"good morning my dear girlfriend" gilbert says smiling. Gilbert's arms were tightly wrapped around you. he slowly let's go of you pressing a kiss onto your forehead.
"good morning" you say standing up "I'll make us breakfast" you say walking towards the kitchen still in your nightgown
"and gilbert? can we please keep our relationship a secret for a while? I don't want everyone to know yet and I wanna talk to Ruby first" you look at him
"sure" Gilbert says sitting down at the kitchen table.
"but can I please tell bash. He's been telling me to ask you out since the day we met you."
"but we only talked for like half an hour" you say chuckling.
"it doesn't take much time to fall in love with you." he smiles as you blush.
"how do you come up with these smooth replies" you say as you laugh.
"they just come to me naturally" he says with a smirk.
you nudge his shoulder and you both burst out laughing.
"thanks for letting me stay. I better get back now or Bash will get worried about me" Gilbert says chuckling.
you smile "I'll see you on monday?"
"yea. see you" he says. he pecks your lips and then walks out leaving you blushing.

It's monday morning and you're on your way to avonlea. it was snowing outside and you watched the small snowflakes fall onto the window. you worked the whole weekend so you were exhausted. when you got off the train you saw Gilbert waiting for you. your heart flutters as you walk up to him.
"What are you doing here? you ask smiling. you kiss his cheek.
"I'm walking you to school" He says as he takes your hand.
"alright then" you say giggling. the walk was quiet. the only sound being the crunching snow underneath your feet. when you approach the school you slowly let go of his hand. Gilbert stops walking and looks at you a little disappointed.

"don't look at me like that. I just don't want people to know yet." you say with a small smile.
"sorry" he says.
"it's fine, come on we don't wanna be late."
you walk in and quickly take of your hat and coat. the only seat that's still free is next to Ruby.
"hey Ruby" you say giving her a small smile.
she looks the other way and stays quiet. you decide to just let it go.you felt really guilty you hoping she would never have to find out, but you knew you couldn't keep your relationship a secret forever.
you sit down and stare at Gilbert for almost the whole lesson.
at lunch you walk over to Anne and Diana sitting in a corner.
"I'm exhausted" you say sitting down next to them.
"why's that?" Anne asks.
"I had to work all weekend" you sigh
"I thought you liked working" Diana asks.
"I do but I was a little stressed I had a lot of customers"
"I saw you walking in with Gilbert this morning" Diana says smirking
"what's going on between you two" Anne asks giggling.
"I- nothing really." you lie. you look at the floor trying to hide that your blushing but you fail.
"you're blushing!" Anne yells
"shhh" you say and look around.
"I promise it's nothing"
*
after school you grab your coat and hat and head outside. you feel someone take your hand. you turn around to see a smiling Gilbert
"are you walking me to the station again?" you ask smiling back at him
"oh. I was wondering if you wanted to stay over again." Gilbert says looking at the floor.
"people will notice" you say
"I don't care." he smiles softly.
"well I do" you say letting go of his hand. you take a deep breath and look at Gilbert's puppy dog eyes "alright I'll stay over." you look around and quickly kiss his cheek.

he blushes slightly and a grin appears on his face. you start walking and when you're far enough from the schoolhouse you take Gilbert's hand and intertwine your fingers. he smiles at you and softly squeezes your hand. you both stay quiet for the whole walk. just enjoying eachothers company. you walk op to the front porch as Gilbert suddenly stops walking.
"wh-" you get cut off by him kissing you gently. you feel your whole body tingling again as he pulls you closer. you deepen the kiss by slightly parting your lips. after a few seconds you slowly pull away. you smile as you catch your breath.
"you're so beautiful" he says with a bright smile.
"you don't look too bad yourself Blythe" you say pulling his arm and walking inside.
"hi Sebastian!" you say
"hello" he says smiling at you and Gilbert.
"congratulations on your relationship. Gilbert has been dancing around the house lately"
"Bash!" Gilbert says, clearly embarrassed. you laugh. "thanks Bash" you say.
you and Gilbert sit down in the living room.
"I have to do some work" you say "I hope you don't mind"
"ohw" he says pouting. he looks like a cute little puppy dog.
you nudge his shoulder and chuckle.
you start working and Gilbert starts tickling you out of nowhere.
"Gilbert stop! what are you doing!?" you say laughing.
"I missed you this weekend y/n" Gilbert says
"I missed you too" you say while you put away your work and lay your head on his shoulder
"I'm so glad I asked you out"
he kisses you on your forehead.
"I'm glad you did too" you say pecking his lips.
he smiles and pulls you closer. you cuddle up to him as he plays with your hair, a fuzzy feeling in your stomach.

Synergy
Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!

Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image
