Taehyung knitted his brows at the other when he heard him laughing but he stopped after he had seen those beautiful doe eyes boring into his own.
"What's so funny? I am here dying." Taehyung asked and Jeongguk sucked in a sharp breath before grabbing his hands and pulling him inside the room, closing the door behind.
"Okay listen, sit first," Jeongguk made the other sit on the edge of the bed and Taehyung just stared at his lap, not knowing how to start, this was messed up.
"Look, Jeongguk. Yesterday—" he was interrupted when the younger one gave a gentle squeeze on his hand that made him look up and stare at him in silence again.
"I overreacted, I guess," Jeongguk said scratching the back of his neck while Taehyung shook his head no, mumbling, "No, you didn't. It was justified. I was the one to fuck up."
"Well, it was me who thought it was easy to forget the past and move on so quick but it's difficult and now I know it, so let's just give each other time," the older said and did something that made the other giggle.
Taehyung rubbed his right palm on his cheek and asked, "I never thought Jeon Jeongguk was this mature."
"I am mature, probably more than you even though you're a little older than me," Jeongguk said and confessed something he had been feeling the whole day.
"And also I realized that I like you being around, I like your presence now and today I kind of missed you," Jeongguk said causing Taehyung to raise his brows at him, a little astonished, "Damn, are you sure your are alright, buddy?"
"I am! It's just I don't know, I myself can't believe it."
"I am sorry, for yesterday." Taehyung apologized, again feeling the guilt surrounding him and filling his mind, "It was is stupid of me to do that, I never gave it a thought how it might hurt you, I am so sorry. That instinct of always competing just popped out which is wrong, I know. Now that we aren't rivals and shit, I should've thought about it, I—"
"Uh, Tae. I get it and I would be more happy if we don't bring that up but yeah will surely say that I ain't playing here or this is a prank cause this is not. I already cleared myself but again saying. I wanted to end these shit going on between us. First it was because I felt guilty hearing about your suicide attempt, somehow caught me guilty but then later on when you said it wasn't for me, I still felt bad however soon I figured how I wanted it genuinely," the blonde haired male informed with a small smile on his face and Taehyung stared at him.
"The change was sudden and so I was just a little doubtful but now I am not;" Taehyung finally started believing that and he himself was sure that this can't be an act.
"People say secrets are what makes the bond stronger so here's one secret. You saw how thunders trigger me, do you want to know why?" Jeongguk asked and Taehyung scooted closer to the other, nodding yes.

"If you trust me as a friend and want to tell me, I am here Jeongguk," Taehyung put up that sweet smile and also the voice he used— oh so soft and so tender yet deep, the younger won't probably say this at the moment but he loved his voice.
It did have some kind of effect on him and he felt these weird tingling feelings whenever he used that tone with him.
"I will tell you that but also here's another secret," Jeongguk leaned closer and once his mouth was near the other's left ear, he whispered, "I love your voice, it's too beautiful. I wonder how it will sound when you sing."
"I, Jeongguk, you said that to me earlier and uh singing, I like singing," Taehyung was taken aback because of the sudden closeness and moved away a little which resulted in the other to let out a chuckle, "I wasn't going to kiss you, idiot. Relax. Now that I remembered, Please I need to find myself a boyfriend or girlfriend. It's been a year I kissed someone, let alone make out."
"Uh, then get one. Everyone is ready to date you, you're their prince charming," Taehyung said noticing how the conversation took a turn and Jeongguk didn't say about the thunder secret. Probably forgot in the middle of these dialogues but also he didn't dare to ask because he doesn't want to make things awkward or anything anymore.
When it's the right time and if he wants to tell him, he will. Taehyung doesn't need remind him.
"You aren't one of them, are you?"
"Uh you're handsome, smart and sometimes funny so wouldn't mind but also nope!" Taehyung laughed throwing himself on the bed and turning to face the other who looked down at him, "Why not?"
"Because uh just NO."
"Please that's so sad. You're hot and you being my boyfriend, damn everyone would be like WHAT JUST HAPPENED?" Jeongguk laughed and Taehyung joined.
Soon when their laughter died, there was a comfortable silence between them until Taehyung broke it.
"I had all these thoughts in my mind when I was walking here and you turning them all to ashes, thank you. Thank you for giving me another chance, Jeon Jeongguk. Thank you."
"Look I don't have many friends. Well if we see, it's only Jimin and I am pretty bad at these stuff so I will most definitely fuck up but promise me that you would tell me if I did something wrong, you wouldn't just keep it inside your heart, have your own thoughts without having me know about it, yeah?" Taehyung asked pulling his hand up in ten air and getting his pinky finger out, "Promise."
"Yeah, promise," Jeongguk smiled lacing their pinkies together and let them fall on the mattress.
"Your bed is more comfortable," Taehyung pointed out feeling the softness of the mattress while Jeongguk nodded, "Being the mage's son has some perks to be honest, like getting my solo room and also this amazing expensive mattress."
"I feel like sleeping here, mine's not soft like this, ugh," Taehyung closed his eyes and breathed in heavily before adding, "Today was so exhausting. Running after you and then also these thoughts."

"Then sleep here, I will sleep on the floor or will go to your room. For tonight sleep here," Jeongguk suggested and Taehyung laughed, "Yeah sure."
"Not kidding, you can if you want to,"
"Nah, this will be so weird," Taehyung immediately sat up and Jeongguk sighed, "If it's not the case of 'his bed stinks' or something then you surely can sleep here tonight."
"Please, I—" Taehyung laughed, "Your bed doesn't stink. Well I thought it would but no?"
"Why did you even think that, do I look like I am someone who doesn't shower for weeks?"
"No, I mean, I just thought. Y'know convinced myself that everything about is bad, not my fault, blame my mind," Taehyung squeezed his eyes shut while Jeongguk shook his head, "You disliked me so much, now makes sense how you think it's all a prank."
"No, not anymore," Taehyung denied.
"That's great then," Jeongguk smiled and stood up from the bed and walked up to the study table, "You can rest here, I will study anyways. I have been lagging behind a lot."
"No, I ain't sleeping here but I will stay here for a little longer, do you need any help? I already caught up with all the lessons," Taehyung said watching the other sit on the chair.
"I didn't start yet so I don't know if I need help so yeah stay and talk to me while I read," Jeongguk said running his fingers through his hair.
"Won't that be a distraction?"
"You're already a distraction. You're so hot, can't keep my eyes off you," Jeongguk said that and started laughing loudly that was of course not to mean anything like that but Taehyung was very flustered. He doesn't hear these type of comments a lot. No, not the case of him not being attractive to anyone. He was, no doubt but not a many people approach him because of him ignoring them plus still, everyone knew who his father was, they wouldn't dare.
"Shut up, you flirt," Taehyung groaned, looking away as he felt heat radiating through his skin, his cheeks tinting reddish making him look more cute than he already did that plain baby blue t-shirt and matching pajamas having teddy bears printed on it.
"I am sorry but it's true, you're hot. Why don't you date? I remember you having a boyfriend in middle school, no?"
"Yeah, Park Chanyeol. Now he is dating Byun Baekhyun," Taehyung remembered his one and only ex boyfriend. He was a nice boy but things didn't work out between them so they eventually broke up.
"Are you still in love with him or something?"
"What? No, I am over him and we weren't that close like we kissed a few times but the feeling was not there, y'know what I mean? He didn't make me feel belonged, it was like we were just together," Taehyung said hugging his knees and looking at the other as his chin rested on his kneecaps.
"Ah I get it, he wasn't made for ya. He looks happy with Baekhyun though, so there's someone else for you. So go explore babes, go on dates, I guess." the blonde one said throwing the pen on the table and closing the book already.
"I kind of, like key word kind of had an itsy bitsy tiny crush on Park Bogum," Taehyung laughed and now Jeongguk was curious.
"What's up with you and Parks? Don't you see anyone else?" Jeongguk let out a giggle, and started tapping his foot on the floor, "Everyone significant in your life is a Park?"
"Ooh so you want a Jeon to be my significant one?" Taehyung raised one of his brows at the younger who smiled, biting on his lip, "Never thought, Kim Taehyung was capable of flirting."
"That wasn't even flirting, shut up?"
"Anyways, come here and help me with these," a sigh melted into the air before he again opened the book and Taehyung nodded walking over to the other.
"Lemme be your tutor for today," Taehyung said getting the book in his hand as he sat on the edge of the wooden table, Jeongguk just silently watching him.
Jeongguk glanced at the other's thighs in front of him and then up at the older who was busy staring through the pages of the book but looked away before the other sees him doing that.
He surely doesn't want that.
Some minutes into the lesson with Taehyung helping him, Jeongguk couldn't but think about his father, these thoughts of when he will wake up won't just leave him alone.
"When do you think dad is gonna wake up?" Jeongguk suddenly asked and Taehyung who pressed his lips in a thin line before giving the younger a soft smile.
"Everyone is there for him and trust me he will get better soon," Taehyung said and then ruffled the other's blond hair.
"Sometimes, I get scared thinking about all these horrible things, I just want him to get better as soon as possible, want him to lecture me, want him to suspend me for bunking classes, I miss him," Jeongguk was almost gonna cry but didn't.
"Hey," Taehyung called getting off the table and now crouching down on the floor in front of Jeongguk who just watched him.
Taking his hands in his, Taehyung smiled once again and tightened his grip on them, "Look, you thinking all these horrible things or crying over them isn't gonna make things better, it will just make you feel like a disaster, so don't. Just be hopeful, we all are praying so there's no way the mage ain't getting better,"
Jeongguk hummed softly, "Y'know what, keep talking. Your voice itself comforts me. These days you're my comfort. You around me makes me feel at ease. I don't know why."

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
