《Water and Ice | Shoto Todoroki》Chapter 22-Moving Day

"This is likely where you'll be living for the rest of your time at UA, so get used to it." Mr. Aizawa announced.
I saw a few of my classmates start to fidget.
"Well don't just stand there. Go inside and check it out." He added when he saw no one was moving.
We all went inside as a group. We walked together without saying anything, knowing that we would be in this together to the end(except for the ones that get expelled or whatever).
After we finished looking around, we went outside again to see Mr. Aizawa waiting for us.
"It's a nice place. Try not to blow it up or burn it to the ground." He said.
We all nodded and a few people chuckled
"Now that that's taken care of, I can take my nap." He zipped up his sleeping bag.
We all kind of stood around awkwardly as we tried to figure out what to do now. Mr. Aizawa unzipped his sleeping bag.
"Head back to class. There's still two more hours of school left." He grumbled before zipping it back up.
We all started to head back together.
"I can't believe the Sports Festival is next week! It's kind of making me nervous." Ura said.
I nodded.
"We'll just have to train as hard as we can and do our best. This'll be a good test to see how far we've come and where we stand between our classmates." I responded.
She nodded. We finished walking back to class and sat in our seats, ready to start learning again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The school day ended and we all started packing up our things. I got up from my seat and waited for Ura to finish getting all her stuff.
"Ready yet?" I asked.
She nodded and got up with her bag.
"Let's go." She said.
We left the school and walked home together.
"See you tomorrow!" I called as I waved goodbye from across the street.
She smiled and waved back. I went into the house.
"Hi honey, how was school?" My mother asked.
"It was good. Did you know we were getting dorms?" I asked her.
"Ah yes, your teacher came over the other day to ask me. Of course I said yes." She responded.
I sighed but nodded.
"The Sports Festival is next week." I said.
She nodded.
"Do you think you've trained enough?" She asked.
I shrugged.
"I'm not sure. I guess I won't know until the time comes to put my skills to the test." I replied
She nodded.
"Well dinner should be ready at six." She said.
I nodded and went upstairs to my room. I left my bag by my desk and sat down to finish my work.
After a while, my mom called me down to eat. I put down my phone and got up from my bed. I quickly headed downstairs. I sat down at the table with her.
"Did you finish your work?" She asked.
I nodded and started to eat. It was pretty silent expect for the sound of having our food.
"I should probably pack up my things." I said as I got up, breaking the silent atmosphere we'd created.
She nodded as I left to bring my dishes to the kitchen. I headed upstairs again and took an empty box from my closet. I started to gather some things from my room that I thought I would want at the dorm.
I didn't need a lot, and didn't end up with that much stuff to haul over. I took it downstairs and placed it near the door, where I knew I wouldn't forget it. I still wasn't exactly sure how I would take it all the way to school, but hopefully I'd figure out a way.
I checked the time and realized how late it was. I got ready for bed and flopped down on my mattress before closing my eyes.
Within seconds I fell into a deep state of sleep.
Novos is a hitchhiker, sharing the body with the young girl. Along for the ride, but able to take the wheel when needed. This is the story of Celestine's life as witnessed and influenced by the presence of the foreign spirit. Note: This is a rewrite of a previously submitted fiction I posted here. I rewrote it for NaNoWriMo from memory. Feel free to read what I previously wrote, but significant elements have changed. I am leaving that iteration of the story up un-edited for future reference and for anyone curious.
Aurora: Apocalypse
Currently participating in the April 2022 Royal Road Writeathon. This fiction will resume in May 2022 When Methuselah’s star explodes, the world burns under the impact of an extinction level event. Emmett Carter just wants one thing - to gather his family at the farm and keep them safe. Rated [M] for Mature Audiences. Contains Alcohol use, Drug use, Gore, Profanity, Smoking, Violence.Rated [D] for Drama. Contains emotional themes, interpersonal relationships, and character development. Author's note: You are reading a first draft, written mostly while drinking cheap whiskey. Expect it to read like hot garbage and I guarantee that it’ll meet your expectations. I’m a storyteller, not a writer - there’s a huge difference between the two professions. IMPORTANT! This story is told in a first-person limited, conversational style, with Emmett occasionally breaking the 4th wall and addressing the reader directly. This means that YOU and Emmett may have absolutely no idea why stuff is happening, because there will be little or no exposition or other POV's. Read the comments for spoilers, ask questions if you want to know something.This work incorporates blended aspects of Xianxia, Wuxia, Super powers, and Western Magic into a post-apocalyptic fantasy adventure. It is none of those things and all those things, mashed together. The MC is Over Powered, but so are many, many others. He just hasn't met them yet. Dear Student, What follows is an adaption of the diary of Emmett Carter before his Ascension. While the decades during and after the Aurora Apocalypse are lost to us, the Ascended himself has allowed us to publish this work so long as we warn the reader that it may not be entirely accurate or present an unbiased viewpoint of the events. One should also note that the Aurora was in flux during that time and some things that were possible in the early days are no longer possible, especially with the advent of the Akashic record. Editors have included footnotes when possible to explain pre-aurora technologies or concepts and how they relate to current magical technologies. The contents of this work may upset readers. If you’ve ever been in a natural disaster, had a house fire, witnessed a murder, lost a loved one to violence, or have a strong opinion on the sanctity of life, please do not read this. It contains dramatic scenes of a world in the throes of an apocalyptic event. There are no rainbows and unicorns, only loss, uncertainty, and death while the survivors struggle to rebuild their lives. Updates Thursdays and Sundays for now. Word count is about 2000 ~ 4000ish per chappie.
Issekai Mockery
The story begins with Alvaro Brad, a genius young man in his teens. Alvaro excels at every subject of his school, chemistry, physics, mathematics and programming are some subjects that he enjoys the most. That seems to be the first impression that people have about him though. Alvaro has another side to him, he is addicted to gambling. Since nothing seems to challenge him anymore, he has taken upon himself to beat luck itself. The only moment he feels any kind of joy is when he takes risks and gambling has given him exactly that. After skipping class to gamble yet again, he sees something on the way to the club. After looking closer he finds a small coin on the ground and as soon as he picks it up he is transported to another world. -Issekai Mockery is exactly as the title suggests, a satire fiction novel making fun of the Issekai genre in subtle and not so subtle ways with the sole purpose of putting a smile on the readers' faces, the novel will feature a lot of Issekai and mmorpg jokes. Don't forget to comment and rate the fiction as I want to listen to some feedback.
