《WANDS AND SPELLS | VKOOK ✓》51 | last stepping stone

Jeongguk stared at his father standing in front of the bathroom door that was wide open and he could see the pitch black background. Nothing was visible in there.
"You trust me right?" he asked taking small steps ahead and Jeongguk was so confused on what to say but he did believe his dad more than anyone else. He was the ideal for him, the perfect role model and he wanted to be like him, "Tell me dear, you do trust your father right?"
Jeongguk took a moment to himself and nodded, pulling himself to his feet, "I do trust you dad but why are they against you? Why are they saying you are killing people and why did Yoongi say that you're gonna kill me?"
"They are conspiring against me, it's Hansung. He did this. Taehyung that kid is also with them, sorry to say but you have been fooled my love," Jonhan lied in a tone that oozed fake concern and rubbed his thumb against the younger's cheek.
Jeongguk just blankly stared at the one in front and choked on his own tears as he tried to keep them inside, "How could you say that so surely, dad? Taehyung is really involved in this?"
"Taehyung is with that shapeshifter, the one who wanted to kill me. You can ask him." Jonhan said looking back at the opened door, he was running out of him and he needed to get back in there with Jeongguk.
Jeongguk was quick to walk closer to the door where Taehyung was still waiting for him to open up so he can talk, "Kim Taehyung, do you know the one who tried to kill my dad and me? The shapeshifter?"
"Jeongguk, baby,"
"For once be honest with me!" Jeongguk shouted and the one against the door let out a huge sob, "I can explain it all, just open up, Gguk."
"Fuck you, Taehyung. Go fuck yourself. You played with my feelings so bad, I really fell for you," Jeongguk said loud enough for the other to hear and sob even harder, "Jeon Jeongguk, listen to us, will you?"
"I trust my dad." he said and turned around to see his father smiling at him softly and held his hand out for him to take, "One last time, trust your father, will you, Jeon Jeongguk?"
"I will." Jeongguk smiled overlooking the pang in his heart and also ignored the shouting and begging coming from the other side of the door.
"Enough, I am breaking the door, I might get suspended but who cares, it's more important." Yoongi said getting his wand, "Eusenos dorizo!"
With that, the door was swung open but what they both saw was horrifying. Jeongguk walking in the black abyss inside the bathroom following his father and the door immediately shutting close that moment not letting anyone do anything about it.
"What the hell!" Taehyung ran to the door and opened the door again but instead of that black abyss, it opened to Jeongguk's bathroom which was pretty much expected.
"Yoongi, Yoongi! He took him, he took him, do something, fuck," Taehyung ended up on his knees and cried his heart out and the older just stared at him, thinking about how this happened and what will be the consequences.
He quickly called his dad who was the one who was assigned to get that wand from the other disguising as Jin Woo which he did but little did he know that the mage always kept his wand hidden in his socks and the one that was in his coat was a replica of that with no magical abilities in it.

"Yoongi, that motherfucker got the wand, don't let him get to Jeongguk okay? Keep him safe." Haechul shouted from the other side and Yoongi wanted to cry, "He already got him dad, we can't save anyone now."

"Dad, where are we going?" Jeongguk asked as the elder whose grip on his wrist tightened, "Where we should be."
"Isn't there anything we could do to prove them wrong? I can't stand how everyone is thinking about you, they should know you can't do any of that." with a soft and low voice, he said letting himself get dragged by his father who walked through the dark passage, just the fire in the holder in front was the only source of light.
"We don't need to, dear. We have a bigger purpose." Jonhan was now literally pulling him harshly as he ran inside. As a result, Jeongguk had to run too, "What do you mean?"
"Ignito!" he let his hand go and shouted that spell out. The fire on every holder around the secret chamber ignited and Jeongguk looked around.
Too shocked to see what was in there. A dead body in the centre of a circle with candles all around it, blood flooding the area and he with horror in his eyes looked over at his father who smiled at him, "You will know why I did this, Jeongguk. Trust me, I have my reasons."
Jeongguk took a step back, his whole body shaking as he did so. With trembling hands, he pointed at the body covered in blood, "Did you kill him?"
"I said I can explain—"
"And who are they? Are they dead too?" Jeongguk now pointed at the six more bodies laying almost senseless on the ground at one corner. They were tied, even their mouths were covered with clothes.
"No, they aren't." Jonhan said grabbing his wand when he saw Jeongguk slowly reaching out for his own but before he could do anything, he used the spell to get an object from anywhere and got that wand which was ordinary compared to his own.
Jeongguk fell on the ground when it happened and his father took this chance to tie him with the ropes he created with spells, "Spirilao segrus!"
With that his hands were tied and so his feet causing him to fall on the ground, grunting as a result because of the bones crushing on the solid floor. It was all created by magic and Jonhan was undoubtedly very good at it.
"Dad, did you forget I am your son, your own blood?" Jeongguk asked feeling oh so betrayed and with eyes filled with tears those were threatening to fall, "What— what do you plan to do with me?"
"You were born for a reason, Gguk." he said walking to the dead body only to drag him out of the circle. The younger one glanced at the line of blood being created as it was being dragged, "A very noble reason it is."
Jeongguk waited for him finish what he had to say, "You're my creation and you shouldn't hesitate to give your life for me."
"What the fuck do you want you piece of shit!" his voice echoed in the whole chamber, "You pathetic excuse of a father, you don't even deserve to be called human—"

"You know who your father will be after this, Jeon Jeongguk? The breaker of the realms, the ruler of them, do you know what that means?" Jonhan laughed like a maniac, his hands in the air as he chanted to himself, "I will be the most powerful wizard to ever exist. Immortal. It's an honour to be my son. You should be grateful. People will remember you for me."
"Fuckface why do you even want to stay alive when people will spit on your name?" Jeongguk didn't have any control over his language, no, of course it was understandable. His own father, not even step or anything, his own biological father is ready to sacrifice him, he is ready to kill him.
"Do you not feel bad keeping me here and even thinking about killing me?" Jeongguk just regretted it all that moment. Yoongi said that. Everything started to make sense. That book, he gave him that for a reason.
The Dominion holds the answer to how to stop it all and he knows that, he remembers the page where it was all written but too bad his hands were tied.
"That whore of a boyfriend and his partner ruined it all for me, but I can't stop trying can I?" Jonhan asked, running to the six people he held captive and grabbed a woman by her hair. She wasn't in her full senses but when he started pulling him with her long hair, the pain woke her up fully and she screamed, "I have to try, I must try to the end."
"Leave her you psychopath!" the young man screamed on the top of his lungs, he was crying so hard as he watched his father get the woman into the circle and pulled her face by her hair, his hand reaching out for the knife that was in his pocket.
She was begging for him to let her go, "I have two children, please let me go. Who will look after them, I beg you. Please."
"Shut up!" Jonhan shouted choking her with his bare hands and once she got a little weak, he slit her throat in one go. He pushed the bleeding woman on the floor as she grabbed her own neck trying to stop the blood flowing down but alas! there was no way she could survive.
Jeongguk just stared at this frightening scene, crying and screaming until he felt his voice getting weak. How can someone be this selfish and this inhuman? And that too, his own father he thought he knew too well, this was nothing less than his worst nightmare.
The blond watched the atrocious acts of the man who was unfortunately his father as he continued killing the other people. Jeongguk was crying, screaming for help but no one can hear them except themselves.
The bullshit theory of the secret chambers that they were made for times in danger for Belfort just came handy and he was using these sacred chambers for his own benefits. He created them with his own magic in the name of an escape in times of need. Who knew what were his true motives.
"Don't do this, I beg you." Jeongguk all tired and eyes blurry mumbled, weakly trying to break free his hands which was nothing but a futile attempt.
He was getting tired, his each and every ounce of energy in his body was draining with every passing moment and he let his body lay on the ground.
His eyes were still trying to keep up and see what more this man had to show.
But his eyes went sore and tears weren't stopping and one moment, he closed them finally.
That's when he could see that night in the Teng forest years ago.
Everything seemed so clear as the spell he had on him broke.
"What are you doing here?" he saw his father asking under the blood moon in the sky. The little four year old Jeon Jeongguk watched as Taehyung's dad walked closer, his hands holding out his wand just in case.
"I should be asking that, not you? Why are you here?" Hansung's trembling voice asked his father that question and he just stayed there holding onto that hand which was responsible for so many deaths. He that moment didn't have any clue on what was happening. Why his father brought him here in the middle of the night?
The sky was full of clouds and the only thing that was visible amidst the flashes those were scaring the little boy to death was the blood moon. He tightened his grip around his father's hand and looked around; he noticed a man with yellow eyes near the trees but he was too scared to even talk about it since Taehyung's father shouted.
"Are you trying to destroy this whole place and for what? Power? Don't do this, you will regret." Hansung shouted at the top of his lungs and his former best friend laughed.
"Shut up, don't speak when you don't know anything you filthy piece of shit!" Jonhan pointed his wand out but Hansung took the chance to attack him and as a result he landed on the floor, his wand lost somewhere amidst the grass.
"You motherfucker!" the man let go of his son's hand who went and hid beside a tree, too scared of what was happening. Seeing his father and the other uncle fight, he weeped and mumbled "Dad, be careful. Don't get hurt." under his breath.
He was not aware of the fact that his father got him here to kill him under the blood moon, he didn't have the slightest clue that the one who he loved the most was actually trying to sacrifice him.
Jonhan wasn't that strong without his wand and Hansung took full advantage of it, he tried his best to stop him and tried until the blood on the moon was finally fading.
"Aren't you ashamed for even trying to kill your own son?" Hansung locked his head with his arms and screamed when it was getting hard to keep him like that.
The moon was fading and Jonhan almost cried at this. The killings he did in the past seven days went futile as he couldn't sacrifice his own blood under the moon.
Jeongguk was the last one to die for this ritual to get completed.
Jeon Jeongguk was the last stepping stone.
