《Water and Ice | Shoto Todoroki》Chapter 26-Settling In

"Guess it's time to decorate." I said as I looked around at the rather plain room.
I took everything out and laid it on the bed. I started to put everything I'd brought around the room, and it didn't end up taking as long as I thought it would
After I was satisfied with it, I went downstairs to the common room.
"How'd your decorating go?" Ura asked as I sat down.
"Pretty good. I almost fell of a chair but other than that it went well." I gave a slight smile.
"Yeah, that's definitely not life threatening or anything." She rolled her eyes.
"Was that sarcasm?" I let out a mock gasp.
"What if it is?" She asked testily.
"I didn't think you were capable of it." I laughed.
She rolled her eyes yet again. Iida came into the common room and put up a paper on the bulletin board.
"What's that?" I asked.
"It is the cooking schedule." He answered.
"Who's first?" I asked.
"Kirishima will be preparing our first meal." He responded.
"Nice." I said.
I sat and talked with Mina and Ura for a while.
"So what did you guys do in training?" Ura asked.
"I bet y/n had a hard time since she was with Bakugo." Mina smirked.
"Not really. We did some really good stuff. I think I learned a lot from that, although I did get a little injured." I rubbed the back of my neck.
"Did Bakugo explode you?" Ura guessed.
"No, although it was partially his fault. Some of my ice splintered and cut me after his explosion." I said.
"Yikes, I bet it hurt. Do you think you need to see Recovery Girl?" Mina asked.

I shook my head. They started talking about their training, but my mind wandered elsewhere. I thought back to what had happened in my own training session. I wondered if Bakugo was lying about what he said about the strength of his explosion. But then again, why would he? It just felt hard to believe I'd withstood that with minimal injury.
"Dinner's ready!" Kirishima called from the kitchen, interrupting my thoughts.
We headed to the dining room and sat down. Kirishima and Bakugo started bringing food out. They sat down and we all started serving ourselves.
"Did you make all of this yourself?" Ura asked, amazed.
"Well, Bakugo helped me with it." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Bakugo cooking? I'd like to see that." Sero smirked.
Bakugo glared at him. We started to eat and I was actually surprised at how good the food was.
"Maybe you're not such a bad cook after all..." I murmured to myself.
We all finished eating and started to get up.
"I'll do the dishes." I volunteered.
"I'll help." Todoroki added.
I nodded and started taking everything into the kitchen. I put all the leftovers away into the fridge in case anyone got hungry again. I started to wash the dishes and Todoroki helped by drying them.
"We make a pretty good team." I commented while smiling.
He nodded and looked over at me.
"There's...actually something I've been meaning to tell you."

Incursions
This blurb concerns Incursions book 1: Incarceration. If you could buy superhuman abilities, but they might kill you—or worse—would you do it? Ten years ago, in a world not so different from our own, people with powerful abilities appeared. The new powers were dangerous, dangerous to acquire—dangerous to have—dangerous to wield. World governments raced to find and eradicate the abilities and those who possess them while using the media to rule by fear. Whereas corporations sought to exploit the abilities for profit. Raz Owens was living the dream - a rising star at a job he enjoys, a girlfriend he loves, but it all comes crashing down when Raz disregards his late father's advice. He is pulled into a chaotic underworld of clandestine labs, shadow organizations, and super-powered criminals. Used as a human test subject in a place where few survive the day, he must last long enough to escape. His only advantage? A power that seems nearly useless—a heads-up display. Contains: monsters, violence, death, dismemberment, gamelit, superpowers, superpower consequences, good guys, bad guys, good guys who might be bad guys, bad guys who think they are good guys, good guys that might go bad, bad guys that might turn good, guns for hire, competence, incompetence, continence, incontinence, conspiracies, and some of what I just said wasn't true. This story is written in third person limited POV. That means you can expect to know many of the thoughts and inner dialog of one character, and only see the actions of other characters. This POV does include scenes without the main character, and thus the reader can and will know things the main character does not. Further, this means characters act on what they know, which is almost always less than the reader knows. Something else to know. These books do not hold your hand. If you're reading it and thinking "Gosh, why aren't 'they' doing some 'obvious' thing." Bad news. You probably missed something that explains exactly that. If you're seeking a light read that doesn't ask much of you as the reader, you're invited and very welcome to come on in, but this might not be the story for you.

A Step Behind Death
Please share your thoughts about the story! Feedback and criticism is welcome, it'll help me improve my writing. "The final year of high school is the most difficult." This statement has never been truer for Damis, a student attending one of the many schools in the City of Sundridge. He never wanted anything more than to live a peaceful life, going so far as to avoid having large group of friends, indulging in dragged out conversations, or being involved in any other activity that requires him to invest a large amount of effort to accomplish. Instead, he poured all of his efforts into studying, dwelling in his internal monologues, and complaining about the things that annoy him to his one and only friend, Noah. Before long, he ended up as one of the best students in his class. As far as he was concerned, he was content with how he lived. But, after a confrontation with an eccentric girl named May, one of his classmates since the first year of high school, things have suddenly gotten out of hand. And as a result, his life became a lot more hectic than it used to be. Bound by a deal he could not refuse, his life as May's assistant began. At this rate, can he still spend the final days of his high school life in peace? Welcome to the life of Damis, the boy who's always A Step Behind Death. The cover art is made by friend of mine. I plan on making this novel into a webtoon once it becomes the best it can be. English isn't my first language, so expect some grammar bumps along the way.
