《Tale of the mage hero [Completed]》The Empath

I sigh. "Well anyway we should get going~! Gotta go see if the new weapons have been smithed and our equipment repaired." Sheri smiles at us brightly. "Well I won't keep you any longer then! Please do take care of yourself and don't be a stranger."
"I will momma 2.0. Be sure to stay healthy. And if you need a hand don't hesitate to ask us! We'll do most anything for tasty treats!" She giggles as we walk out the front doors. We're walking down the street when Damien voice stops us.
"WAIT!" He shouted. He caught up to us breathing heavily. "Take me with you." I stare. "Wot?" "Take me with you to fight the waves! I need to become strong to protect my Mom! Sure I love to help her out, but I always wanted to go on an adventure! I'm really strong and smart. I'll make food and gather info and herbs. Plus I'm a really good haggler. I'll really help a lot!"
I thought about it. He's right, I'm not great at haggling nor can I understand how money works in terms of pricing and such. And I'm gonna need the help because the danger level from here on out is gonna be off the charts. I have to admit, I'm a little scared. This isn't a fairy tale. It's a nightmare waiting to swallow innocence whole and spit out the weak and unworthy... speaking of unworthy, I'm the only hero summoned that hasn't saved anyone.
That's right... I'm the weak one. Weak of heart and soul. I always felt on others and abuse them without a care. I can't control that part of me. I never could. My cruel, cowardly, weak, lazy, repulsive, impulsive self. I can't recall ever saving anyone. I doubt that's just because of my memory problems.

Even now that I've come here, I've squandered my chances and opportunities. I could've saved naofumi. So why didn't I? Why did I sleep in so late? I'm a failure. I'm a failure..... failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure failure FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE!!!!!!

"ALYSS!!!" I am pulled out of my thoughts by the sound of Grimms voice and the feeling of a strange warmth. It was comforting. Like a calming breeze under the warm sun. I opened my eyes to see Damien staring at me with tears in his eyes. I sit up and look around realizing we're at the weapons shop.
They explained to me that I suddenly went into a catonic state and they rushed me to the weapons shop as it was the closest shop nearby that I was comfortable in as the bakery was way farther at that point. They explained how Damien put his hands on the side of my face and touched our foreheads together quieting me down.

I didn't need to hear anything else. I knew what Damien was, what he had done. "Empath. You're an Empath aren't you?" I say to damien while everyone looks either surprised or satisfied as some had probably already figured that may be the case.
"Yes, I am. I heard rumors about you. People said you were mentally unstable and sociopathic... because of my powers I was treated like a freak by others because I too, was unstable and awkward. I couldn't control this power so I could feel too many emotions and the only one to help me were spirits and mom. They saved me from drowning amongst the voices. To me, they were my heroes. I wanted to use my power to help lift others up like a true hero." He said with a stern face.
"But why me? If you heard that I wasn't stable then why? You could've gone with any of the other heroes so why?" I said with tears in my eyes. "Because the spirits said the others weren't true heroes. They don't care about us or this world aside from the shield. And he's on a downward spiral. They said that you and him were my key to being someone's hero. So let me help you! I want to help you. I want to be your mental and emotional support. I'm not great at fighting, but no one knows the land better than I! With the help of the spirits I can make your job easier. So please, let me help you!" I nodded happily. I didn't need anymore reason to take him with me. He's sincere, and he's willing.
I just hope I don't disappoint him. That's what I hate more than anything. Being a disappointment. "But what about your mother? Who will help her run the store and stay healthy?" His smile brightened. "Don't worry! I already got some spirits to agree to take care of her. They're really nice and love our sweets. Say hello to Mara and Mora!" He gestures to two twins who appeared in a puff of smoke holding giant spoons.
"I'm mara." The left says emotionlessly. "I'm Mora! It's nice to meet you!" The right one says with a cheesy grin and a preppy attitude. I smile back. "Its nice to meet you both!" We pick out Damiens armour with the girls help before they head back to the store. Damien ends up getting some unique stuff.
(The claws)
I was surprised at his weapon choice but then again, don't judge a book by its cover right? I also got myself a new weapon... TIS A SWORD! VWALAH!
It was made of obsidian ore and ruby crystal. They weren't hard to fine because of magic but the price for it being made was.... PHENOMENAL. it was worth it though. Now I can be a sword mage! This will be perfect. Now I just gotta keep it a secret until the time is right...
"Let's go see how Naofumi's doing..."
"Actually maho girl he went to the mountains for magic thread..."

Where did I wake up?
A pretty standard story about a man that gets transferred to a new world, and gains a system to help him survive. This is pretty close to the first draft of this story, so there will be grammar mistakes until I get down to fixing them. Synopsis, genre and tags will also change as I get more writing done. I will try to release two to three short chapters a week. I don't own the cover image; it is just something I found online.

The Struggles of Dating a Demon [Completed]
Mabel's boss dabbled in awfully questionable business for the owner of an herb store, and she never blinked when he had suspicious-looking visitors. On one particular Sunday, though, Mabel couldn't help but watch the man leaving Herman's office with a critical eye. It wasn't his impressive height, dark eyes, or shaggy hair that kept her curiosity piqued.Instead, it was the way the shadows seemed to collect around him, dancing under his feet as he walked and vanishing abruptly as soon as the door shut behind him. *****"Do not call me 'Death,' Little One." He reached a hand down to help her up, but Mabel swatted it away, standing on her own and scowling. "Don't call me 'Little One,' Death." She fired back, crossing her arms and straightening her back to look taller. "And, besides, you're the one who told me your name was Death, so what else am I supposed to call you?" The raspy growl that rolled from his throat didn't sound anything like a chuckle, but the slight smile on his face told her otherwise. "Aleron." ******He brings death to those deemed wicked, but sees her as an angel and vows that nothing will harm her under his watch.Highest Ranks: #1 in Littleone 8/7/2019#1 in Mystical 8/25/20; 9/2/20; 9/11/20; 6/13/21#1 in Mythical 9/25/20#1 in Devil 5/16/21#1 in Heaven 5/20/21#4 in Paranormal 8/25/20#1 in demon 8/7/22
