Authors Note: I know what your all are going to say. Bitch, where the fuck were you? But imma say this right now. If any of you want to take the SAT and chemistry final for me, be my guest. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this chapter, maybe vote and leave a thousand comments. Good or bad.

After I visited the old man Jo, I decided to catch up on some personal errands like redyeing the ends of my hair, getting my car checked, and visiting Tiffany. She was having a rough time. Then I went to Connie's office to check if we were still on for next week, but her office was closed. I was confused because it said she was open from 9 to 4.

It was 12 in the afternoon.

So I decided to call her and still nothing. I was kind of relieved, maybe she forgot. But another part of me felt like something was wrong.

Never the less, I needed to go on with my day which pertained to seeing Michael's beautiful ex Cindy. She called a few days ago to discuss the shower.

We were suppose to meet at an ice cream plaza. I looked around for Cindy and there the blonde Barbie doll was with her bright pink top and white shorts.

"Hello Cindy" I said politely as I went to sit down and she just gave me a stone cold look.

"Bitch. Where's Michael?!" she hissed but I kept my happy face on just for her.

"He's a little tied up at the moment. I'll be acting as a mediator for this baby shower." I explained.

"Whatever." She finally said after a few moments of silence. Then we started talking about what games would be played at the baby shower, who was invited, what music was to be played and types of finger foods she wanted. Then our conversation turned into Cindy trying to provoke me. I kind of predicted something like this would happen.

"Will the father be at the shower?" Cindy asked.

"Of course"

"Aren't you angry that he is having a child that's not yours? If it were me, it would be eating me up inside."

"It's fine" I simply said with a shrug as I read through the baby shower notes to ensure the demands made sense.

"But what happens when he neglects you because of this baby?"

"If it comes to that, so be it." I said in a still uninterested voice.

"What's wrong with you?" she snapped.

"If I start making a list, we could be here all day and I have places to be. So is that all that you want at the shower Cindy?" I said in a cool voice.

"Yes"

"Great I'll give this to Michael and then I will call you to see what day fits"

"Great" she said and I was about to get up but she spoke again.

"Oh wait, Jeanette" she said in a hurry with a smirk plastered across her face.

"Yes"

"Has Michael ever mentioned to you a girl named Madison?" she asked. I thought about it for a minute. He did mention that name once, but that was it. I didn't know what she was playing at, but I wanted to see where this would lead so I answered honestly.

"Once"

"Well she's back in town... I heard that she was hoping to get back together with him" she said with a bigger smirk.

"And I care because"? I asked trying to seem unaffected but something made a small jab at me in my gut.

"Because Madison left him. And last time I checked he is still in love with her"

"Again I care because?" I said with narrow eyes.

"You'll care when you lose him to that bitch" she giggled.

"What do you know about her?"

"They dated in college and then she broke up with him because she thought he wasn't the "one". I was the rebound chick and I knew that, but I didn't care. I had him and that was all that mattered. And now that she's back in town I'm scared for you. I always thought that when she came back I would instantly be heart broken for him leaving me for her, but now he can break your heart instead and I can't wait to watch that." she said the last part with such excitement.

"Haven't you heard Cindy?" I said sharply.

"What?"

"I don't have a heart."

"Oh quit lying. I see the way you look at him. I'm just simply warning you of the heart break." she said, trying to act all sincere but that made me want to simply break her neck and instead of committing murder I simply stood up to leave.

"Good looking out. Talk to you later Cindy." I said as I rolled my eyes and got up from the table to leave.

Madison. Michael wouldn't leave me for her.... would he?

When I got back to the house, Gray was standing in front of the door with a grim face and his stance was the usual rigidness it always was.

"Gray you look nice," I said cheerfully.

"Madame, there is an urgent situation that I need to discuss with you," he said in a firm voice. He was always so serious. He was only 35, how serious could one man be?

"Always wanting to cut to the point. Never a hello? Or a compliment on my hair? You make me sad" I teased with a playful frown.

"Please, madame," he said again in a firm voice. I decided to save my teasing for another time and just complied with his request.

"Fine" I sighed as I whipped out my key to open the door. I gestured for him to go inside first but he stayed in place so I went in and he came behind me.

"We can talk in the study. That room is very secluded" I said as I lead him to the room. Once we got inside I closed the door and made sure the windows were secure. Nothing we said could be heard.

When I checked everything I went to sat in one of the chairs.

"Won't you sit down Gray?" I said as I patted my hand on a chair next to me. He remained standing.

"Go on my dearest Gray," I said with a sigh.

"We lost 2 shipments" he stated.

"What were they? Was it from the Mafia or the construction company?" I asked casually.

"A crate of weed and a unit of concrete blocks"

"Do you have any reason to how they may have disappeared"

"Well the workers say it disappeared before it could be shipped. So the problem is at France" he explained.

"God" I groaned. I didn't want to go to ports. It always smelled like rotting fish.

"Madame, we have also spotted Jason," he said promptly and my eyes widened.

"How? I thought that bastard was off the grid."

"We spotted him in France at a Starbucks a few days ago" he explained.

"Well all villains need coffee" I teased but his face remained the same. I let out an unhappy sigh and then something dawned on me. Jason was a wise foe. He wasn't stupid. Seems like he wanted to end it in France... but why?

"But why would he willingly walk out in the open? He knows we're at war with him." I said confused.

"What are you saying?" Gray asked.

"It's just.... just a little odd I guess," I said as I stood up from my chair hesitantly. I was quiet for a moment. I was thinking of reasons why Jason would allow himself to be so vulnerable.

"Are you still tracking him?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Of course madame"

"Great. Make sure that you don't let the fucker out of your sites. Ensure he stays in France. Delay any flights he might have. And watch him closely. It sounds like he is playing with us" I said in a serious and demanding tone.

"We should go to France next month. That gives us time to get him cornered and we can observe how the shipments are going missing more closely."

"Sounds like a plan" I agreed.

"By the way, your sister is staying with your mother in France and they have been asking about you" Gray added and annoyance emerged from my gut.

"When did she go back to France?" I said sharply.

"A week or two ago"

"How could she be so stupid?" I snapped. Does she not understand that there is a bounty on her fucking head. I swear even though she is older she makes stupid decisions.

"Should we get her back?" he asked and I just gave a little sigh.

"No.... just watch her movements. Her and my mothers. Secure their safety and if Jason try's to seize them, clear the house of any important documents and my family."

"Understood," Gray said with a nodded and then all of a sudden we heard my name being called.

"Jeanette" Michael's faint voice came from the other side of the door. I wasn't in the mood to be a good wife as he put it, so I ignored him.

"Anything else you wanna tell me?" I said with a smile toward Gray.

"Madame we have reason to believe-" he was about to say but Michael's voice cut him off. He yelled my name harsher and louder this time.

"Jeanette!" he yelled. Again, I ignored him.

"Go on," I said to Gray.

"We have reason to believe your grandfather is alive," Gray said. Once he said that my heart was lightened.

"Really?" I gasped in shock and then the door bursted open and there was an angry Michael standing there.

"Jeanette!" he said with a clenched jaw towards me and then he realizes that I had company.

"Oh... hello." Michael said flatly towards Gray "I didn't know you had company"

"Well, I do. Now can you please leave so we can finish our conversation." I said in a calm voice and gestured for him to leave but he didn't.

"Why can't I stay? I mean, I am your husband after all." Michael snapped at me. I was annoyed but I didn't want to bicker in front of Gray.

"Gray, wait here. I'll be back in a minute." I said with a kind smile and he nodded. Once I let the room I gave Michael a deadly glare.

"What the fuck is wrong with you Michael?" I whisper with irritation very distinct in my voice.

"Why do you have a man in the house that I paid for while I'm not around?!" he growled.

"You paid for this house? I thought you got it for free" I said in a mocking tone.

"What were you two talking about?"

"Some shipment's have gone missing. Gray came to alert me. And some other stuff"

"You couldn't talk to him somewhere else?" he snapped at me and that caused me to flinch but I quickly regained my composer.

"What happened to this is our house?" I questioned.

"I'm still in charge of our house," he said sharply.

"What does it matter that I'm in at the house with a friend who happens to be a male?" I questioned as I crossed my arms in front of my chest.

"It's inappropriate" he simply said. I mean I get where he was coming from but the way he was saying just made it sound bad. Like he was assuming the worst of me.

"What do you think would happen? That I would cheat on you while you're not here" I spat.

"Jeanette-"

"What will happen when I have to work with men? Will you assume I'm cheating on you with them as well?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I already told you-you're not working. Now get dressed so we can go to Martin's house," he said with a firm voice.

"And I thought I told you I wasn't going," I said sharply.

"I decided for you," he said simply with the shrug of his shoulders.

"Anything else you wanna command me to do?"

"Tomorrow we are going to the gynecologist."

"For..." I asked.

"We need to make sure everything's in order so we can start trying for a kid right away" he explained and when he said that I had enough. I looked at him with a harsh expression. I wanted to rip his head off. He wasn't listening and he wasn't taking what I said seriously.

"GRAY WE'RE LEAVING!" I yelled as I opened the door to the study. In a matter of seconds, Gray was out of the study and went to the front door to escort me out.

I know leaving was the answer but what else could I do?

"No your not," Michael said as he followed me into the study. I was getting my purse.

"I will not, under any circumstances be in your control Michael. I was already run by a dictator and you don't get to replace him. If you want a wife that will follow you like a lost dog then you better turn your ass back around to Cindy." I growled.

"But I want you Jeanette," he said as he was attempting to touch me but I slapped his hand away.

"You want me but you don't want what I want," I said furiously.

"What's the difference?"

"Bye Michael," I said and then walked to the front door.

"When will you be back?" he hollered. I didn't answer.

"Dammit Jeanette answer me!" He shouted. I walked out and hoped in the passenger's seat of the car. Gray took the wheel. I didn't bother to look back as we were driving away.

It was silent and then Gray spoke.

"Madame Jeanette, may I ask you a question?"

"Of course"

"This is contract that you have with Michael Shaw, when will it end?" he asked.

"The contract ends in like four or three months" I answered.

"When it ends will we being going back to France so you can take over the construction company and the mafia more effectively?" Gray asked.

"Why do you ask?"

"Manning the ports here is a little hard and the heart of our organization is France. Useless we move it, but that may start wars with American gangs" Gray explained.

"We'll see how it goes Gray," I said with a faint smile.

"So Madame where are we going?"

"Well, first I need you to call our people in France and get working on maybe finding my grandfather. And then I think we need to start a search party for a woman named Connie Peak. She is very important to me and I think something has happened to her." I said a little worry. I had an urge to tell him to run me a brief report on that Madison woman too but that would mean I cared and I didn't.

Not one bit.

Did I handle that situation wrong? I thought to myself as I was watching my wife drive off with another man. I stood there astonished and with fear.

Was this going to be the last that I saw of her? And even if she came back, would she ask for a divorce? These thoughts were making me feel light headed and dizzy. I was on the verge of throwing up but I ignored it.

My pride and confidence quickly filled these empty feelings and I decided to just pretend like her disobeying me never happened.

I went back to the house and got myself cleaned up to go watch Martin's kids. I couldn't just bail last minute on my best friend because of Jeanette's inconsiderate actions.

I got in the car and looked at my phone. I was going to be approximately 2 hours early.

"Hey Marty," I said with fake cheerfulness in my voice. His facial expression was very confused and he was still in his work clothes but his tie was undone.

"Hey, Michael didn't I just see you thirty minutes ago? Or does time really work that fast? And where's the wife?" he asked and started looking around for Jeanette.

"We had a bit of a misunderstanding," I said simply and then his face change from confused to sadness.

"Don't tell me your canceling. The wife and I were so excited. We need to get away" he whined as he rubbed his hands on his face.

"No Marty. I'll just watch the kids." I said in a casual voice.

"By yourself?"

"Yea"

"But you've never watched kids"

"That's why I came early. So you could give me some direction. A little crash course lesson so to speak" I explained.

"In 2 hours? Michael, I'm not even good at watching them and I'm their father. Are you sure Jeanette isn't coming?"

"What does it matter? Do you think Jeanette could be better at watching them then me?" I snapped.

"No Mike. Of course not. but she has watched them before so..." he said as his eyes drifted off me and into the sky.

"What! When?" I said surprised. Martin never told me of her babysitting for him.

"Ever so often. They love her," he said casually.

"And they will love me" I replied sharply.

"Fine Michael. Just wait in the living room and Patsy will show you around," he said as he gestured me to go to the living room. Once I sat down I heard Marty yell.

"Patsy, sweetie" Martin yelled from down the stairs.

"Yes Marty" she yelled back.

"Can you show Michael around while I get ready?"

"Sure," she said and in seconds she was downstairs. Patsy complied to Martin's request without a complaint. I liked that. Martin told her to do something and she did it. Why couldn't Jeanette be like that?

"Patsy," I said as politely as I stood up from the couch.

"Hey, Michael. Let's go to the kitchen." Patsy said cheerfully and then escorted me to our destination. When we got there we stopped in front of some cabinets.

"This is where the utensils are. Since we will only be gone for 3 hours you'll probably need to cook them something. Can you make macaroni and cheese?" she asked. I've never actually cooked so I wasn't sure, but I'm sure there would be a YouTube video on how to make it.

"Uh yes," I said hesitantly. She looked skeptical but still wanted to be nice.

"Great... but if you get lost there are directions on the back of the box," she said and then wiped out a box to show me. They seemed well written so assumed that I couldn't get that wrong.

Then we went to another part of the house. It looked like the nursery.

"Now here is the baby's room. These three still have cribs? But Walter is 3, Ryder is 1, and Kyle is 2" she explained and then she walked me to the girls' room to introduce me to Anna the 7-year-old and Diana the 8-year-old. I had met the kids before but not like this. I never actually spent time with them. Only give them gifts for the holidays.

"So do you know how to change a diaper?" she asked while we were in the hallway.

"How hard can it be?" I said casually. I mean all you do is take off the diaper, wipe, and then put another one on.

"Well do you want me to do a quick demonstration." she offered.

"Nah"

"Okay... Well, the diapers and wipes are in the nursery in the third drawer. And make sure that the girls brush their teeth after you feed them. The formula is in the cabinet, and the breast milk is in the fridge next to the regular milk. No sweet things. Not too much TV. Read them a story." she explained. Then she went on to other things like what the kids are allergic to and what they like. That took a solid hour. I was toned out for some of it, but I would figure it out like everything else. I mean I was going to be a dad soon. I needed to figure these things out for myself.

"Great. I think I can handle it from here."

"Great. Just sit in the living room and Marty will be down shortly." Patsy said and then I went back to my position on the couch. Soon Martin came down in a blue suit. The best I've seen him dress since his wedding day.

"Where are you taking the misses?" I asked coolly.

"Some fancy restaurant and then maybe a hotel"

"Nice," I said and then he plopped on the couch next to me.

"So why is wifey not coming?" he asked bluntly.

"I don't know. She just got mad for no reason." I said as if it was nothing.

"Hmm... That sounds odd." Martin said not buying anything I was selling.

"I know right. We were talking about having kids and I said that she will stay at home to watch them" I said and was about to continue but he interrupted me.

"Will? Meaning she has no choice?" Martin questioned with a little bit of horror on his face.

"I'm not forcing her... I just want her to." I explained hoping it would smooth out any negative thing he had.

"For how long?"

"Until their 18"

"So your saying that for 18 long ass years, Jeanette will stay at home doing nothing but watch children?" Martin summarized.
