Ruby Rose sat in her room, doodling while looking out of the window, being quite bored. Zwei sat in her lap fast asleep, she sighed, petting the small corgi, before going back to stare out of the window.
Her sister Yang had been accepted into Beacon recently, while happy for her sister, Ruby couldn't help but feel a little jealous. Sure, Yang was two years older, but Ruby felt she could qualify as well.
Ruby shook her head, expelling the negative thoughts. Think on the bright side Ruby, in two years, you could apply and join Beacon yourself!
Ruby sighed and looked out the window once more, she instantly stood, Zwei hopped off her lap and onto the floor. She stared out the window, seeing the rapidly approaching fireball.
Running out of her room, she ran into her father Taiyang.
Taiyang: Whoa! What's the rush?
Ruby: Outside! Large fireball!
Taiyang looked at her quizzically, Yang popping her head out of the room, looking at the two of them. Ruby zipped past her father and ran out the door, Yang and Taiyang flowing close behind.
Once Qrow launched into the air, he unbuckled himself from the seat and transformed into his crow form. Following the wreckage, Qrow felt an odd sense of familiarity with the surrounding landscape. Qrow saw the house of Taiyang, only then realizing where they were. He calmed down once he saw the bullhead on a clear path to miss the house.
Qrow dove down to a tree, perching on it, he shifted back into human form. Hopping onto the ground, Qrow ran towards the crash site.
As he ran out of the forest, only one thing circled in Qrow's mind. It was probably due to his damn semblance that they crashed. His bad luck semblance making the already damaged thrusters explode.
Nearing the wreckage, he saw that his family had already gone to investigate the crash. Ruby was outside staring in shock, before turning to talk to him.
Ruby: Uncle Qrow!
Ruby used her semblance tackling Qrow with a hug. Qrow quickly hugged back before lifting her off him and moving towards the flaming wreckage. Qrow ran closer towards the wreckage but stopped when he saw Taiyang and his other daughter outside as well.
Qrow: Tai! Help me over here! There's still someone inside!
Taiyang: Qrow... I don't know if anyone could survi -
Taiyang was cut off by the groaning of metal, Qrow turned to see the bullhead slowly lifting up.
Vader lifted the wreckage above his head and tossed it behind him. The wreckage landing with a thud. Noticing the fire, and that it would spread very quickly, Vader outstretched his hand willing the force to move.
Vader, using the force, removed the flame from the burning wreckage, swirling in a circle. Vader motioned upward, the flames spinning upwards in a flame pillar before dissipating in the air.
Ruby watched in amazement as the armored man, moved the bullhead, and the flames without touching them. Ruby then tilted her head, sure that she saw that man before, racking her memory she tried to pinpoint where she had seen him before. Realization dawned on her face, before whispering to her sister.

Ruby: Yang! it's that guy from the video!
Yang looked at her quizzically, her head moving back to the armored man her eyes widening before turning back to Ruby.
Yang: Ohmygosh! You're right!
The armored man, satisfied with the result, turned back towards the family, speaking to Ruby's uncle Qrow.
Armored man: Qrow, do you know these people?
Qrow snapped out of his shock before replying.
Qrow: these are my two nieces, Vader. Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long, and their Father Taiyang.
Vader stared at the girl, Yang, she had a shocking resemblance to her mother.
Vader: It was a pleasure meeting you.
Vader began walking down the road, only to be stopped by a red blur in front of him.
Ruby: M-Maybe you could stay for dinner tonight?
Vader stared at Ruby with cold, unemotional helmet. Ruby made a puppy eyes look before Vader spoke again.
Vader: Very well.

Vader sat on the couch as Ruby asked several questions about his weapon.
Ruby: I saw on the video that your sword was able to cut through the Grimm like butter! How does it do that? Is it powered by dust to make the blade energized? Doe-
Qrow: Okay Ruby, I think that's enough questions for now.
Vader turned to speak to Ruby unclipping his lightsaber.
Vader: It's quite alright Qrow. No, the blade is not powered by dust but by something much more powerful.
Vader ignited his lightsaber, a crimson blade extending from the hilt, making a small hum.
Vader: My old master once said that my weapon is an extension of myself. A way to funnel my power, It is my life and I should never lose it.
Ruby inched closer to touch the blade, Vader quickly moved it away before she could though.
Vader: This blade can cut through metal effortlessly, It won't end well if you touch it.
Ruby inched back at this, taking Vader's warning to heart. Vader pressed a button on the hilt, the blade hummed and became dimmer, putting it on the training setting. After doing this, Vader handed the lightsaber to Ruby, who examined it eagerly.
Ruby waved it around before touching the blade to her skin, she yelped as a burning sensation was applied to her skin.
Vader: Even though it is on the training setting, the blade can still sting if you come in contact with it.
Ruby nodded at this before handing the blade to an eager Yang who waved it around, Qrow backed up out of the blade's range, while Vader only smiled.
Satisfied with the blade, Yang handed it back to Vader, who deactivated it before clipping it back to his belt.
Yang: What's your semblance anyways?
Vader: I... Do not fully understand what a semblance is.
Qrow: Really? That wasn't your semblance lifting that bullhead wreckage off yourself?
Vader shook his head.
Vader: No, that was the force.
Taiyang: Well, a semblance is an inner power that comes from the soul, each person has a relatively unique one. While sometimes, semblances can be passed down hereditary-wise. Is that what the force is?
Vader: No... The force is an energy that resides in all living things, the force was created by life, and thus every life form has some essence of the force within them. Few people have the ability to manipulate the force. Observe.
Vader stretched out his hand slightly and lifted the coffee table off the ground, slowly floating as if there was no gravity at all. Vader then lightly set the table back on the ground.
Yang: So that's what the force allows you to do? Move stuff without touching it?
Vader: That is one of the many abilities force wielders can do and one of the simpler ones. The force can also allow a person to infiltrate someone's mind, heal themselves or allies from wounds, sense lifeforms surrounding them, or see somewhat into the future. The force can also be physically represented.
Vader focused on his rage, extending his hand, red lightning zapped between his fingers.
Vader: All though, so far, I have yet to sense or come in contact with another force-sensitive being on this planet.
This sat with the family as they absorbed the information provided to them. The silence was accompiad by Vader's breathing, the silence was then broken by Ruby speaking up.
Ruby: Wait... This planet? What do you mean by that?
Vader: Ah, I thought it would have been obvious. I am not from this World.
The family sat in silence, trying to process what Vader had said, he wasn't from this planet? Was he an alien? Could that explain his armor and weapons?
Vader crossed his arms in anticipation of the barrage of questions he was about to receive.
Ruby: S-Since your not from Remnant does that make you an alien?
Vader: Technically, Yes, even though I am still human.
Vader: I was born on the planet Tatooine, I was trained on the planet Coruscant to become a Jedi, one of the groups of people that wield the force. The Jedi primarily focus on peace, using force without emotions. The sith are the second group of force wielders, they use their emotions to fuel their power, their fear, hatred, rage, and sadness.
Taiyang had heard enough he walked over to the kitchen, preparing dinner.
Qrow: So... What does that make you then?
Vader: Currently... I don't ally with each side. I was once a great Jedi, I was then a great sith. Now... I don't know what side I belong on.
Vader sat there quietly for a few minutes, the family sat there awkwardly. Vader then unclipped his lightsaber and put it in his palm.
Vader: The weapon used by force-wielders is the lightsaber.
Vader then concentrated o the force, the lightsaber floated into the air, deconstructing itself. The lightsaber split into several pieces, revealing the kyber crystal.
Vader: The color of your kyber crystal shows what color your blade will be. Kyber crystals are able to interact with the force, which makes them an incredible power source.
Ruby watched in amazement as the lightsaber re-formed itself placing the kyber crystal in the middle. Vader let the lightsaber float down to his hand and clipped back to his belt.

Vader sat at the head of the table, patiently awaiting the meal prepared by Taiyang. It was a simple stew with salad, but Vader was grateful for the hospitality.
As Vader watched, Taiyang placed bowls in front of all the seats, one for stew and one for salad. Vader watched as he poured stew into one each bowl, and placed a large bowl of salad in the middle of the table, along with slices of bread.
As Taiyang sat, Vader picked up one of the utensils, only to be stared at by the rest of the family. Wondering what they were looking at, realization dawned on Vader. He brought up his arms and slowly removed his helmet, slowly decompressing as the air was released from inside.
Removing his helmet, Vader placed it on the table next to himself.
Qrow: Huh... didn't expect you to look like that. You being an alien and all.
Vader ignored the comment and began slowly eating the stew, blowing on it since it was still hot. As the group continued eating, Vader observed how they ate, trying to replicate the same actions that they performed.
Yang made a few jokes, making Vader smile in response, and even laugh at a few of them. As the food slowly disappeared, Ruby asked a question.
Ruby: So Vader... Do you have any family back home?
The table stopped as they slowly turned to face him, Vader's smile turned into a sad expression. He placed his elbows on the table and rested his face on his hands.
Vader: I... Have a daughter and a son.
Ruby: That's great! What about a wife.
Vader twitched at this comment, his eyes went to the table. Taiyang immediately understood the gesture and turned to speak, but was cut off by Vader.
Vader: She...Died during childbirth.
The energy in the house dropped incredibly, each person looked at Vader with a sympathetic look. Especially Taiyang.
Taiyang: I'm... sorry to hear about that.
Vader: I... had a brother (thinks about Obi-wan) who died due to my actions along with my sister. (thinks about Ahsoka)
Vader leaned back in his chair, everyone looking at him with sadness and sympathy in their eyes. Vader looked to the floor and saw Zwei, who had his two front paws on his leg with his head slightly tilted.
Vader reached down and scratched behind the ear of the little dog, smiling slightly. Sitting back up Vader's eyes widened, immediately standing, Vader called his helmet towards him as he rushed out the door.
The family looked at each other, before following Vader out the door.
Ruby: Mr. Vader what's wrong?
Vader had his helmet back on he was scrolling through visual options, before replying with a mechanical voice.
Vader: They're here.
Vader ignited his lightsaber.
Yang: Who's hea - ?
Yang was cut off by the sound of beowulfs howling.
