《Water and Ice | Shoto Todoroki》Chapter 49-Repeated Advice

"Follow me." Todoroki said.
I did as he said and followed him through the hallways of the agency. I thought most agencies were just to conduct business in, but this was more like a training facility. I was glad I was with Todoroki or else I definitely would've gotten lost in it.
We came to another set of doors and Todoroki pushed them open. Half of the room looked like a normal training area, like what you would see in a gym. But then the other half looked like it was made fore quirk training, specifically a fire quirk. I noticed it was warmer in there than outside, and I really hoped it wouldn't trigger anything.
Todoroki seem to think about it too.
"If it's too warm in here we can find somewhere else. My father just says it boosts his quirk, although I doubt it." Todoroki said.
I caught a glimpse of Todoroki rolling his eyes at the last part and I suppressed a laugh.
"It should be fine. It's not that hot and I think I've gotten a lot better since the first time." I responded.
He nodded. We went inside and I looked around a little more.
"I'm not sure how long my father's 'guests' will take, but we can probably do some individual training and maybe a couple of one on one battles if we have the time." He suggested.
I nodded and went towards the back of the quirk side. I didn't need much space for what I wanted to do, and I kept my distance from Todoroki since I wasn't really in the mood to be burned or frozen today. I started by practicing with my water and clouds, I wanted to be able to use multiple variations of my quirk at the same time. As I watched him train, Todoroki only used his ice. I could tell he was still reluctant to use his fire, especially after this morning. After a while I got tired of seeing him waste his time.

"Listen. I know you don't really want to use your fire here right now, but that's the one thing you actually need to train. If you've put everything behind you now and you're willing to use your power to get stronger, then that's what you should be working on. After barely using it for so long, it's probably a little out of hand. If someone's in trouble and you need to use your fire to help them, you need to be able to do it without accidentally scorching them. If I'm being honest, I was a little worried I'd be burnt toast by the end of the Sports Festival. You need to get a hold of yourself and control your power. Because it is yours. Not your father's, not anyone else's, yours." I tried putting my thoughts into words.
He stared at me for a few minutes, making me afraid I had crossed a line.
"...You're right." He finally agreed.
"Sorry. I just hate seeing you being held back." I quickly replied.
"You don't need to apologize. I think I really needed to hear that." He responded.
I let out a breath I didn't know I had been holding. I really just said WHATEVER was on my mind nowadays, didn't I? Way to go y/n, way to go.
"Wanna go one on one now?" He asked.
"Uh, sure." I answered.
I followed him out and down the hall to a different room. It kind of looked like the arena for the Sports Festival, except smaller and more stone than dirt. We went inside the marked boundary and faced each other on opposite sides. It was just like the Sports Festival all over again, hopefully it wouldn't end the same.
"Ready? Go!"

My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe...
Xavier had a happy, humdrum life: normal friendships, a normal girlfriend, a somewhat oddball family. Until, that is, he literally stumbled through the fourth wall and discovered he was the protagonist of a manga. Now he's scrambling to maintain any semblance of control over his own life in the face of something he never imagined he would need to contend with: the power of the Genre. Hello, E.O. Tenkey here; thank you for your interest in "Not A Manga"! This was my first serial novel, and I hope you enjoy Xavier's predicament! Familiarity with manga not required (though it can't hurt)! I look forward to exploring the bounds of the Genre with you. (First volume is rated PG-13 for comic mayhem and light profanity—these are high school students, after all. Second volume is rated PG-13 to R for some violence and similar levels of profanity. Tags may or may not contain spoilers.)

Most people think having powers would be amazing. Not Nate. If he had it his way, he’d never use them and pretend they weren’t there. His powers, though, seem to have other ideas. Uncontrolled powers sound problematic on their own, but when people can destroy entire city blocks with a wayward glance, they become a whole new issue entirely. Nate has always felt like he’s had wary eyes watching him, waiting for him to slip up. So far, he’s managed to just barely keep his head down, but when his powers force him to step into the spotlight, he finds himself caught up in the one life he never wanted; heroism. Now, will he find a way to accept the powers he blames for all his problems, or will he crumble under the pressure? Note: I primarily upload on my website on Sundays . I'll upload here regularly up to a day after the chapters go live on the main site. Vote for aka on TopWebFiction! Feel free to join the aka Discord.
