《Water and Ice | Shoto Todoroki》Chapter 3-New Friends

English finally came to an agonizing end, and it was finally time for lunch. I grabbed my things and looked around for Todoroki. He said he had wanted to talk to me, although I still wasn't sure what it was about.
I sighed and walked out of the classroom. If he wasn't here then I might as well head to lun-
I was jolted out of my thoughts as someone grabbed my arm. I did a clumsy spin and almost hit the wall.
"What was that about?" I asked whoever had pulled me.
"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to pull you that hard. I guess you're just kind of light." Todoroki said.
I wasn't sure whether to take that as a compliment or an insult.
"So, uh, what did you want to talk about?" I asked as the other students went past us.
"Well I noticed in training that you used clouds and water to complete the exercises. I'm guessing your quirk is Water Control, or something like that. If that's true, I noticed you never used any ice. Can I ask why?"
He was a lot more observant than I expected. I rubbed the back of my neck.
"Well, yes. You're right about most of it. My quirk is Water Manipulation. I do have control over ice, but I'm really terrible at controlling it so I usually don't use it. Although I'm hoping if I train hard enough then I'll be able to get better control over it and not have to risk endangering people in battle."
I'm not exactly sure why I told him all that. I guess I just felt like I could trust him.
"Kind of seems like the opposite of me. I have almost complete control over my ice, but the other part of my quirk...I don't really use as often." He said.

"What's the other part of your quirk?" I asked.
I had guess based off of his hair coloration, but I wanted to know for sure.
"Well, I can control ice with my right side, and fire with my left." He replied.
"Why don't you use your fire as often?" I asked him.
"I'd...rather not talk about it." He said bluntly.
I shrugged it off.
"We should head to lunch." I said.
I looked around and realized the halls were almost completely empty. He nodded and started to walk in the direction of the cafeteria. I almost had to jog to keep up with his long steps.
We entered into the cafeteria and I quickly got my food. I spotted Uraraka, Deku, and a few other people sitting at a table. I walked over and sat down.
"Where were you y/n?" Uraraka asked.
"Oh, I was just getting all my stuff in order." I told her.
Everyone else at the table introduced themselves. Todoroki sat down at the last seat of the table, which happened to be next to me. Everyone talked and laughed but I noticed that Todoroki was particularly quiet. I pushed it aside and talked more with my new friends. I now knew their names were Iida, Tsuyu, and Hagakure.
"I could teach you." Todoroki suddenly said to me.
"Hmm?" I looked up from my noodles.
"I could teach you to control your ice."

Bleached Nightmare
500 years into the future, technological progress has stagnated. Wracked by a series of problems like climate change, lack of resources and the innate human lust for war, the geopolitical landscape of planet Earth is radically different, and quality of life is far from what it was in the past. While technical development and research into realistically feasible space travel has made leaps and bounds, this has come at the cost of a world that is reeling from centuries of technical stagnation in other aspects of life. The establishment of a mining colony on Mars has led to the discovery of a new, rare material called sarinium; though it is extremely tensile and durable, it has a very low melting point. The discovery of this metal leads to large mechanical infantry- dubbed 'Spirit Striders', they are six to ten meters tall and as famed for the pride they provide a nation as they are a lethally mobile heavy weapons platform. The story follows the character of Marilin, who must both figure the enigma that is her past, and what this means for her allegiances in the future. Despite her genetically physical frailty, she seeks to gain power through a vessel that will channel her wish to change the world- the Spirit Strider. --- I hope you all enjoy my work. This is a story that I began writing over four years ago in my beginning years of high school, and have cast aside unfinished in the past two years. Though it is not up to my current standards, I hope you all may find some enjoyment in it. Happy reading.

Long Island
Long Island was not the first virtual reality game or to say a VRMMORPG. Not the one which changed the world and became a legend. No, it was made when there were lots (quite a few) of virtual reality games already on the market. Each game had its own unique AI feature, its own unique adventure, promising everyone a chance to become King, if not a God. In such a time Long Island was made. Just a little different, just a little unique. Swamy was starting his own adventure, in life and in game.Note - Thanks @DameCarnelian for the cover. Just so people don't get confused, that ship is not Raka's ship :)
