《Water and Ice | Shoto Todoroki》Chapter 56-Stuck in the Hospital

My eyes slowly opened to a brightly lit room.
I got used to the sudden brightness and looked around me. I saw Iida, Todoroki, and Midoryia all lying in hospital beds like me, and I suddenly remembered what happened.
Had we defeated Stain? I wanted to ask them but they were all asleep.
I sighed and just stared up at the ceiling. At least we were all alive.
A few minutes later I heard the sheets ruffle on one of the beds. I looked over and saw Midoryia sitting up next to me. He saw that I was awake too.
"Hey y/n." He greeted simply.
I couldn't help but smile. Despite what had happened, he seemed as cheerful as usual.
"Hey Midoryia. Did...Did we win?" I asked.
He nodded.
"After you passed out, Iida was able to move again and me and him were able to knock Stain out together. Todoroki froze your wounds closed to stop the bleeding and we found some rope to tie up Stain. We took all his weapons and the pro hero that was there was going to help me and Iida to carry him to somewhere with heroes who could take him from there. Todoroki carried you but we had only just started to go when some pro heroes arrived. They took you, but then suddenly a Nomu showed up. It was a grey flying one and it looked like it was diving straight for you. Todoroki drove it away with his fire, but it came around again and went at us from the back. It managed to pick me up, but somehow Stain had kept one of his knives and cut the rope we had used to tie him up. He managed to kill the Nomu, and for some reason he chose not to kill me. He started talking about his cause again, and slowly advanced on the heroes. But then suddenly he stopped moving. I think he had gone unconscious, but he was still standing. I still don't know what happened to him though. Ambulances arrived shortly after and I passed out, and now we're here." He explained.

"Oh wow." I tried processing everything he had told me.
I mean, what else was I supposed to say to that? It sounded like quite an ordeal. I took minute to play through the events in my head.
"I'm glad you're all ok. I don't know what I would do if I lost one of you guys." I said after a moment.
He nodded again. The doctor suddenly came in. He saw that we were awake and started to speak.
"Good, some of you are up. Well your friends should wake up soon too, so no worries. Let me see here..." He looked at his clipboard.
"F/n l/n. It appears you fractured your spinal cord and severely damaged the tissue and muscle in your leg. The was also a major injury in your shoulder from a stab wound. Recovery Girl can probably heal most of it, but you might not have the energy to do it all at once. The best thing you can do is try and rest so we can heal it as fast as possible." The doctor explained.
I nodded and he went over and started talking to Midoryia about his injuries. I thought about what he said. How long would I have to stay here? The rest of my internship? The door closed behind the doctor as he left.
"Sounds like you got pretty banged up." Midoryia said.
"Sounds like you did too." I responded.
He shrugged. We stayed in silence for a few moments and I just stared at the ceiling.
I hoped I wouldn't have to stay here for too long.

Gamer
This story is abandoned and has not been authorized for distribution on any sites but RoyalRoad. Given the Gamer ability after shattering a crystal inside a game, Jon's world is upturned as he is thrown into a life he considered fantasy. Making new enemies and encountering a god, he cannot escape the quest which is forced on him. Different worlds and different situations, can he come out on top? He's neither perfect nor a saint, he is Jon. Welcome to Gamer. This has been dropped, I didn't like the way I forced a few plotpoints and I lost my notes on the story itself. Read below if you want to be spoilered. As far as I recall, he would change race into a higher human after using a spell to overload his mana repeatably until his body forcibly adapts, he would train up his rift usage spell with some better targets than God's Realm because he keeps hitting his stats limit until the cost lowers enough that he can actually grind it. His world is being invaded by multiple worlds, so the god had many backup plans where a lot of people went into their own fantasy settings and came back to defend Earth. Jon never is the strongest one out there, he has to keep grinding and grinding before he gets stronger than the other heroes, and at that point the invasion is nearing the final stretch. Jon's two biggest advantages is that he can keep grinding without hitting a cap he can't evolve, and that even when he is eventually killed. He would have respawned in the nearest 'Safe Zone' after dropping a level and everything he did to gain that level. I also had a bunch of ideas for mini-arcs where he would play in multiple worlds in multiple situations, not that great of an idea in retrospect.

Virtuous Sons: A Greco Roman Xianxia
Book one now available on Kindle. The saying goes that when a man is born the Fates weave his destiny and swaddle him in it. Then one day the man dies, and the swaddle becomes a shroud. Heaven moves on. It is audacity to question the Fates. Olympus is Olympus. The land of men is the land of men. To transgress that, to cross the line of divinity and scale Olympus Mons? To defy the Fates and cast off their threads? That is hubris. It’s a mark that every philosopher bears plainly on their soul.
