"Well I definitely wasn't expecting that." I said as he sat down.

"Me neither." Ura added.

He shrugged.

"A little more than anticipated." He agreed.

"I'd better go..." I said as I got up.

They both nodded.

"Good luck." Todoroki said.

"Break a leg! Well, don't actually...Just do well!" Ura tried to encourage me.

I smiled and nodded in acknowledgment before walking down into the hallways of the complex stadium. I waited near the entrance to the area of the arena until they were done dealing with the ice Todoroki left behind. Once everything was ready for the next match, I walked out into open. The roar of the crowd filled my ears as I watch Mina walk out from the other end. We faced each other and I tried not to give any show of emotion. I needed her to know that I wouldn't hold back just because we were friends.

"Let the match begin!" Midnight announced.

Mina immediately sent a stream of acid at me and I deflected it with a wall of ice. It burned through, but didn't reach me. I sent a blast of water at her and she sent acid at it. The water hissed and part of it evaporated, the other part sank into the ground. We both kept attacking each other, neither of us gained the upper hand though. I finally decided to take a more offensive approach. I used all of the techniques I had learned to fight her. I raised the humidity to make the area foggy, and then stayed silent. I listened to the ground crunch as she walked, and pinpointed her location. I sent a blast of ice at her and knew I had caught her off guard. I heard her struggling to break free, but she was already melting through the ice. I came behind her without making a sound.

"Sorry about this Mina..." I apologized rather quietly.

She started to turn around, hearing my voice, but it was already too late. I pushed her back with a pressurized blast of water and coated the ground in ice, causing her to slip and fall. I sent her back with my water again and continued to push her away. Sadly for her, there was nothing Mina could do as she struggled to fight back. I suddenly stopped pushing her with the water and quit the steady stream of mist. Midnight waved away the fog in front of her and looked at the situation.

"Mina is out of bounds! Y/n wins!" Midnight declared.

I helped Mina up and dried her off by evaporating the water that was left on her.

"Sorry." I apologized again.

"It's ok! I mean we both tried our best, right?" She gave me a smile before turning towards the exit.

I nodded and headed in the opposite direction from her, heading for the original opening I'd entered through.

"Well good luck!" She turned to give me one last message of encouragement.

I heard it and pivoted to face her, just in time to see her round the corner. I faced forward again and finally left the arena. It was a lot quieter in the empty halls as I made for Todoroki and Ura in the stands.

"Nice job y/n!" Ura congratulated me as I sat back down.

"I couldn't even see what was happening half the time." Todoroki remarked.

"I wonder who my next matchup will be." I pondered.

"The way the bracket is set up, you'll either have to go against Uraraka or Bakugo depending on who wins their fight." Todoroki explained.

I nodded, taking in the information. Ura got up, I'd almost forgotten her match was next.

"I have to go get ready, I'll see you guys later!" Her true determination showed in her eyes.

"Good luck, you might need it."
