《The CEO's Shy Girl (Editing)》#Meeting

After Michael's firm decision of me not meeting Adam tomorrow, we left the carnival. Martin tried to coxed me to give him more details but I keep my mouth shut. Michael was already turning back into a bastard with a stick up his ass. I didn't want him to cause a scene. I wanted to talk to him privately about the matter.
When we finally got to the hotel, we all went straight to our rooms. I was laying down on the bed and Michael was laying down on a couch in the room. I insisted that he take the bed but he just shrugged me off.
"Michael" I whispered.
"Hm" he said softly.
"I'm going to see Adam tomorrow." I sighed.
"No your not" he snapped.
"Michael I just wanna know how he's doin. I haven't seen him in 3 years. I doubt anything will happen" I said.
"Who broke up with who?" he asked.
"Not important" I said shortly.
"So he broke up with you" he said in a dull voice.
"Michael I just wanna spend time with a friend. That's all he is." I said softly and went up to where he was.
"No" he said looking at my eyes.
"Why?" I pouted.
"Because the contract doesn't allow you to go on dates" he sneered as he sat up. And that made my blood boil. All his talk about this damn contract. He was always dangling that in my face and I was sick of it.
"I'm not going on a date. If you want you can come too. " I said.
"If I go then I'll be in jail for murder. I don't like that guy" he said in a bitter laugh.
"You don't even know him." I snapped.
"I will not allow my wife to go a date again" he said in a dismissive tone.
"Fake wife Michael. We aren't really together" I snapped.
"Why do you keep bring that up?" he growled.
"Why do you keep bringing up the contract?" I growled back.
"To keep you in check" he yelled as he stood up abruptly.
"I'm doing the same. I'm going regardless." I said as I stood my ground.
"Go on that date and you'll see what the fuck happens" he yelled. Then Michael left the room and slammed the door. I just sighed and went back to the bed to sleep.
The next morning I woke up there was an arm snaked around my waist tightly. I didn't move and kept my eyes closed.
"I know your wake" Michael said suddenly behind me.
"How" I asked.
"You were relaxed and now your tense all of a sudden." He said simply.
"Being relaxed means your not alert" I explained.
"You don't need to be that way all the time." He said and we just laid their for a couple more minutes until I spoke.
"I thought you were mad at me" I whispered.
"Very"
"Then why are you touching me?" I asked.
"Because I can. Now come on" he said and then went away from my back to get off the bed.
"Where are we going?" I said as I sat up.
"Well I have to do one last thing for the business deal and I need my assistant there." He said and went into the bathroom to take a shower. When he was done he came out with just a towel tighten around his waist. Then he started to remove it right in front it of me but I yelled.
"Wait until I'm in the bathroom at least. I don't wanna see all that." I muttered as I tried to take all my things in a hurry.

"You've seen me naked before so it shouldn't matter" he said with a smug smile and I just rolled my eyes and went inside. It took me like 15 minutes tops and I was ready to go.
We went straight to a limo and drove to this big ass building. I stared at it for a minute until Michael snapped at me for loitering around. When we got there we took the elevator and then went to this little office.
"You work in here reading things over and if your finished reading early wait for me in the lounge" he said formally and left before I could respond. I just did what I was told to do without a care in the world it was around 1:30 until I heard a knock on the door.
I looked up and saw a strange man staring at me. He was just leaning on the door frame as though he was admiring something and then his face broke into a smirk. I was very uneasy about his steady gaze on me. It made me extremely uncomfortable.
"Hello?" I said trying to break the weird atmosphere he created.
"Hello beautiful" he said stepping into the office and sitting down at a chair that was in front of the desk I was sitting at.
"Already handing out compliments?" I said with a raised eyebrow.
"You deserve one looking as sexy as you are" he said in a husky tone all of a sudden and then my body was tense. I didn't know what the hell he wanted but I wanted him to leave. I just looked at him not breaking my confidence and he then stretched out his hand for me to shake it.
"Gordon Clarence" he said.
"Jeanette Shaw" I said and hesitantly took his hand.
"So you're Michael's wife" he said still holding onto my hand.
"Yes" I said simply and tried to take my hand back but he didn't budge.
"He's a lucky man" he said as he starting to tighten my hand in his.
"Yup... Can I have my hand back now?" I asked.
"Of course sorry" he said and finally released me but he still stood and then started to walk around my desk to get closer but I started moving the opposite direction.
"Can I help you with something Mr. Clarence?" I said politely as I continued to walk around the desk.
"Well there's a gala I'm hosting for this deal. Why don't you come? With you husband of course." he said as he kept walking slowly.
"I thought there was a party yesterday?" I asked with narrow eyes. He was looking at me like I was his prey and he was going to pounce at me if I let my guard down.
"Wouldn't hurt to have another one" he said through his smirk.
"I'm sorry but you'll have to ask my husband." I sharply.
"Yes ask me instead Gordon" Michael voice said from the doorway all of a sudden.
"Michael your done signing all those papers? What a shame" Gordon mocked.
"What were you talking to my wife about?" Michael said as he walked over to me and brought me to his side by my waist.
"The upcoming gala I am having. I was hoping you and your wife could come?" he said to Michael.
"Sure. But stay away from my wife" Michael said.
"I would never hurt such a beautiful thing" Gordon said and looked at me with his hungry eyes. I cringed a little inside. Then with that statement Gordon left.

"Did he do anything?" Michael questioned and looked a little mad.
"Aside from being very creepy, No" I said simply and then broke away from his grasp.
"Well do you need a dress for the gala?" he asked as he sat down on one of the chairs that was in front of the desk.
"Who said I was going" I said as I walked around to organize the papers that I had.
"Jeanette, I'm the man in this relationship and I make the calls" he said.
I rolled my eyes at his statement.
"So... what are you gonna do about your date?" he asked casually.
"It's not a date" I snapped.
"Whatever... What will you do?" he said sharply.
"I'll go to let him down. I just have to meet him and tell him I can't make it" I said with a shrug.
"Great. I'll drive you" he said in a happy tone.
"I can do-" I started to say but he interrupted.
"I'm coming." he said in a firm voice.
"You'll wait in the car" I said with a defeated sigh.
"We'll see" he said. And then when I was done arranging the papers we went back to the hotel. When we got, Martin was sitting in our room watching TV.
"How did you get in here?" Michael questioned confused.
"Jeanette thank god I have to talk to you in private" Martin said as he came to me and grabbed my arm to pull me out of the room.
"Sure" I said as I was being dragged.
"Well you know Michael and I are like fire and water but he is my best friend in the whole world and your date is killing him" Martin said with a serious face.
"It's not a-" I started to say but he interrupted me.
"I wasn't finished. I have to finish. Anyways I'm not saying you shouldn't go but just don't hurt my best friend. Because if you do I will have my wife beat you up. You know those pregnant people are itching to fight bitches." He said in a warning voice.
"Martin I'm not really going. I'm just going to tell him it's off. There a Gala that we are going to and I have to cancel. I would feel bad that he waited there for nothing and I didn't show. And don't worry Michael's coming with me" I explained.
"Good and make sure you don't blush. That really pissed Michael off last time." he said.
"I didn't blu-" I started to say in a coy voice.
"Shut up you know you did." Martin said with a playful glare.
"Whatever it's not happening anyway so it's okay" I said with an eye roll.
"Great" Martin said and then we went back in the room.
"What were you two talking about?" Michael said with a raised eye. He was sitting on the couch.
"The weather" I said with a shrug and then went into the bathroom to start getting ready. I walked out in the cutest outfit that I had in my suitcase.
"You're not going in that" Michael snapped as he rose up from the couch.
"I thought it was cute" I said with a smile as I looked at the pretty outfit.
"No. Why can't you go in sweats and a bun?" Michael said sharply.
"I'm doing this for a reason. Don't worry, it's not to get him back. I just have to win the break up" I said simply.
"What?" Michael said confused.
"When you meet an ex your suppose to look pretty and confidence to show them how shitty they are for letting you go. " I explained in an obvious tone.
"What? So this is an outfit to get him back?" He growled.
"No I just wanna make him feel like shit. Now let's go Michael. The sooner I get this done, the sooner you will stop acting jealous." I said in a casual voice.
"I'm not jealous" he said with a glare.
"Now your lying" I said with a smirk. And he didn't say anything else but glare at me. We got in his car and I gave him directions to an old movie theater that Adam and I us to hang out at. He parked in the parking lot and tried to get out but I told his ass to stay in the car. He was close enough. I got out of the car and went over to Adam looking at his wrist watch.
"Adam" I said in a sweet voice.
"Hi Jeanette you look beautiful as ever" he said as he examined me.
"Thank you" I said as my face heated up a little.
"No thank you for accepting my offer" he said as he grabbed my hand.
"Actually I'll have to refuse." I said.
"So my smile wasn't enough to win you over. It was the first time." he said with a little grin.
"And the chocolates and ice cream as a bride really helped the first time too" I giggled a little.
"So this is the end of the line." Adam said disappointed as he looked at my hand.
"I'm sorry Adam." I whispered.
"Well at least I got to see you one last time." he said and then one of his hands went to my cheek and my breath hunched.
"Likewise" I said with a smile and looked into his deep green eyes.
"Why did I let you go again?" he said softly.
"You didn't. I broke up with you" I said as I took his hand off my face.
"Now why would you do a thing like that?" he asked with his eyebrows furrowed a little.
"As I remember, I wasn't the only chick in your life" I said with a little laugh. I don't know why but it was kind of funny now that I think about it. When I caught him with my friend Veronica I almost killed both of them. I got out my gun and waved it around like a crazy woman. But instead of committing murder I just screamed at him that we were finished and that was it. He tried to get me back but I just ignored him. He was quite desperate now that I think about it.
"Well I really did want our relationship to work. I even bought a ring. I still have it." he said and pulled out a ring from his pocket. It was so... me. It was perfect and made my heart stop beating. But I felt bad. He knew I never wanted to get married but he brought a ring anyway.
Maybe he thought I would change my mind?
"Adam" I gasped as I took the ring from his hand. I just looked it.
"When I first saw it I thought of you." he whispered.
"Adam it's beautiful" I said with a cracked voice. This ring was so beautiful it made me want to cry.
"Is it stupid to say I want you back?" he said.
"Very" I said as I looked back to him.
"Well call me stupid" he said laughed.
"I didn't know we were that serious" I said in a low voice as I held my hand out so he could get the ring back.
"Jeanette I'm sorry if I ever did anything to screw us up but I can't let you get away again" he said with a struggled voice.
"I'm sorry Adam... I can't" I said as I took his hand to drop the ring in his palm.
"Is it because of your husband?" he asked.
"Yea kinda" I laughed a little.
"Come on Jeanie. You don't actually like that guy. He isn't good for you. He's just a rich playboy" Adam snapped.
"You researched my husband" I asked with a smirk.
Jealous people today.
"Yes Jeanette now please come with with me. We can run away together." he said in soft voice.
"I would love to but I'm fine with how my life is now. And I'm pretty sure we couldn't out run his car" I said as I pointed to the car. Michael looked like he was ready to kill.
"Fine doesn't mean happy. We could be happy" Adam said as he glared at Michael and then put his eyes back on me.
"Not everything in life will be happy. I'm sorry Adam" I said.
"I understand. I just thought I could try" he said as he opened his hand to look at the ring.
"Kiss goodbye?" he asked as he looked up to me.
"I would think my husband would have a problem with that" I laughed.
"Who cares what he thinks?" he said.
"Sadly I do. I always have" I said and whispered the last part and I started to walk away but he spoke.
"Do you love him?" he asked. It took me a couple of minutes but I turned around to look at Adam. He looked like a puppy that had been kicked in the face.
"Of course. I mean I wouldn't have married him otherwise" I said with a small smile.
"Did u ever love me?" he struggled to say.
"Jeanette. It's time to go" Michael hollered.
"Wait a sec." I called back and I earned a harsh glare.
"I don't think I should answer that question. Bye Adam" I said as I glanced back at Adam and walked in hurry to an impatient Michael. He opened the door for me and shoved me in the car. Then he didn't say anything else.
"I sense a little hostility coming from this side of the car." I said as I gestured my hands to his area but he didn't say anything but growl. I decide to not say anything else to anger the beast before his big party. When we got to the hotel room I started to go to the bathroom but he stopped me.
"Do you wish you were with him?" Michael said all of a sudden. I turned around to look at him.
"No." I said. Adam and I were a terrible couple that deserved to end.
"I saw a ring being exchanged between you too" he said in an uneasy voice.
"I guess he wasted his money." I said with a shrug as I crossed my arms.
"Why did you two break up?" he asked.
"He cheated so I dumped him. Along with some other things" I said.
"If he hadn't cheated would you be with him?"
"No" I snapped.
"Why not?" he said in a confused voice.
"He had a lot of good qualities but he also had a lot of bad ones. In my opinion when you get married you find someone whose flaws and quirks you can tolerate. He had a lot of flaws that I hated very much" I said and that caused him smirk.
"Which were..." he laughed.
"Aside from the cheating. He was a huge flirt with all the ladies. And he was very immature. I almost punched him for a couple things he did" I said.
"Well that makes me happy." he said still keeping his smile.
"That's why I said it." I said with a smile too.
"So how did you like his ring?" he asked.
Ugh. More questions.
"Honestly it was beautiful. He payed attention." I said as I took my eyes off him to look somewhere else.
"Why didn't you lose your virginity to him? Why me?" he asked.
"Wait... you knew it was me" I asked.
"I remember fragments of that night. Your face was pretty blurry. But I do have security cameras and I had a really bloody ass sheet in the morning. It looked like I killed someone" he said.
"Why interrogate me that day at the office if you knew it was me? " I snapped.
"I wanted conformation" he said with a shrug.
"But you sleep girls all the time. You probably banged some people from work too" I said in a mocking tone.
"I have only slept with 4 women" he said.
"4?!" I said shocked.
