She felt someone came there and frowned, she told them to leave her alone but they won't listen.
"Guys I told you to leave me alone... I just need time... You!!!"
She turned around with a glare on her face but then gasped in shock as she looked at the person standing behind her with two mugs of coffee.
"Hey...,"
The person waved at her with the mugs in hand or tried to but Mannat was too shock to say anything.
Mannat gulped as she quickly stands up to go back when the person stopped her by blocking her way.
"Look I know I am one of the last person you wanted to see or talk but please... I wanted to say something... Please,"
Mannat didn't know how to answer that. She just wanted to run away and never look back.
She wanted to sit here in peace, having a chit-chat and coffee with her husband's second wife is not on her list neither her agenda for tonight.
"Please Mannat... I swear I am not like those vamps who are mean and bitchy to the heroine and they treat them like dirt... Please just one coffee... I won't stop you if you don't feel comfortable or after your coffee finish... Also I make a mean cup of coffee with a hint of hot chocolate... That I know you will so please,"
Sanam keeps rambling and Mannat was more confused.
She didn't want to do anything with her or Murad but Sanam never gives her any reason to hate her except her being his wife.
"Why?"
Sanam looked at her with an innocent look and tears in her eyes that increase Mannat curiosity.
"I just wanted to say few things... They are burdening me and I wanted to get them off my chest before doing the right thing,"
Mannat sighed as she nodded her head and signaled to the bench mumbling to herself making Sanam giggled at her words.
"Ok... We can talk... Jannat will kill me if she finds out... Ugh, I hate life,"
"You and me both... Thanks for not running away from me... And I understand Jannat hate... I am not her favorite person on the earth... Yeah, Murad too,"
Mannat tries to give a weak smile to her but then looked ahead.
Sanam was biting on her lip as she sat on the other side of the bench with Mannat and the tray between them.
"This is awkward...,"
Sanam mumbled as she looked at Mannat with a nervous smile. Mannat nodded her head but keep her silence.
"Coffee...,"
"Thanks...,"
They keep sitting like that for a whole minute when Sanam turned around to look at Mannat.
"Ok... So when I planned this... I never thought about the awkwardness... It's so awkward...,"

Mannat wanted to laugh at her words but her body didn't have the energy so she just nodded.
"Ok... I... I don't know where to start... I mean you know me... But not me... first I wanted to say something I was trying for days... You are a very beautiful woman Mannat... The best I have ever seen... Same for your twin but you have this aura around you... I loved it,"
Mannat almost choked on her coffee, she was expecting bitching and 'he is mine, stay away from him' speech.
She was not expecting compliments from Sanam.
"Thanks, I guess... You are pretty too,"
"I am just ok... I mean yeah I have a good body thanks to my Latina mother genes but yeah that all about me... But you are beautiful inside and out... I am sorry if I am shocking you with the lack of bitchiness you are expecting but like I said before I am not like that... I like to talk... I can talk all day but I talk ten times when I am nervous... I think I am nervous,"
Mannat finally gave in as a small but hearty giggle left her mouth and Sanam was smiling.
"Aww... I made you smile... I am so proud,"
"You are nice Sanam...,"
Sanam smiled but Mannat then looked at her with curiosity that made Sanam gulp in nervousness and fear.
"What with that look? You are scaring me...,"
"I am just curious what do you want to talk with me... I mean you are not here for my entertainment after your husband waved the divorce papers in front of me a few hours ago,"
Mannat can't stop the bitter tone and regret it as soon it left her mouth.
Sanam snorted at those words getting her attention.
"He is a stupid man I tell you... He need help with some brain doctor or a brand new brain... That man can run any company but he is dumb when it comes to life and relations,"
Mannat was looking at her with shock in her eyes, Sanam rolled her eyes and sip her coffee.
"Don't get too shocked... He is a good man... I know but he is equally stupid... I know you wanted to say the same but you are being polite,"
"You are blunt...,"
"You are cute...,"
Mannat rolled her eyes and sip the delicious coffee.
She thought it will be awkward and end with fist fighting and more heartbreak but she is relaxed.
"And to answer your question... I wanted to talk with you... If I wait for Murad and keep silent while he ruins everything... It will be selfish of me... I don't want that to happen,"
Mannat looked at the woman who her husband calls his wife.
She can see why he choose her, she is beautiful, funny, bold and most of all she is his choice, not forced on him.
"He made his choice Sanam... He is happy with you and I will not take that away from him...,"
Sanam again scoffed then snorted in an unladylike fashion, making Mannat raised her eyebrows at her.
"Yeah, I know how happy he is... He can fool anyone... He is smart to mask his emotions but stupid to ruin everything...,"
"Why do you keep saying that? He married you and he was giving his name to you... Why are you not happy?"
Mannat felt irritation, why this woman was so ungrateful. She had all that her heart desired for years and she is not happy.

"Look Mannat... I know you will think I am some ungrateful bitch... But I don't want happy by ruining yours,"
Mannat shook her head, she doesn't need pity from anyone.
"I don't need your pity, Sanam... He made his choice and I made mine... So please don't feel guilty and live your life with him,"
"Ugh!!! You both are equally stubborn and stupid... he was ruining everything and you are letting him Mannat... Just like all those years ago when he was running away and you let him... Don't repeat it... don't give up on your love again,"
Mannat was hit hard by her words, she was right. Mannat was equally at fault for Murad's doings. But she will not break in front of Sanam, as she shook her head in denial.
"I don't love him...,"
Mannat was going to get up when
Sanam's words shocked her.
"Don't lie to yourself Mannat... I know the pain love caused... I know the pain of waiting... Muntazir rehne Ka dard... I have experienced it... I know it when I see it,"
(The pain of waiting)
Mannat sat back down as she looked at her with glossy eyes, Sanam also had tears in her eyes but she looked ahead to the starry night sky.
"Murad?"
The question was incomplete but Sanam shook her head. Mannat was now frowning, if not for Murad then who?
"Ok let me tell you a story... Will you listen to me?"
Mannat nodded her head and Sanam gives her a watery smile and lean back on the bench sighing.
"I was five when my father died, my mother then got hooked into drugs and bad stuff, she was not Muslim... My father was... she was drunk or high all day. I was crying for my father I lost and the mother I didn't have... I was alive on stale bread crumbs or starving for days... Then the abuse started...,"
Mannat gasped at her words but didn't interrupt her.
"She will hit me at first but then it was full beating with blood and gashes... After one year of torture... My neighbor one day called cops and I was rescued because my mother overdose and die,"
"Allah miyan,"
"I know sad... But I was relieved... I was thrown in various foster houses that had the same people... No constant house... I was taught from my childhood to grab the available opportunities because we rarely get one,"
"I got my high school degree after a struggle and then I found a temporary job, moving around and struggling... I won't lie... I am not the best Muslim but I tried my best to but life is not good... I had to do the weird jobs, really bad ones... I won't tell you because then you will hate me and feel disgusted but we have to do something for survival in this world,"
"After two years of bad jobs and hard life, I found him...,"
She took a deep breath and looked at Mannat who was looking confused but quickly look away.
"Murad?"
"God... No... He was my best and worst mistake... Adil... I meet him one day at the grocery store, it's love at first sight... Long story short... We fell in love and he was my fiancée till last year,"
"Is he?"
"No... Allah forbids... He is alive... I hope he is... I don't know...,"
"What happened?"
Mannat was so curious to know that she forgets all about Sonia being her husband's second wife and all.
"One day... I came back from my work and went to his house but didn't find him at home... I called him but nothing, his clothes were not there, his other stuff was gone too. His landlord saying that he pays his dues and went god's know where,"
"It was so devastating for me... I was hurt and heartbroken but most of all alone... All over again... The worst time of my life... That's when I meet Murad,"
Mannat shifted uncomfortably on his name, she gulped but still listen not wanting to be rude.
"He was a good man, handsome, gorgeous and kind... But I was heartbroken at that time... He offered a job to me as his assistant... I accept it because I need it to survive like always. He helped me a lot in my roughest time... Then we become friends... Then he told me about his life and everything... He became my support system,"
Mannat didn't want to hear more, she wants to run away but her body was not moving. Sonia looked at her and said the next words.
"My life was very unpredictable... I was struggling a few months ago because another problem rises... That's when I tried suicide,"
"What!!!??"
Mannat yelled shocking Sanam who smiles at her guiltily. Mannat slapped the backside of her head in anger.
"Don't do it again... even when life is hard... Don't give up, there is someone in the world who loved you and waiting for you... So don't,"
Sanam smiled at her that irritates Mannat more as she glared at her.
"He said the same...,"
It's now Mannat turn to look like a gaping fish. While Sanam chuckled at her as she told her about Murad saying the same thing.
"You are so cute... So as I was saying... I tried finishing myself but my friend save me and Murad was still helping me morally... He proposed we get married and I did accept it... You know grab the opportunity when it comes... That thought was revolving in my mind... After one month he told me that he wanted me to go back home with him...,"
"I was so indebted to him... I still am... I am very grateful to that man that I immediately agreed to it without thinking about anyone else... Even when I know about his messed-up life... I complicate it more... I am sorry Mannat... I really am... I am sorry and guilty... please forgive me,"
She joined her hand in front of Mannat who was dumbstruck at her place. She can't move or say anything.
His 'wife' was here confessing everything to her after he gives the divorce paper to her. She holds Sonia's hand and shook her head.
"Don't please... I am not mad at you... It's just the time and situation is not good,"
Sanam nodded her head as she looked down her lap but Mannat next question shocked her.
"Do you love him?"
"Who?"
"Aah... mmm... Murad?"
Sanam sighed as she holds Mannat hand and turns to her side.
"Mannat I don't love Murad... I care about him yeah... But I don't love him... I know you are confused... But it's how life made me... I saw a good opportunity for protection and security when he proposed so I said yes to him immediately... I know it's selfish of me but that's how I have been living for years... I still love the man who left me a year ago,"
"Why?"
Sanam chuckled at her question, her voice was not happy it was heavy with sadness.
"I think you know the answer...,"
Mannat looked down on her lap at her words, she knew the meaning behind her words but she will not accept them.
"I have loved him for years Mannat... I kept waiting for him to come back even if it means to leave me again... I still love him and waiting for him,"
Mannat observed her face and her eyes widened suddenly making Sanam frown.
"You found him,"
It was not a question, it's a statement that caught Sanam off the guard. She looked like a deer in headlights as she nodded with tears in her eyes.
"Yeah...,"
"When?"
"Last month... At the party... I got a call from the States... A friend of mine saw him in the hospital... He was admitted there for one year... He was fighting for his life... A battle with cancer and he has gone missing because he didn't want to hurt me in case he dies... I was so angry at him but now I know why he left me...,"
Mannat hugged her as Sanam cried at her shoulder. She can understand her pain, they both can.
Sanam pulled away as she looked at Mannat as they both had tears in their eyes.
"That's why you were crying that time...,"
Another statement was given by Mannat while Sanam nodded at her.
"I was hurt that he didn't tell me because he didn't want to break my heart but he did that either way,"
"I know how you feel Mannat... I know and thinking that I am also the reason for your pain is killing me... I know you think he is bad... But he is just hurt and it didn't give him any reason to create this ruckus but he was hurting... He is acting all macho man from outside but he is a kid inside all soft and kind. He just needs guidance and right love...,"
"You know... We, humans, had a weird mentality... We ran after something that didn't belong to us but ran away from something that was meant to be ours... we cried when someone hurt us but some of us bottle that hurt and anger and strike at the right time to hurt them with more intense anger and hurt... that is what Murad is doing... he is being immature but this is his defense... It's stupid if you asked me...,"
Mannat just keeps silent but then she raised her eyebrows at Sanam asking the question that got her.
"Why are you telling me this Sanam? I am happy that you are feeling good and all... But why now?"
Sanam smiled at her as she moved toward Mannat, placing her hand on her knee making Mannat gulp in anticipation.
"I wanted to right his wrongs... He was blinded by his anger and insecurities... The bottle-up anger of years and he was blinded by his pain that he endured alone... You have your family here but he was alone... Again I am not blaming you because that stupid man was equally at fault but put yourself in his shoes... I am his friend... It's my duty to guide him and show him the light...,"
Mannat was now getting more confused at her words. This girl can surely talk but Mannat is overwhelmed with emotions.
"Mannat I wanted to know something... Please be honest...,"
Mannat nodded at her and Sanam give her a nervous smile.
"Do you forgive me for my mistake? Do you forgive me for coming into your life? Because I really need this forgiveness... I need this desperately because I am equally at fault like Murad and I need this for what I planned to do... Also, will you be able to love him again?"
Mannat was astonished for a moment, she just keeps looking at her but then she squeezed Sanam's hand on her knee.
"I do... I forgive you...,"
Sanam smiled at her noticing how she dodged the last question carefully.
She got up and pecked Mannat forehead shocking her more, she mumbled something that causes her breath to hitch.
"I am so happy doll... Thank you for this... I am now relieved that my LORD will forgive me even when my sins are greater... I can't tell you everything Mannat... it's not my story to share... But know one thing he was never mine... He was not written in my fate... I am again sorry for everything... I will pray that you will find your happily ever after soon... You deserve love more than anyone in this world... Also I know... You never stop loving him... People can do that but this stupid heart can't... I hope you will find someone who will be your Muntazir... Even when I know who that be... Goodbye doll... Zindagi rahi tu phir milenge,"
(Will see you if life is kind again)
With that said, Sanam went away leaving Mannat in a trance.
She didn't know what to think. That's how she sat there and think about Sonia departing words.
"Why did it feel like another storm is coming? Why does it feel like this one will turn everything upside down? Please Allah miyan helps us... Please,"
She looked at the sky praying because Sonia's words shook her to the core. She gets up at dawn with the Fajar Azaan and prayed for her family.
"Please Allah miyan... Give us the strength to fight this bad time and please keep everyone safe,"

The next day Murad was out on business. He came to meet a client and have dinner.
He just finished the meeting and was going to have dinner when he gets a call from his home.
He frowned at Umer number on the screen and excuse himself. Umer just said one sentence to get his attention.
"Come home now... It's Sanam,"
He excuses his clients, apologizing, and ran to his car to get home.
He had troubled that woman enough, she was already struggling.
He was cursing him, breaking red signals, and almost getting into an accident. He finally reached home to see everyone in the living room.
He dashed toward them and looked around, they are all expressionless.
"Where is she?"
When no one said anything, he roared only to get a monologue as the answer.
"WHERE THE HELL IS SHE?"
"Gone,"
Umer looked at him with anger in his eyes, Murad was confused at his word.
"What do you mean gone?"
"She is not here... Her clothes are gone too...,"
Murad was shocked at the statement, he took a few moments to process it but then he turns his blazing eyes at Mannat who was numb sitting on the sofa with Hadiya beghum arms around her.
"You said something to hurt her... Didn't you? You are the one responsible if anything happens to her Mannat... I will kill...,"
