《WANDS AND SPELLS | VKOOK ✓》41 | he deserves a chance

Jeongguk threw his phone on the bed in frustration and sadness. Taehyung wasn't picking up his calls nor was answering to his messages where he clearly is saying that he doesn't know what's this all about.
He couldn't help but lay down on his bed, his hand reaching out for his phone again, trying to call again. The tears weren't stopping at all. He wanted to know what just happened that Taehyung reacted like that, what must have happened that he accused him of something so cruel.
He remembered that Taehyung said he heard himself talking about this. The other didn't give him any chance to explain himself and now that he was in no way ready to talk to him even, how will he prove himself?
How will he do that?
There was subtle knocks on his door and for one second he hoped that maybe it was Taehyung and quickly ran to open it.
"Oh, it's you Jimin."
"How's Taehyung?" he asked and Jimin shook his head pushing the other and getting inside, "He is already sleeping, cried for so long."
"Jimin, trust me, I don't have any single clue on what's happening. I didn't fake it all, please. All the feelings are true," he tried to put up his point of view, he was innocent and Taehyung had to know that and he also had the idea that if Jimin believes in him, Taehyung will too eventually.
"Man, I trust Taehyung, whatever he said or heard or have seen, I will always trust him but you, Jeon Jeongguk, you can't fake forever, I hate to say this but your feelings felt very much real, you like my bestie and there's no chance for doubt in that, I don't know why Taehyung is talking all these."
Jimin sat on the edge of the bed and Jeongguk settled beside, a little relieved that yes at least he believes him.
"He said he heard and saw you talking to your dad over phone?" he informed and Jeongguk raised his brow, "I didn't talk to dad today, he is out for some work and his phone is off for that reason, how could I do that?"
"Damn, then what's going on?"
"I don't know, but Jimin," Jeongguk cried out again, "Please make him understand. Why can't he see that I can't possibly fake it all, he knows how my heart beat goes feral when he is against me, how much I yearn for him to be close to me, he should understand how I only wanna see him all the time, was our bond this weak?"
"Honestly, Jeongguk. Your relationship didn't have enough time with each other, it didn't give y'all the enough time to get deeper and you being his rival in the past and both of your daddy issues just makes the condition worse," Jimin breathed in between, "Somehow I don't know how but somehow he saw you talking over at phone and as much as I know Mr. Kim, he can be involved. You also told me that he might know Moreon the shapeshifter? You said that he might have hinted something like that so what if it's that, what if this is just one ugly trick to get you out of his life."

"How will we prove it? Even if I show him my phone, he would say I somehow deleted stuff and my words alone.... they can't do shit. Y'know what, I am upset about how he didn't give me a chance to explain, how he called it fake in one second, doesn't matter how little time we had to ourselves but I deserved a chance to explain."
"My best friend really believe everything very easily, on top of that, both of your past relationship is what's taking a big toll on him. I didn't believe you and thought it was all an act until one day when he decided to believe. Now hearing all these, he might have been conflicted." Jimin took the other's side and sighed looking over his shoulder at the latter whose gaze was now on the floor, eyes blurry because of the tears threatening to fall.
"But whatever it is, someone did this and I have a feeling, it's Mr. Kim. Of course he would be happy if Taehyung himself breaks up with you? No?" Jimin suspected, running his fingers through his cotton candy hair.
"I am not sure but if not him, I don't see anyone else. It has to be him," Jeongguk said sucking in a sharp breath, "It might be some illusion spell or something right? In our realm, it's very much possible to create illusions and it isn't even that hard." the blond one stood up, walking to and fro thinking hard about how to fix this. He wants his boyfriend back and he is ready to do anything to make him believe this.
"What's the plan?" Jimin questioned.
"I don't know, but we have to come up with something." he said biting onto his bottom lip, frustration and sadness evident in his tone.
"Fuck—" Jeongguk cursed throwing that mug he had on his table and watched it break into pieces. Jimin flinched at the sound however he totally understood how the other might have been feeling, this was very complicated and to sort this out will be even more complicated.
"Calm down, first. Take some rest and try to talk to him tomorrow. I will too. Let's see how things work tomorrow and if it still doesn't solve, we will come up with some plan." Jimin stood up and patted the other's shoulder who was still now staring at the broken pieces of ceramic.
Their relationship was just like the mug, broken and hollowed. He didn't know how to fix this or even if it will ever fix as well.
"Pal, tomorrow will be a good day, go grab some sleep." Jimin rubbed his palm on the other's back before taking slow steps out of the room.
Jeongguk blinked hearing the door close behind and he couldn't help himself anymore, he again started crying.

Taehyung was getting ready for classes.
Eyes puffy and looking gigantic, he looked himself in the mirror and fixed his cape, sight fixed on the Belfort logo.
"You have to be the mage. For showing that shit of a Jeon his place and for dad," he mumbled to himself and looked right into his own reflected eyes on the mirror.
Fury, that's what he felt.
"You have wasted a lot of time, now time to get back to do what you're born for," he encouraged himself, trying to make him forget the heartbreak. He was trying to hate on Jeongguk to forget the pain he was feeling.
He just didn't want to believe all those but what was even that?
A hallucination of his own thoughts that used to haunt him in the back of his head? Or some stupid spell someone did to prank on them or to pull them apart. He felt pathetic to even think of excuses for just to get back to the other.
He was finding it so damn hard to believe that they were over already. Taehyung was on the verge of crying again but found himself in front, his state— Jeongguk was responsible for this.
He will make him pay.
"Taehyung, you don't have to do this yourself and Jeongguk. Just talk it out first. This might not be how it seems." Jimin finally said not able to keep it to himself anymore and the brunet glared at him, "What do you mean, Jimin?"
"I mean, this isn't how it seems like. You have to talk it out with him, you need to give him a chance to explain—"
Taehyung interrupted,
"Oh wow, now he enchanted my best friend too? What Jimin, what did he do to you? I have seen with my own eyes, it was him talking. How come you don't believe me?" Taehyung shouted, Jimin just breathed heavily.
"Man, there's many ways to create illusions, you know magic makes things so easier and more believable. I am not saying whatever you say didn't happen, what I am saying is that whatever happened might be staged," Jimin tried to explain.
"I believe you but I also believe that Jeongguk actually likes you and all of those were real."
"Oh my Lord, Jimin. Get out of your imagination, it's not good in there!" Taehyung held his pointer finger in the air and threatened him.
"Who would possibly do that and what's the outcome? It's definitely not staged, why would someone do that?"
"It would sound harsh and offending but Tae, your dad isn't really happy about your relationship. And to remind you, Mr. Kim might know the shapeshifter so what if?"
"Motherfucker—" Taehyung came closer and grabbed the other's collar pulling him close and glaring at him, "So that disgusting imitation of a boyfriend said this to you too? I know my dad isn't the best one out there but he can't be that low to get involved with an almost murderer."
"And for your kind information, Moreon is taken to the Ajgarols house, how would he even get here, man did you sell your common sense and buy popcorn with it, what even?" Taehyung pushed his bestie who couldn't manage his balance and fell on the ground.
He yelped in pain when his back hit the rock hard floor, Taehyung flooded with guilt now however didn't reach out to help him get up, he was too angry to do that.
"Then you should most probably buy some common sense too because Kim Taehyung, someone can't fake feelings 24/7. He can't fake the care, he can't fake all of that," Jimin slowly pulled himself to his feet and now glared at the other, "Don't let your dad again ruin things for you, finally you were getting happy, don't let him get to you."
"Shut the fuck up! I said it isn't him so it isn't him! He doesn't know that murderer!" Taehyung shrieked, his hands turning to fists and he was on his way to punch the shorter male but stopped in the middle.
What was he doing?
He can never be angry enough to hit someone, that too when it is Jimin. He immediately closed his eyes and let himself calm down.
"He might try to separate us but he can never be in touch with that murderer, no—" Taehyung said, almost whispered and Jimin went close to hug him tightly.
"Hey, just give Jeongguk a chance to explain himself, I am sure this will sort out if we handle this maturely," Jimin suggested and Taehyung just tightened his hold around the other.
"Man, I don't know. I don't know. Half of me wants to listen to what he wants to say, what he has as excuse, half of me wants to believe that this might not be him but also the other half says that maybe whatever I saw was true, my dad can't do this. This has to be just the Jeons."
"Taehyung, to all your questions, the only solution is to talk. Please baby, do give him a chance, he deserves it."

Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com!
