Authors Note: Hope you guys had a good Mother's Day.

I should be happy. I don't understand. Jeanette and I haven't fought for at least a month and a half. I should be celebrating. But instead I'm in my office feeling uneasy about my blackmailers demands. Ever since it's started I've just been worrying.

What if today's the day that Jeanette some how finds out that I have been giving into demands of a complete lunatic.

It won't be good.

But there's nothing I can do. All I can do is hope for the best. Hope that Jeanette understands and she doesn't hold anything against me.

I was sat in my office tapping on my desk and contemplating what I would do about my situation. Then there was a knock on my door.

"Come in" I called out and then Heather came into the room. She looked nervous. Ever since Jeanette quit I made her know who was in charge. Every flirty comment was dismissed and every time she touched me, I threatened to send her to the unemployment line.

"Someone needs to see you right away" She said quietly.

"Tell Gordon that we have a meeting tomorrow and he can wait" I said annoyed. Gordon has been around my office more than I have. Everyday there is a new problem with construction. He even came to my house. Lucky I was there and made him go away. Jeanette was unaffected by his random invasion but I don't think its not a good sign. So I got some guards to protect her. Of course she was angry but it's what had to be done.

"No sir, its not him. It's a woman. Her name is Madison Night" She explained and when she said that my heart stopped. It was such a long time since I heard that name. I thought I would never hear it again, granted on the way we left things.... I didn't know whether to let her in or to turn her away. I was quiet for a few minutes. I leaned back in my chair and took a deep breathe.

"Let her in" I finally said and with that she left my office to go outside. Suddenly my nerves were getting to me. I didn't know what she was going to say and that made me anxious.

The door opened and my ex walked in. She stood in front of the door and left it open a crack.

Her blonde hair was cut to her shoulders and her eyes were still blue like the sky. She had a mild amount of make up on and she was wearing a blue tight dress. We didn't say anything to each other until she finally spoke.

"Michael" she said in a shaky hopeful voice. She was clutching her hand bag and there was a small smile on her face. It use to make me happy when she smiled at me but I didn't feel anything.

"Madison" I said as I cleared my voice.

"You look handsome as usual" she complimented me, in a warm voice and then took a step closer to my desk. I got tense.

"You look the same" I said plainly with narrow eyes. When I said this she looked at the ground and then tucked her hair behind her ear. She looked totally different. She looked like she had been through stuff. Beaten up and then raised back up again.

"Please sit" I offered and she walked over to the chair that was in front of my desk. She just starred at me with a longing look full of... maybe remorse?

I wasn't sure.

"I'm so happy to see you" she said as she put her purse down on my desk and then folded her hands.

"What do you want Madison" I asked, trying to convey a detached tone.

"I was in town" she simply said with a shrug.

"That doesn't explain why your sitting here. In my chair. In my building" I said very clearly.

She comes here flashing a smile at me like nothing happened. Like we were never broken up. And then she doesn't tell me why she's here. I didn't understand.

"I just wanted to see you" She said with a smile still engraved on her face.

"You could have looked up a picture" I said sharply.

"It wouldn't be the same" she said and then started to stand up.

"Madison, if you don't have a reason as to why your here, I suggest you leave." I said in a firm voice as I got up from the chair also. Then she started to walk around my desk to get to me and when she got to her destination, she leaned on the table facing me. She was so close to me and I didn't know what I felt. My emotions were mixed.

"Oh I have a reason. Remember when we were on spring break, freshman year of college, and we went to Mexico with a couple of friends" She reminded me.

"No" I said shortly.

"Oh how can you forget" she said quickly. And then she reached up and touched my collar with her hands.

"Madison-" I was about to tell her to not touch me but she interrupted me.

"Michael don't lie. That was the week you told me you loved me and that you always would." She said softly and then bit her lip slightly.

"I lied" I snapped as I moved her hands away from me and gave her a hard look. Her smile remained on her face and she leaned in closer to me.

"No you didn't. I know you better than anyone. I know you still love me and I love you. After all these years we still love each other baby." she said softly as she batted her eye lashes at me and then moved even closer.

"Get the fuck out" I yelled.

"I missed you. All these years apart and I kept wondering what could have been if I had said yes to your proposal. I should have said yes. I regret it everyday"

"Madison please! Don't you think this conversation is a little pass due? Where was this when we were together?" I spat and then moved away from her in anger. She broke up with me and now she thinks she can walk back in here like nothing happened. I wont stand for it. Not At all. And I couldn't hurt Jeanette more than I already have.

"Michael I was... I was-"

"You were what!"

"I was afraid. You were my first everything. I loved you with all my heart but I wasn't sure that I could be with you forever. I mean I had my whole life ahead of me. I was 22 for Christ sake."

"If you really wanted this to work, you wouldn't have said no and then left me. Its too late" I said in a harsh tone.

"Baby don't say that. I need you. I'm sure now. I promise." she begged and then a tear slid down her face.

"Madison I'm married"

"Yea. I saw"

"Then why did you come here."

"I saw you two kissing. The cute kissing in the magazines. When I saw those pictures it made me think about us. It made me think about what that woman stole from us. " she said, her voice filled with bitterness.

"That woman is my wife" I corrected sharply.

"I thought I was suppose to be your wife. I was suppose to be the woman at your side. Not her. You didn't even know her" she whispered into my ear.

"Madison" I said in a warning voice.

"No. I'm not going to let her ruin us. We were suppose to live happily ever after." she said firmly. And then she slammed into my lips and kissed me. At first I didn't do anything. I was processing with my eyes closed. Trying to see if I still had feelings for her. But I didn't feel anything. All I felt were her cold lips on mine. I opened my eyes and attempted to push her away but Heather opened the door unannounced.

"Oh. I'm sorry" she said and then shunned her eyes from what was in front of her. Quickly, I pushed Madison away and called security. They came up in what felt like seconds and they dragged Madison away. She was kicking, shouting, and screaming.

The last words I heard from her before she left was: "I WON'T GIVE UP ON US MICHAEL. I LOVE YOU. NOTHING WILL GET IN OUR WAY"

All day I was avoiding Heather as if she was plague. When she left my office she didn't say anything to me and I didn't say anything to her. I was even more paranoid now. What if she told Jeanette before I could? This whole day was a disaster. Now I have to worry about My blackmailer, Madison, and Heather.

After work I went home an hour early so Jeanette and I could get ready for Cindy's baby shower. I was still against the whole idea, but I couldn't say much. I saw Jeanette at the kitchen counter typing something on her laptop. I stood there for a while and I guess she could sense someone watching her because she glanced over her shoulder and when she saw me a soft smile touch her lips.

"Hey Michael" I said lightly as I went back to typing the email to my client.

"Jeanette" He said and then suddenly he spun me around in a hurry and slammed his soft lips against mine. The kiss was so intense that it caused me to forget everything I was doing. The contact tingled. I responded instantly and my hands went to squeeze his shoulders. He groaned and was about to take it farther.

Then I remembered we had a party to throw so I broke the kiss in hopes of stopping it but instead he started leaving a trail down my neck.

"Not that I don't love the affection... but what is this for" I laughed.

"Just because I love you" He said into my ear and then playfully bit my neck. That action made me want to continue this intimate moment, but we had a party throw.

"A hello would have sufficed" I moaned as I closed my eyed. I enjoyed the sensation but then he stopped and looked into my eyes.

"I'm crazy about you dimples." he whispered.

That made my heart flutter with happiness.

"Oh chuckles. Your so sappy." I teased and then I pulled him in for a short kiss.

"Hey can I ask you a question?" he said once we broke that quick kiss off.

"Sure"

"When you broke up with Adam, did you feel any regret?" He asked and I was completely thrown off.

That was unexpected.

"Why are you asking about Adam?"

"Just curious"

"...No I didn't feel any regret... I mean I was sad of course but I got over it after a few days"

"Did you ever think he was the one?"

"No. To me finding the one never existed." I said simply.

"Did you love him?"

"No more questions" I said shortly. Not in a rude way but I just wanted this conversation to be over. He was always ruining the mood.

"Why are you so resistant on answering them?" He asked confused.

"Because ever since we left Europe you have never talked about Adam until now... What brought this on?"

"Nothing" he said and then I raised an eyebrow at his response. I didn't believe him.

"Honestly nothing dimples. I just wanted to ask some questions. I was curious."he simply said.

"Okay... So I'm going back to Europe next week and I was thinking that you could come with me." I said changing the subject.

"Why?"

"My job interview. I scheduled it this month because I was going to Europe anyway" I explained and his facial expression changed to him being hesitant and maybe threatened.

"So you made your decision already?" he asked a little tense.

"No I have another three months to decide" and when I said that he was relaxed again.

"Great"

"You don't sound happy for me" I pointed out.

"I'm not jumping at the opportunity but it's what you want, so I want it to. I love you dimples and I'm just scared"

"Don't be scared. Nothing will change"

"Time apart is hard on a relationship"

"We'll make it work chuckles" I encouraged and then someone knocked on the door.

"Let me get that" I said and then I shut my computer and went to go get the door. Chuckles followed.

"Hey Baby" Cindy said with a loving smile as he eyes darted to Michael. I could have poked her eyes out but that would make me petty and kind of a criminal. So I just slapped on a polite smile.

"Jeanette" she said as she turned to me and the suddenly lunged at me. I was alarmed. I thought she was trying to start something but it was just a simply hug. Nothing devious. I glanced at Michael and his eyes were even wider than mine. After what felt like forever, she released me and stepped back. Words were not available to me for a while and then my brain started to work again.

"No name calling today? I'm shocked." I commented surprised.

"Well, I'm going to be a mother soon so I feel like I should be a bit kinder"

"I see" Michael said with narrow eyes.

"And for that I think we should toast. I have to drink water but I'll get two white wine glasses for you two." she said and was about to walk to the kitchen but Michael spoke.

"No it's-" he was about to say but she interrupted him.

"Really I've been a Grinch and I shouldn't have. I see that now and I want to make it up to you guys," she said with genuine remorse. Michael didn't have anything else to say after that so he just nodded. Then she looked at me for maybe confirmation and so I nodded as well. I didn't know what else to do. Then she walked to the kitchen while Michael and I were just standing in awe.

"She is acting very strange. She's never been this calm and I have known her for years" Michael said full of paranoia.

"Relax Chuckles. Maybe she is putting behind her bitchy ways or she went to see a therapist." I whispered, trying to calm him down. Then Cindy came back out with two glasses. I took my drink hesitantly. After I sipped it, I waited a few minutes and when I didn't die, I drank half. So did Michael.

After that weird event, the party started. Lots of random people were coming into the house. All semi nice women. I wasn't having fun but I wasn't having a bad time either. Cindy was nice to me and introduced me to her friends. When thirty minutes pasted Michael wasn't feeling good so he had to leave the party early. I was maintaining everything and soon it was time to open the gifts. There were a lot of ooo's and aww's and thank you's all around. Then a woman tapped me on the shoulder. She was a pretty blonde.

"Can I help you?" I asked the woman politely.

"Your Jeanette Shaw right?"

"Yes"

"Can I talk to you outside?"

"Of course." I said and then I lead her out to the front of the house.

"Is there something wrong with the food?" I asked curiously.

"No. It's not about the party. It's about your husband, Michael"

"Not to be rude but do I know you?"

"No but I know you"

"And how is that? Oh Jesus don't tell me your pregnant too" I joked.

"No but as Michael's future wife, we will probably start on children right away" she said in a serious tone. I was waiting for her to take it back but she didn't.

"He seems to have a lot of those" I fake laughed.

"A lot of children?" she asked confused.

"No a lot of future wives. I think I should start organizing them in alphabetical order, Don't you?" I teased with slight irritation.

"I'm serious. We were suppose to be together but I was too stupid and said no." she explained.

"Oh... So your the one everyone keeps babbling on about"

"Whose talked about me"

"Cindy told me you were in town"

"Yes. I thought she was still with Michael so I thought it was polite to warn her before hand that I was taking Michael back. But then I found out about you, so I'm personally telling you myself."

"Oh that's so kind of you. I wonder what you would have done if you had planned on run me over. Would you tell me before you started the engine?" I scoffed.

"Listen-" she started out firmly but I stopped her.

"No. He is a person. Not a toy that you can give to someone and then request it back when you want it." I said harshly.

I don't know why I was acting like this. All rude. I wasn't suppose to lose my control. With Cindy and Heather I never did that but with her it was different. It was like someone put a match in me and I was finally becoming a jealous girlfriend. I didn't like that person but I couldn't shut her off.

"Michael and I belong together" she hissed like the serpent that she was.

"Then why aren't you" I said sharply.

"Didn't I just tell you..." she snapped and then she scoffed shook her head. Then she muttered very fucking clear "God, he goes for the stupid ones."

"Excuse me?" I said with a clenched jaw.

"Listen. Michael is in love with me and I am in love with him" She said slow and clear like I was unable to hear her horrible voice.

"Really? Because he literally has said nothing about you. So you better fucking listen to what I'm going to say with those big ass Mickey mouse ears you got on the sides of your head. Michael Does Not Under any circumstances want you and if you think about coming back with that future wife shit again I will gladly shove it up that flat ass of yours " I spat at her and she just laughed.

"Your feisty. I bet he likes that. Probably reminds him of me." she said and I was about to snap at her again but she stopped me.

"Listen I'm just trying to be nice and tell you to back the fuck off so I can step back into my place"

"This is all talk"

"Oh really then why did we have a moment today" she said as if she was rubbing it in my face. Then my gut twisted.

"What?"

"I visited him today and we kissed. It was very romantic"

"Your lying"

"Oh really" she asked and then she reached for her bag. She pulled out her phone and showed me a picture of her and Michael locking lips in his office.

"This could be photo shopped"

"Denial is the first step sweet heart."

"If you don't believe me ask him for yourself and if he lies to you than that's probably a sign that we're getting back together behind your back. I mean we've done it before, wouldn't be the first." she said with a shrug.

"What are you talking about? He's been with Cindy since you broke up with him" I commented.

"Aww Cindy didn't tell you?" she said with a fake pout.

"The last time I was back was about 4 Years ago. Michael and I hooked up and continued to hook up behind Cindy's back. When she found out she was heartbroken but he didn't care. It was love. But then suddenly he wanted to much and I had to let him go again." she said as if she didn't care that she broke Michael's heart.

"Your such a slut" I hissed.

"Your husband is one to. But you wouldn't say anything like that to his face, would you?" she said with a smirk.

I couldn't hear anymore so I was about to go back inside but she stopped me.

"Tell Michael I will be here tomorrow night." she called out.

"For?"

"The beginning of our new life." she said and her smirk grew.

What an evil bitch.
