked.
"I don't know you're weird and possessive," I reminded.
"I am not," he pouted.
"Wait for it, Isaac will be at the house," I added.
"No," he stated.
"That's what I thought so my mom and I are going out," I replied.
"Out?" he questioned.
"Yes to lunch," I smiled.
"Without Isaac?" he asked.
"Yes," I laughed.
"How are you getting there?" he groaned.
"Your car," I smiled.
"Come on, I'm your slave for the day I can drive you?" he pleaded.
"No," I stated like he had before.
He fake glared at me and then attacked my lips with his. I laughed and pushed at his chest.

"I have to go get ready," I added.
After I got on a nice summer dress and some sandals I headed downstairs.
"That's what you're wearing?" Ty asked.
"Does it not look good?" I asked while looking down.
"You look beautiful, but I don't want other guys," he started to say.
"Hush," I cut off.
"You're going right to lunch correct?" he asked. I looked up into his eyes and sighed, I can't lie to him.
"Ar?" he demanded.
"I'm going in to visit with Isaac and then my mom and I will leave," I replied.
"Visit?" he sighed.
"I don't like that either," Carter chimed in while popping out of nowhere.
"What the hell Carter," I groaned.
"I'm just saying that Isaac still likes you," he defended.
"That's not even true," I shouted.
"Stop," Ty demanded.
"Carter I know you feel protective of her but she doesn't understand so please go back to training," Ty ordered.
Protective? Carter has no right to tell me where I can't go! Neither does Ty for that matter.
"Don't be mad," Ty sighed.
"Don't tell me what to do and don't you dare tell me I don't understand," I shouted while walking by him and out the door.
"What do you want me to say Arrabella? Go ahead and see your mother that left you with that disgusting man, go see the guy that hit you, it kills me Aria. It kills me. I want you to have a relationship with your mother and I want you to able to go hangout with your old friend but something in here," he stated while pointing to his gut. "Is telling me this isn't a good idea," he reasoned.
"It's just my mom," I stated.
"Carter is a beta he naturally feels protective of you, and even he is getting a bad vibe I don't know if I can let you go," he replied.
"It's not up for debate," I replied while getting in the car and locking the door.
I had grabbed Ty's keys this morning because I knew this would happen. I knew Ty would do this.

He banged on the door and I didn't look him in the eyes I just started the car and drove off, this is one hell of an idea.
*********************
I pulled up to the house and thought about just turning around. I feel awful about my and Ty's fight. I mean this was our first big one.
I walked up to the house and knocked on the door.
My mom answered and gave me a welcoming smile.
"Hey," I greeted.
"Isaac actually isn't in right now, let's just go he'll be back when we get back," she smiled.
"Okay," I nodded.
I drove us to Olive Garden and we were seating waiting for our food to arrive.
"So when did you get your license?" my mom asked.
"Not that long ago, Ty helped me," I replied while looking down.
"What's the matter?" she asked.
"We had a fight," I sniffed.
"A fight?" she worriedly asked.
"Not a fist fight mom he's never laid a hand on me," I assured.
"What about?" she asked.
"It doesn't matter," I quickly replied.
"Alright," she sighed.
"Look I know you said dad made you go but why didn't you try harder?" I whispered.
"I wrote you a letter everyday when I was in there; they are in a chest at the house Isaac and I are renting. When we go back I want you to take them," she smiled.
"Why didn't you send them?" I asked.
"I had a no contact order with your father," she sighed.
I nodded.
We then talked about other things like summer and shopping.
I drove us back and walked in the house with her.
"Here take these on out," she replied while handing me a box of letters. I walked out and set them in the car.
I walked back in to see Isaac and my mother talking.
"Hey Ella," he smiled.
"Hi," I replied.
"You and Ty are in a fight?" he asked.
"Yeah but we will work it out," I confidently replied.
"I want to tell you something Ella," he stated while coming closer.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"I've always felt a pull towards you and I never knew what it was until now, I love you," he whispered.
"No, Ty loves me," I replied.
"Maybe he does but you and I are good together we have been since preschool," he stated.
I looked over his shoulder to see my mother had disappeared.
"Ty's never hit me," I replied harshly.
"I didn't mean to," he pleaded.
"Bye Isaac," I replied while turning around.
"No I won't lose you again," he yelled.
I felt someone pull me back and away from Isaac. I turned to see Ty. I slinked away from both of them and ran out and sat in the car.
Tyson was out about five seconds later. He started the car and drove I'm assuming we are headed home.
I didn't say anything I just stared out the window and focused on my breathing.
"Are you okay?" Ty asked while breaking the silence.
I nodded.
"Don't you dare give me the silent treatment," he demanded.
I nodded again.
"I wanted to let you go today, I could have stopped you, stood in front of the car. I let you drive off and I ran after you. I waited for you and then followed the car to the house, I was trying to give you your space and let you have this," he stated.
I nodded and let the tears slide down my cheek. The car stopped and I realized we were already back at the house.
"Come here baby," he soothed while unbuckling my seatbelt and pulling me onto his lap.
We sat like that for a while until my tears gave out and I slowly felt myself drifting away.

The Beta Test
Our nameless narrator participates in a beta test for an early VRMMO game Meridian 60. That's not the real name but it captures the spirit of the adventure given the chronological and contextual era of the game. His character is unique and special but purely for mundane reasons and not because of any inherent or social significance. The first chapter which is mandatory to submit a story on RR serves as a bit of a prologue with some exposition, although I limited that to a reasonble level. I plan to begin releasing additional chapters starting Thursday, to align with the 48 hour submission approval process and also because I have something to do Wednesday. I haven't written anything but the summary and first chapter, nor have I plotted anything out. This is because my plan is to release roughly 34000 words a day, 10 chapters of ~12.5 pages each, for 3 days at which point the story will be complete. I'd have liked to plan for more but handling the interface tables and so forth needed for a data heavy litrpg slows down the writing process. 100k words is a bit short, a standard pre epic fantasy 300 page spec fic novel, but this is mostly a writing exercise and I am considering a longer project if I can maintain the pace. Probably do a different concept, maybe a dungeon core, over 5 days, since a 500 page novel is more common these days. Slight subversion of VRMMO stories Stat heavy/crunchy No paying your bills by gaming No out of game conspiracies No angst, interpersonal drama, or damsels/dudes in distress Schedule is 30000 words a day excepting the first chapter, a limitation of RRs fiction submission system Fantasy, high magic, male lead, no party, guild, or harem No gore, some profanity, no sexual content, and no current plans for anything traumatic
