Anna sat in her room listening to music through her ipod. Keeping the sound turned down low as she didn't want to upset him with the noise if he came home without her knowing.

Her phone rang and nervously she jumped at the sound. A sigh of relief escaped her mouth when she read the name on the caller display. Dad.

"Hey Dad"

"Hey pumpkin. How's things going?"

She was sure by the tone he wanted to know if she'd accepted the idea of marriage.

"I don't want to do it."

The pause on the other end of the line seemed like minutes while in truth it was mere seconds.

"Anna, it's for the best. Please believe me honey..."

"I will marry him Dad, I have no choice... but I will never forget how you stabbed me in the back with this."

"Please sweetheart. I know you're confused but..."

"Yes Dad. I'm confused. I'm angry. I'm hurt. I never thought you'd do this to me."

"He's a good man Anna." Her father tried to placate her.

"In whose eyes?"

"Anna... are you all right? You don't sound like yourself. Sweetheart what's going on?"

She sighed. This was an argument she had no energy for.

"Are you eating Anna?" This was a major concern of his.

"Yes Dad."

"Talk to me Anna! I can't help if I..."

"Dad. Enough. I'm fine. There's nothing wrong" well that a gun wouldn't fix "As for talking, well I guess we'll do that when I know the truth of why you arranged this marriage."

"It's not something we can talk about over the phone swee..."

"Then why didn't you tell me before you left?" snarling the words at her father she wanted nothing more than to punch him.

"It wasn't the right time to tell you Anna. I needed more information. Please Anna, trust me..."

"I can't" she sighed "you made a decision, a major decision, about my life without talking to me. You set me up to marry a man twice my age knowing my fears. You know what happened and still you think you're you did this for me?"

"Anna.. I promise I didn't make this decision lightly. I wish it could be different, I really do. I'll be home next Saturday Anna, we can talk then."

"Sure Dad, no worries at all" sarcasm laced her words "you'll come home on the day my life is ruined forever."

"Anna! I didn't do this to ruin you!"

"Of course you didn't Dad. You wouldn't ruin me. After all, you already know what I've been through so why would you expect me to do something that changes my life forever? Bye Dad."

She hung up from him and threw herself on her bed in tears. Sobbing painfully.

Damon pushed himself away from the wall outside her room with a frown on his face. There was something very wrong with this scenario and he was pissed off not knowing what it was. The way she spoke to her father it was obvious there was secrets he didn't know about but planned to find out. What the fuck did she mean by saying that?
