《The Alpha's Girl》Chapter 11

When I woke up, I was sore all over. I was still outside with the little city below me. Next to me was Chance, still fast asleep. His tail was curled around my body and his head was resting on his front paws. I groaned, which sounded more like a growl. Chance's ears perked up and his eyes shot open. He stood in defensive position and was taking in all his surroundings. When he realized that it was just me who made the noise, he laid back down on the ground,

Can we go back now? I asked, just wanting my human body back. I want to take a shower, get something to eat and sleep in a bed. By the looks of it, it was still early in the morning since the sun was just rising,

Sure, follow me back.

Chance stood up again and stretched. He then leaped into the air and began running into the trees that were behind us, I followed him, my paws smashing the flowers beneath me. Within ten minutes we had made it back to the London Wolves pack house. Nobody was outside, aside from the patrolling guards. Everyone was most likely still sleeping since it was a Saturday.

How do I change back?

Chance looked around. Let me get some clothes for the two of us. In trees near packs, there are usually clothes stored in the trunks of trees. So, if you ever need to shift back when in the woods, there will most likely always be clothes around for you. Once you shift back, you're naked.

If I was in my human form, I knew I would be blushing. Chance went behind a tree and when he came back, he was human and wearing a pair of basketball shorts. In his hands were a t-shirt and similar shorts to the ones he was wearing now. "So, what I tell the newly shifted wolves is to just shut your eyes and imagine yours. Imagine you're a human being. Just breathe and relax. Don't think of anything else but your human self. You will shift and it will hurt the first few times. When you get used to shifting, you won't even need to think, it'll just be instinct. Here, take these and go behind that tree. I'll be waiting her for you."

I put the clothes in my mouth and ran over the tree and stood behind it. I imagined myself with my short hair and average height. I pictured myself smiling and being with my family again. Within minutes I felt my bones cracking. I bit my lip in agony, trying not to let Chance know I was dying of pain again. When I reopened my eyes, I was standing naked. I quickly put the clothes on that Chance had given me.

Peeking around the tree, I saw Chance standing there. "What's wrong?"

Chance's head snapped up to mine, his eyes flashing yellow. "My wolf doesn't like when you're in pain. He wants me to go and comfort you but I know that I can't do that. I told him you need privacy and that you're fine because everyone new wolf goes through this. My wolf cares for you a lot."

Chance always makes it sound like his wolf is the only one that cares about me and not him. Ignoring the weird feeling in my chest, I started walking toward Chance. "Could I shower? I need sleep and a shower. I feel really sore."

Chance nodded, leading me into the pack house. "Of course. There's a bathroom in my room and our bags are still in there from last night."

Chance led me up the stairs and to his room. I took some fresh clothes from my bag and went into the bathroom. I started up the shower and waited for the bathroom to become steam before getting in. I let the hot water stream down my body, soothing my aching muscles.

While in the shower, my thoughts went to my wolf. Could she hear me? Was she like a second voice in my head? Or was Chance only messing with me?

Hello, Bailey.

I gasped, getting soap in my mouth.

I know it's shocking. I'm like another you. I'm a part of you. I have been since you were born. I have been waiting years for you and Chance to meet so that I could finally meet you. I can't wait until we can have Chance all to ourselves. I have been waiting for our mate for years.

I sighed, I don't want a mate.

Yes, you do want a mate. Deep down you know you want Chance. I need Chance's wolf in order to survive. I know what happened to you, Bailey. I was there through it all even though you couldn't sense me or talk to me, I was there. I wanted to comfort you through it all but I couldn't. We cannot survive without Chance and his wolf. I will slowly die from heartbreak if you keep us apart. The Moon Goddess paired us up for a reason. I know we are late boomers but please, give them a chance, they both mean best.

I sighed again, getting tired of these voices. I blocked out my wolf's voice and continued pondering in the shower. Was Chance thinking about me too? Or was it only his wolf?

After spending a couple of days in London, Chance decided it was time for us to get back to the pack. I was back in the Black Wolves pack and I wasn't happy. I was miserable. I just wanted to see my family and my dogs. Chance is an asshole and won't let me see them. He doesn't even let me go out by myself in fear of my escaping again. Chance has two body guards following my every move. The only privacy I get is when I'm sleeping or in the bathroom.

The only person who has made this whole situation good is Hannah. Hannah is the Beta's mate. She's been my friend since I got here and we've been hanging out everyday ever since. Chance's Beta, Ryan, thinks that Hannah and I are long lost sisters.

"I'm bored." I said, plopping myself down on the bed next to Hannah.

"Me too. We should do something crazy."

I laughed, knowing that we aren't allowed to do anything. Since I'm on lockdown, Hannah is too. It's her choice though, to spend it with me. "You can do something crazy. You know I can't leave. I can't get rid of those two idiots outside the door."

Hannah smirked. "Or can you?"

Hannah and I had gotten even closer when I came back from London. She was here helping me learn the ropes of the pack and the werewolf community. She was giving me a crash course of everything she had learned over the years. She informed me of the werewolf council, or the elders, who rule over everyone. They are above the Alpha's. The govern the wolves and make laws. A law that has stuck with me is that if your mate with someone who isn't your mate, you are subject to exile or the death penalty. It was crazy in my opinion because you can't help who you love.

I looked over at Hannah, my head near leaving the pillow. "Enlighten me."

Hannah sat up, crossing her legs and I followed suit. "You tell the two idiots that Chance linked you saying there was an emergency and that he needed their help. Once they leave, we can escape the pack house and go to your house or something or even go into town and get some food."

I shrugged my shoulders. "What's the worst that can happen?"

Hannah was smiling very big. "Exactly."

I stood and opened the bedroom door. Both of the idiots looked at me and I acted like I was getting mind linked right now. "Oh god, Joe, James, Chance needs you two. He just linked me and said there was a breach on the west boarder."

The two of them looked at one another. Joe didn't look convinced "He would have just linked us, Luna."

Tsk tsk, this isn't going to end well. I heard my wolf say.

I shook my head frantically. "No! This is serious. I am your Luna, why would I lie to you?"

Joe and James hesitated. "Alright, Luna, but please don't leave the pack house."

"I would never."

The two of them took off running and when they were out of sight, Hannah and I ran outside and shifted. We ran into the woods, on the opposite side and went into town.

An hour had passed and Hannah and I were enjoying ourselves at Waffle House. Chance was screaming through both of our mind links and Hannah taught me how to block him out.

"These waffles are really good." I said, stuffing my third waffle into my mouth.

Hannah smiled, pouring more syrup onto hers. "Well, this is what they're known for here."

I laughed. "How much trouble are we going to get in?"

Hannah's smile disappeared. "A lot of trouble. I didn't think they would be this angry. Don't worry, I'll take all of the blame."

I frowned. "No, I took part in this as much as you did. We're both going down, aren't we?"

Before Hannah could respond, the doors to the diner opened and in walked a very angry Alpha.

Oh shit.
