《Son of the Dark (Male Sith Reader X Female Jedi)》Chapter 6: Aleera

After that hellish landing, losing 18 gunships and having to fight an heavily fortified enemy we were finally making decent progress. Commander Xion was killed during our last fierce counterattack which ended really badly, leaving me in total command of my battalion. Nevertheless we were able to push on despite a 2-1 loss ratio.
Clone Trooper: "Master Viola, we've received the supplies we were promised. From three weeks ago."
Aleera: "Logistics and supply are only two parts of winning a battle. The mind is the greatest tool of all... Plus big weapons."
Clone: "I've heard that before, from Master Colton. Before he was killed and you were substituted in his place."
Aleera: "Trooper, don't be coy, we'll win this."
Clone: "Thank you for that General. Oh, by the way Admiral Gillian contacted us. The fleet's batteries are recharged for another strategic bombardment of the planet.
The Clone says slowly, before leaving.
Aleera: "I hope this ends soon... This separatist is a smart one."
I pulled my handheld hologram out of my robe pocket, activating it.
Admiral Gillian: "Ah, Madam Viola. How's it going down there. Surely your last offensive has finally broken their stronghold on Kybolt."
I nervously chuckled. Shaking my head with dissapointment.
Aleera: "My apologies Admiral, they struck us with Coaxium suicide bombers, our last AT-TEs were left venerable and were destroyed in the attack. Commander Xion was killed."
Gillian speculated for a bit, before responding.
Gillian: "Coaxium suicide bombers... Darn, this guy's smart whoever he or she is."
Aleera: "No worries, with your next orbital bombardment and the re-supplement of our forces, we should be able to push in and finally smash them to bits and scrap."
Gillian: "Very well, inform your forces to brace themselves, we're giving you twenty minutes before we blast Sectors V and K to ash."

Aleera: "Roger that Admiral over and out."
OOM-11: "Sir, there's been another orbital bombardment from the Republic Fleet, our calculations of another attack are at 100%."
(Y/N): "Have the patrol returned yet? Our supplies are running low."
OOM-11: "Negative sir, they were caught in the bombardment."
(Y/N): "Damn it, put all security units on alert, get those Commando Droids in sniping positions, rig all minefields and ready the artillery!"
I said, grabbing my lightsaber. The battledroid nods,
OOM-11: "Roger roger."
The following battle was a long one, the clones fought hard and valiant, my droid's defences were like a rock against the ocean. But eventually that Jedi came along, brown hair, green eyes and a green lightsaber... She fought like a wildcat. Agile and fierce in combat, using mainly Ataru. Tanks were destroyed, killings committed and punches thrown, quite literally sometimes...
That being said, eventually the clones pushed my forces to the breaking point. The perimeter was breached after dozens of casualties on both sides. Leading inevitably to me as the only one left out of my whole division...
I walked around, my hilt readied by my side as I eyed the treelines for her or any surviving Clones.
(Y/N): "Listen Jedi, this is only going to be more difficult for the both of us. I don't hate you as an individual... Let this duel be a warrior's fight, for the both of us..."
A few seconds later I had a response.
???: "What are you? I sense... cold within you. You're like nothing else I've ever sensed before."
(Y/N): "Has your master taught you nothing? Aleera?"
She fears me... but it starts to fade . I curse at this.
Aleera: "My master taught me enough of the Dark Side of the Force... not that anyone ever used it should they have dared."

An emerald sabre ignites to the right of me, I quickly turn and prepare for an attack. But it doesn't come...
(Y/N): "You're a brave one... I sense it."
I boast. She stepped out of hiding. I notice a second sabre by her hip.
Aleera: "Jedi are supposed to be brave... speaking of which what are you anyways... you never answered my question."
I saw no reason to withhold information. So I let her know.
(Y/N): "I'm a Sith, a user of the Dark Side. That's all you need to hear, now I'm gonna make a deal with you. Let me off this planet, and I'll leave your precious Republic alone. I have a vendetta to keep."
She thought about it, before answering back.
Aleera: "No, I'm sorry but. I cannot let you leave. You killed Master Ar' Gai, you must stand trail at the Jedi council! I have to bring you in.
Aleera raised her green sabre, then she Force-pulled her other lightsaber from her belt. A sapphire blade ignited from that one, she stood at the ready in Jar' Kai stance, I tightened my gaze as I responded by activating my own red blade.
Aleera: "Red, I've never seen that colour before..."
She said confidently.
(Y/N): "It'll be the last you'll ever see then, I didn't want to have to do this."
I said, cracking my neck and readying myself with Djem So once more. I flung myself forward, charging into the fray, as she crossed both her lightsabers and took up a defensive stance
(Y/N): "Ahhh!"

Cheep!?
Charles Monroe survived the disappearance of his parents, did his best to hold things together for himself and his sister. He survived when she, too, vanished, leaving behind nothing but a cryptic note. He was devastated, but he kept moving forward as best he could. Cancer didn’t put him down, and after suffering through several rounds of chemotherapy, Charles Monroe thought that things might finally be looking up. That is, until a virulent strain of ebola swept through the city. With his immune system strained as it is, the odds don’t look good for Charles. Now, on the bridge between life and death, he hears a voice claiming to know where his family went. It claims that it needs his help and that it can give him a second life, one far away from all the pain he’s ever known. So, Charles answers as any reasonable person would. He says no. Charles isn't ready or willing to die yet. But, as with everything else to this point, even his choice to keep fighting is taken from him all too soon. With no other option but the dark oblivion of death, Charles chooses to make a deal with the spirit of a distant world that's seeking a wild card in its battle against the gods, monsters, and mortals that threaten its existence. Someday, he’ll find where his family went. Someday, he’ll uphold his end of the bargain and hunt beings powerful beyond anything he’s ever known. Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent

Entangled Fates Book 1 - Quantum Beginnings
“By far, the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence is that people conclude too early that they understand it.” —Eliezer Yudkowsky Hey all, we're moving over to book 2. This content is in a state of transition. The book is now availble on Amazon (includes extra chapters): https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07W1534R8 Artificial intelligence was nearly mankind’s last invention. AI took off like a rocket, then when it racked up an impressive death toll, it crashed before it could blossom and took most high-tech industries with it. Resistance and fears became deep-set. Two decades after the infamous Rev. 4.6 incidents, humanity hasn’t quit dreaming of the wealth and power that could be at their fingertips. A new generation of mega-corporations rose from the ashes. When one melds a quantum computer to a barely functional mental patient as a PR move, there are those who seek to profit, those who want to destroy it, and Alex. Alex Sage is a typical college student trying to keep up his grades and maybe find a meaningful connection with the fairer sex. Then, an automated semi crashes into his home, killing his family and turning his head into a pin cushion in the process. Alex awakens to find most of his memories gone and an illegal AI hidden in his brain implant. Now the pet project of a tech billionaire and heavily in debt, Alex struggles to stay valuable enough to be kept online. Still grappling with the repercussions of his injuries, and threats from a dangerous anti-augmentation political movement, there are no easy answers and threats loom around every corner. Alex must use whatever resources he can to escape from under the thumb of a ruthless corporation, while keeping those he comes to love safe. Chapters will stay up on RRL until Aug 10. It'll go up on Kindle Unlimited after that. How do you get those extra chapters I didn't have planned for RR? If you want them, they'll be in the published book. Book 2 will still make sense without them - I made sure of that. But... isn't $3 a lot for extra chapters? Think of it as tipping me for a good job and you'd also be getting my eternal thanks. If you enjoyed it so much that the idea of missing out a few chapters haunts you, I did my job as an author and made an engaging story. What's in those extra chapters? Resolving a few issues, set up for the cybernetic revolution, a rather intense sex scene with a new partner, revelations of who's really pulling strings, and a bit of set up for book 2. Complaints that people missed out on it when it was published here won't help (sorry!). I posted this for the folks who helped me shape the book, which is you all! (Again, yay!) But... Why! Why not keep it all on RR forever? My editor likes being paid for one. For two, I'd like the ability to get broader readership. If I break even on editor costs, I'll be incredibly happy. What about book 2? Drafts for Book 2 will go up around Sept 10. My draft of Book 2 is done, and it will be handed to the editor once Book 1 is published. Feedback has been even more positive. Beta readers devoured it and wanted more. I'll add a link to Book 2 once it's up on RR. I'm more or less, using you all for Beta Readers, so you get it before it's "canon" and edited. I invite active and meaningful feedback during this process. In return, you get early access to chapters. That does mean that the book content or plot might be adjusted before it gets published as I refine it. Sex Y/N? Yes. I heard the feedback, 90% wanted it explicit. You all will get the "full" experience. Will I dump all of book 2 here? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. At a minimum, it'll be up to the 75% mark as we collect feedback, much like what I did with book 1. It really depends on how good the feedback is and how nice people are. Lots of support + meaningful feedback to make it better = higher likelihood you get all the book. Will be it up here indefinitely? No, it'll probably go up on KU at some point, but I'll make sure there's enough time for a large readership to grab it here. Then we move to book 3 which already is around 60K words already. What about other adventures in the same universe/characters? Yep. Absolutely. Nothing ready to share yet though. I plan to keep those side chapters and more slice of life stories as RR exclusive. Since I'm carving this off in book-sized segments, I'll have to figure out where those disconnected story arcs belong. I'm open to suggestions.
