《Water and Ice | Shoto Todoroki》Chapter 36-Bakugo vs Uraraka

"Good luck, you might need it." I tried giving encouragement as Ura walked away.
I heard her laugh, a tint of worry evident in her voice, before she disappeared into the crowd.
"Do you think she has any chance of winning?" I turned to Todoroki once I was sure she was gone.
"It depends, Bakugo would either have to be really bad this round or she would have to be extremely good." He responded, genuinely thoughtful.
"So there's not really any chance of her making it through..." I sighed.
He shook his head.
"You should get ready to face him in the next round." He said.
I bit my lip in a nervous habit, worried what would happen if Ura was let down too hard. I waited a few more moments for the match to begin, my anxiety towards the situation only growing. Ura and Bakugo walked out into the arena and faced each other, just like all the other matches I'd watched. Although I think I was more worried for this one than any of the others.
Midnight started the match and Ura immediately rushed at Bakugo. He made an explosion and I winced as she got blown back. She kept going at him and he kept blowing explosions in her face.
"I can't watch..." I groaned, rubbing my hands against my eyes.
"She's a whole different type of fierce, I'll give her that." Todoroki commented.
I looked through the holes between my fingers to see that the torture was still continuing.
"If you cover your eyes, you'll miss the best part." I could just sense the smirk through Monoma's voice.
"What?" I fully uncovered my face and turned to look at him, planning to return a glare in his direction.

"You idiots don't think that girl has a plan? Just watch." He seemed quite confident in his statement.
I shot a glare at him, but looked back at the arena anyway. It looked like the same thing was still happening, but the dust began to settle and I saw Ura wasn't attacking him anymore. I saw her say something, but couldn't make out the words. She put her hands together and rocks began falling from the sky. I looked up and realized what her plan had been all along, she had been purposely getting blasted over and over. She needed Bakugo to tear up the ground of the arena, creating rocks and boulders she could use to her advantage. She had been collecting them all and keeping them above the arena, waiting to use. Now, in all the chaos, she would run at Bakugo again, and have a better chance at touching him and making him float.
"So that was her plan. Pretty good." Todoroki spoke like it was an observation.
I let a small smile appear on my face.
"I knew she would come through." I said.
She ran at Bakugo, but then something completely unexpected happened. Bakugo held his hand up, and made a MASSIVE explosion. All the rocks Ura had gathered up were blown to bits, destroyed along with Ura's plan. He had completely wiped out Ura's attack with one move.
"How..." I didn't have any words to finish my sentence.
Ura was on the ground, struggling to get back up. She was mumbling something I couldn't hear. Bakugo was still ready to fight, though.
"That was...incredibly strong." I chose my words carefully.
Todoroki nodded in agreement, he seemed kind of surprised in a different way.
The dust settled and I watched sadly as Ura was still on the ground, struggling to get up and fight again. I knew she wanted to, she wanted to fight more. But I also knew that her body couldn't take it. She had given it her all, and her all just hadn't been enough. I knew she would beat herself up about it, but it wasn't really her fault. Bakugo was exceptionally strong, which is why I was extremely nervous seeing as I would have to fight him next. Midnight walked over to Ura. They exchanged a few words, but then Midnight announced Bakugo as the winner. Ura was carried out, and Bakugo walked out of the arena.

"Poor Ura...she's not gonna let this go." I murmured.
"I'm not sure how she'll take this defeat..." Todoroki added his own worry.
"Not very well."
