《Stuck With Him: Kai Parker》35

Gasping my eyes flung open and I rose up into a sitting position. My hands went to my spinning head and I cleared my throat to calm down the burning sensation. I coughed slightly and felt my stomach ache.
I thought and gasped, pressing my hands onto my stomach.
I coughed and felt tears fill in my eyes. "My baby!" I cried out loud, while the tears rolled down my cheeks.
Standing up onto my feet, I whimpered and held my stomach. "I need Jo." I mumbled, spotting my phone across the floor and picked it up.
I skipped past and ignored the missed calls and unanswered texts from everyone and dialed Jo's number. "Hello." She sounded sleepy, I probably had woken her since it was early in the morning.
"Jo." I coughed and gasped, resting my hand on the wall to balance myself. My voice broke from my sobs and my throat was burning. "Jo, something happened. Something is wrong with me."
I heard movement. "What?" She sounded frantic. "What happened, Riley?"
I sniffed. "I was walking home and Lily." I whined. "Jo, she made me drink her blood." Jo gasped. "I....I tried to say I was pregnant and she..."
"Riley, Riley please talk to me."
"Jo, she snapped my neck." I cried. "Now my throat is burning and-"
Jo gasped. "Oh my god."
"Jo, I don't know what to do." I whined, sobbing to myself. "What's happening to me?"
Jo paused for a moment. "Riley, you're in transition."
"What?"
Jo sighed. "Lily turned you into a vampire. If you don't drink human body, you'll die."
I nearly fell down at her words but managed to keep myself upright. "That bitch."

"My baby!" I cried to Jo, holding her wrist. She looked at me with a sympathetic gaze. "Jo, is my baby okay?"
Immediately after I ended my call with Jo, I ran to meet her at the hospital. It turned out that vampire speed was highly useful and I made it there in seconds.
Due to her high status, Jo was able to take me into a private section of the building to run some tests to understand what's happened.
I remembered that I fought a powerful urge to suck the blood that pumped around her body. I knew that Jo noticed this because she would occasionally give me a wary look and kept her distance.
Jo's eyes widened and she lifted up my shirt to look at my bump. I rested against the bed, running my hands down my face in sorrow.
I peek at Jo through my eyes. "Jo." My voice cracked and she glanced at me from a piece of paper in her hands. "My baby, is it..."
"I don't know, Riley." She told me and I whimpered. "You need to stay calm and let me do some tests." I nodded, hearing her heartbeat echo in my ears and the smell of her blood fill my nostrils.
I laid against the hospital bed and shut my eyes, my fists clenched at my sides to calm myself down. I told myself.
"Riley." Jo said. I opened my eyes and looked at her. "Your baby....." She paused and smile slightly with a laugh. "Its alive."

I gasped, my hands reaching up to touch my bump. "It's alive?" She nodded and I laughed, tears running down my cheeks with joy. "But how?"
"I have no idea." Jo said. "But it's possible that your baby could have its own magic." She began and my eyebrows raised. "So when you died, your magic and the baby's magic protected it."
"But I'm a vampire now." I said. "What will happened to the baby?"
She shrugged. "It's possible that your baby will also turn and it could even have its own magic too."
"So if I become a vampire, so will my baby as well as being a witch?"
Jo nodded. "Yes, Riley." She said. "And I would recommend that you don't tell anyone this."
"Tell no one?"
She shrugged. "Obviously there is the exception of close friends." She said. "But that's it, your baby and it's potential power must remain quiet."
I frowned. "Why?"
"People will see a vampire and a witch as a threat, especially the originals." Jo told me. "And some people could want your baby dead."
I shook my head, protecting my bump with my arms. "No one is touching my baby." I spat. Jo nodded. "Wait, do I still have magic?"
"I don't think so." She said. "I think it was used to protect your baby while you were dead." Jo assumed and I nodded. I was never a huge user of my magic but it felt weird not having it.
"Jo...." I started. "Is there any...um..."
"Yes." She handed me a blood bag and I sat up, holding it in my hands. I felt my teeth extend and touched my fangs, jumping slightly and felt them go back up.
Jo chuckled and rested her hand on my back. "Riley, it's going to be okay." She reassured with a warm smile. I nodded. "I'll call Damon to come and collect you because, no offence but I don't wanna to be bitten."
I laughed a little. "None taken and do call him." She nodded and left me alone with just the blood bag in my hands.
It was cool and I pressed on the bag slightly, watching the red substance squish around the bag. With shaking hands, I opened the bag and felt my mouth water from just the scent of the blood.
I thought, shutting my eyes slightly because the smell made my desire grow.
"Here's to humanity." I toasted to no one, before I took away my humanity. The blood touched my tongue and the tangy sweetness exploded in my mouth.
My throat no longer burning and my instincts overcame me. I chugged down the bag, not quitting until I had every drop of blood from the bag.
I sucked in a sharp breath, licking my lips to catch the blood I missed. I thought, wiping my mouth with my hand.
I thought, feeling the burning sensation fade away from my throat but my stomach growled for more and I rested my hands over it.
"Calm down, Riley." I told myself, keeping my hands on my stomach.
My baby was demanding more blood and I found it difficult to restrain myself and my urges. The hunger was slowly taking over my body and I bit down hard on my lip.

I could hear Jo's heartbeat, her pulse, smelling the sweet blood that swam throughout her veins. My mouth watered at the smell.
"Don't." I whispered to myself, my hands in my hair to stay calm.
Her heartbeat echoed in my ears and within my head, my fangs seeped out piercing lower lip.
I thought.
I sighed, hearing something being thrown and my hand snapped up and catch the object. I thought, looking at what it was. It was another blood bag and Stefan stood in the doorway, Damon next to him.
Damon smirked and chuckled. "Welcome to life as a vampire, Riley."

"Ow!" I yanked my hand back away from the sunlight that shone through my bedroom window. I watched the skin sizzle and burn but it healed in a matter of seconds.
"Screw you sun." I muttered, backing into the dark corner.
I hated those days when I was trapped inside of my own bedroom. After my brief introduction to Vampirism by Damon and Stefan, it didn't take long for the two of them to notice my larger appetite.
So, as Stefan referred to it as 'saving me from myself' I was locked inside my bedroom. Damon gave me ball because he found my constant whining of how bored I was somewhat irritating. So, I bounced the ball against the wall and caught it, to keep myself occupied.
My stomach rumbled and I whined, I drank a lot of blood, the most had been around ten bags in a day. That day didn't end well because I threw up and Damon was not pleased as he was responsible for cleaning it up. So he decided to cut down my amount of blood to four bags maximum.
The brothers tried to change the blood to animal's, but I threw it back up. That's when I realised my baby only liked human blood.
On the other hand, I had been gaining self control because I managed to speak to Liv and Bonnie and didn't rip out their throats.
I huffed and drummed my fingers against my stomach. Jo told me the speed of my pregnancy would increase. And boy was she right. I was already showing, even though I was suppose to be only a few weeks, I looked about three months along.
Ric and Jo had their wedding coming up. I was invited, but everyone was worried that wouldn't be able to handle it and control myself even though I thought I could cope.
I sighed, bouncing the ball against the wall and caught it. My highest record was 379, but I ruined my chance to beat it when I accidentally threw it hard and it hit my face.
It hurt like hell and hit me right in the eye.
My stomach rumbled and I rolled my eyes. I only had half a blood bag left. Damon brought it up, about two hours ago. He clearly told me, that the next bag was coming in four hours.
So I had to ration my takes of blood which resulted in small sips when needed. I huffed, pushing the blood away from me to keep myself in control and went back my game.
I called it, Bounce.
"Can I leave now?" I asked Elena, turning my head to her. I held the ball in my hand and raised a brow. I heard her walk up the stairs and into my room.
"You know you can't, Riley." She replied. I whined.
"Its been days." I complained. "I'm fine and I won't kill anybody."
"Riley, just wait a few more days."
I looked away from her and frowned. "Whatever."
"I brought up your bag." Elena said and I looked back at her. In her hands was Zeke and I smiled when she handed me my bag.
"Thank you." I said and she smiled. Using my vamp speed, I didn't hesitate to snap her neck and move before her body hit mine on the way to the floor. "Sorry Elena, but I'm in desperate need for some fresh away." I apologised, swiping her ring.
I slid on my finger, testing my hand in the sunlight. No pain occurred and I cheered with relief, throwing Zeke on my back before I climbed out my bedroom window.
"It feels nice to be outside." I hummed hopping down from the tree. My feet touched the ground and I sighed in relief, walking down the pavement. I inhaled a deep breath but regretted it when all I could smell was blood, lots of blood.
I bit my lip and scrunched my hands into fists as I swallowed a hard lump in my throat. I soon entered the town and the smell heightened, especially when I pasted so many humans. All of their heartbeats echoing around me and the scent of their blood invading my nostrils.
I thought, shaking my head.
I had to leave and so I did. I ran through the streets, shoving many humans out of my way until the smell of blood was faded and all that consumed my fresh grass. Sighing in relief, I sat down underneath a tree.
I rested my head against the tree and shut my eyes, covering my face with my hands. "You need to calm down Riley."
"You could just flip it."
My eyes flew open and I moved my hands away, looking around. "Kai." I kept looking but didn't see anyone around me.
"Think of it Ri, if you switch off your humanity then there's no guilt stopping you."
"You're not real." I snapped out to the air in front of me. "Kai's gone."
"Ri, switch off your humanity. Make things easier."
"Stop." I whimpered, covering my eyes and felt my tears moisten my skin. "Stop it, Kai's gone."
"If you want the pain to go, you know what to do Ri."
My shaking hands held my cheeks and I bit my lip. "I can't."
"What's holding you back?"
"I..." I trailed off because I knew there hadn't been any too serious holding me back. After all, Kai was gone and my friends didn't trust me.
My eyes shut and I listened to what Kai's voice had told me.
