《Stranded》pt.6

After Bo left I went up to the room they had me in to get ready for the day. I called mom and told her everything. We talked for a good half hour while I did my hair and makeup. I picked out a less extreme outfit for today. Tiny towns like this are usually very religious and conservative. So just a casual bimbo look for today.

(The outfit)

"Yup this is one's doin numbers." I smile looking down at my clothes. "Ooh and I can put my leather jacket over it if I get cold!" I say before getting it out of my bag. As I pulled the jacket out a sound came from down stairs. My initial response was to jump up on top of the bed to protect my ankles. So here I am sitting on the bed listening carefully to whatever that sound could have been. "I've seen enough horror movies to know you don't go and check the noise." I mutter to myself. "Fuck I'm gonna have to aren't I?" With am exhausted groan I grab my hello kitty pocket knife from under the pillow. Quietly I get off the bed and walk over to the door. "Time for years of pent up anger issues to become useful.

Holding the pocket knife I click it open. Tip toeing down the hall to the steps I look down. "Bo? You forget something? Lester?" It was quiet. "Random racoon?" I question as I walk down the steps. Slowly I peak around the corner to the kitchen. Then let out the biggest sigh of relief ever. It was just a dog. I close the pocket knife and place it in my bra. "Hey hun, where'd you come from?" I chuckle and bend down to try and help the dog not feel threatened. Sticking out my hand I squat down. "Don't be scared, I'm not gonna hurt ya. Come here sweetheart." Making a soft waving motion with my hand the dog watches me. Slowly and cautiously it comes up to me. "That's it, come on, I don't bite. Really hopping you don't either." I say still holding my hand out. After taking a couple of sniffs of my hand the dog allows me to pet it.

"Aww, just a little sweetheart ain't ya." I smile scratching her ears. Looking at her collar I look for a name. (Idk if the dog is a girl or not but just roll with it.) "Rosie, hmm, little cliche but I like it." I chuckle. Just then my phone wrings from my pocket causing me to flinch. Rosie looks at me as I calm down and get up. Opening my phone I answer. "Hello?" "Hey, this (y/n)? It's Bo." Bo's voice comes through and I sigh. "Yeah, it's (y/n)." "Ok good, I'm at the store. What do ya need?" He asks as I kneel down on the floor to sit with the dog. Giving him a simple list of snacks and some essentials I continue to scratch behind Rosie's ear. "Your dog's a really sweetheart by the way. Found her in the kitchen." I chuckle and Bo does the same. "Yup that's our Rosie. Well if there isn't anything else you need." "Oh wait I forgot, where do you keep your cleaning supplies?" I ask. "Can I ask why you need them?" "Well I don't just wanna be here and not contribute to anything so I was thinking I'd clean up a little bit as a thank you." "Closet next to the room you're staying in." "Thanks Bo. Oh and grab me a pack of cigarettes, morbol lights 100s, if it's no problem." "I gotta grab some for myself anyway. Take care." We hang up on eachother and I get up off the floor.

"Lets atleast dust this place, maybe vacume." I tell Rosie and the two of us go up to the closet. Grabbing a broom, dust pan, duster, and vacuum I carefully bring it all down to the living room. Once I got started I had to hold in sneezes. Dust. I would have continued but I felt like if I did my allergies would kill me. As I tried to dust however I notices pictures. Little kid pictures. A bit dirty but they were adorable. The I saw one. A set of twins joined at the face and back if head. "Poor babies." My heart twinges and I shake it out.

"We can keep cleaning up in a little bit. I wanna check out that house of wax. Mind showing me the way?" I joke. Yeah I know she doesn't totally understand me but it just feels nice to talk to something. I go upstairs to grab my leather jacket and purse then come back down. "Kk Rosie, I'll be back in a couple minutes. Be good, don't eat my shoes." I wave as I walk out the door. The building was just a little down the road so I made it pretty quickly. I fiddled with my lighter in my pocket. Walking up onto the steps of of large building I look around. No closed sign. Something felt off though. "Hello? You open?" I ask peaking inside. No answer. "Maybe they went it to lunch or something." I reason with myself as I take a step inside. "Hi, I'm just gonna put some money on the desk. I'm not breaking in. Door was open." I say taking my wallet out my purse. Once I set about 15 bucks down I actually looked around.

Everything, litterally everything was made out of wax. It also looked as if no one had visited this place in a while. Quietly I walked around. The statues we each doing their own thing. "Gotta hand it to em, who ever did this is a great artist." I say to myself as I look around around. "Although I thought wax museums like this had famous people. Local models maybe?" Gently I touch the hand of one of the statues. "Smooth." I continue on. There were panting and small mermaid like figures. Picking up one of the figures that was of a half woman half gator creature I carefully turn it upside down. "Vincent. That's a pretty name. Who ever you are, you're very good at what you do." I set the figure down and continue to look around. There were news paper clippings framed around. "Trudy opens house of wax, Trudy's statues hit at state fair, Trudy and husband expecting first child." I read and nod in acknowledgement. "Go Trudy." I continue looking around and find a dinner scene. There were pig heads on the table along with other stuff. "Even the table cloth is made out of wax." That feeling of being watched picked at the hairs on the back of my neck. "Hello?" I ask looking around. "I know someone's there, I can hear you breathing." I lie. If someone was watching me I would rather have them semi scared of me. Glancing around the room I go back into the main room. Something moves out the corner of my eye and I hold onto the lighter in my pocket. "It's rude to just hide in the shadows." Quickly I turn around and jump. It was just Rosie. "You scared the shit out if me." I gasp my breath back. Her tail just wags and I smile going down to pet her. As I'm petting the dog something moves just out the corner of my eye.
