《Stuck With Him: Kai Parker》33

I broke down into a fit of laughter and set my glass down so I didn't topple it over. The thought itself just made my laughter increase and I held my stomach.
After a few moments, I calmed down and took deep breath. I wiped away my tears and sighed. "I'm not pregnant."
Jo rolled her eyes. "Have you and Kai ever slept together?"
"When didn't they sleep together?" Liv said and I scoffed. "You guys couldn't keep your hands off each other."
"It was Kai's fault, I couldn't take two steps without him-" Jo cleared her throat and I stopped talking. "Sorry."
She smiled. "Thank you, but Riley I highly recommend that you take a pregnancy test."
"I've already taken one." I reassured Jo. "And it was negative."
The pair of sisters stared at me. "When?"
"When Kai and I were coming back from our little adventure, he also thought I was pregnant but the test came back as negative."
"How many tests did you do?"
"Only the one."
"You only took one?" Liv repeated and I gave her a look.
"Isn't that what you're supposed to do?" I shrugged. "Take a test, a being singular."
Neither of them spoke and I felt sick to my stomach and dryly chuckled. "You're messing with me."
"I'm not Riley, I can assure you." Jo said. "Have you been experience morning sickness or particular cravings for certain foods."
"You've been a lot of marshmallows lately." Liv commented and I shot her a glare.
"You're not helping." I hissed and she held up her hands with a shrug.
"You and Kai should kept to the condoms then."
"We did." I paused and grimaced. "We kinda did."
"Riley, Riley, Riley." I hummed to Liv, leaving my memories.
"Sorry." I said. "My mind was elsewhere." I told them, looking over at Jo. "Anyway Jo, so let's say I am what you said."
"Riley, if you're saying that you and Kai had unprotected sex then there is a high chance."
"But I was on the pill."
"Not always effective." Liv sang.
"Liv." I hissed. "A few times, isn't that bad."
"Dear God." Liv uttered, shaking her head.
I glanced between the two of them. "It isn't that bad, right?"
"Riley, all it takes is one time." Liv told me, Jo nodded in agreement.
Kai's word repeating in my head and I choked on a sob, wiping my eyes.
"But I can't be pregnant." I snapped, controlling my wobbly voice. I whined and put my hands in my hair "No, I just can't be."
Liv put her arm around me. "Everything will be fine-"
"He will kill one of them Liv." I confessed to them, covering my mouth to conceal my sobs.
"Oh god." Jo gasped and rested her hand over her own pregnancy bump. Liv looked surprised too.
"But twins are very rare Riley." Liv told me, running my hand down my back for comfort.
"Liv, this is Mystic Falls everything always gone ten times wrong then intended." I told her, wiping my eyes and she chuckled. I sighed. "And besides, I might not even be pregnant."
"Riley, we need to get you tested." Jo told me and I hummed. "Just to be sure and if the results come back as positive then don't worry." She smiled. "You and your baby, regardless of how many there are, will be ultimately safe."

I smiled back slightly. "Thank you." I said and took a deep breath. "But for we know, this could be a false alarm and any moment I'm going to get my period."
"Not on my sofa you're not." I laughed at Jo's comment as did Liv.

"If this comes back as positive, I'm going to be so pissed. I do not want a baby right now, especially two of them." I cringed to myself and noticed Jo's look. My eyes widened. "Sorry, that was meant to be an inner monologue." She shook her head and chuckled to herself.
"Its alright, Riley." Jo replied, skimming reading over the documents in her hands. I swung my legs under the hospital bed and raised my eyebrows in anticipation.
"So....." I began, my curiosity had been eating me alive. "I'm not preg-"
"The results are positive." My stomach dropped and I gulped. "You're pregnant."
I kissed my teeth. "I think you did it wrong Jo or read the documents wrong." I said, trying to make sense of my own absurd knowledge. "There must be fault."
"I can assure you that I never make a mistake in my work." Jo simply said. "And these say that you are pregnant."
I shook my head. "I swear to god, I'm going to kill Kai-"
"But." Jo cut in and I looked up at her from my lap. "It's just one baby and you're only three weeks along so far."
"Three weeks." She nodded. "Then why did that other test say negative."
Jo shrugged. "I have no idea honestly."
I nodded and laid back down on the bed, placing my hand on my stomach. My fingers drummed against where my bump would eventually be and then I realised something. With a harsh gasp, I shot up and Jo raised her eyebrows in surprised.
"Riley, what-"
"Jo, I was drinking." I told her. "And I drank a lot. Will that affect the baby? Does it have an extra limb or something?"
She chuckled. "Riley pease calm down, your baby is perfectly healthy." Jo reassured me, her hand on my shoulder and I let out a deep breath. "Your drinking didn't seem to have a giant effect on the baby's development."
I sighed in relief and smiled. "Thank God, but I'm going to kill your brother." She laughed.
"You're not the only one who wants to." I laughed and Jo grinned. "Well, everything seems normal and stable. So you're fine to leave, Riley."
"Okay, thank you." I stood up from the bed. "This really helped and meant a lot."
"Nice tattoo." I heard her snigger from behind me. I groaned and yanked down my flannel that I stole from Kai.
"I lost a bet." I explained, fixing Zeke on my back. "And I got this from a drunk night out with Kai." I showed her my belly piercing. "And this." I added, flashing my wrist tattoo.
Jo laughed. "Liv mentioned that you two bet a lot."
"We were both competitive and it wasn't a good match." I said with a smile when I thought back to the memories.
"You two were something else." She said, I nodded with a smile as I stared at my wrist.
"We really we." I replied, glancing up at Jo. "Do you miss him?"
She seemed a little caught off guard. "I'm not sure, honestly." Jo shrugged. "Kai and I never had a normal brother sister relationship, since he always wanted me dead." I snorted a laugh and she smiled. "But after seeing him with you Riley, seeing how much he's changed, it was nice to see some light in him and I guess I miss seeing my brother act in a positive manner."

I nodded, wiping my eyes and Jo brought me into another warm hug. I hugged back. "I miss him Jo."
Jo ran her hand down my back. "He doesn't like being alone, he doesn't like it." I said, getting more upset at the thought of Kai alone once more.
She sighed, holding my shoulders to make me look at her. "Riley, Kai may be cocky, cruel, sarcastic and well really annoying." I smiled a little.
"Trust me, I know."
"But he's also my brother." Jo added. "Even if he's a little younger by his looks and I know that Kai's incredibly smart. He'll get out of the prison world."
I nodded and believed her even though, a part of me assumed it was false hope. "Thank you, Jo."
She smiled. "Anytime, Riley."

"What, in the world, are you eating?" Stefan questioned me, sitting himself next to me at the island in the kitchen.
I shrugged, looking down at my cucumber, chicken and peanut butter sandwich. "Food, since I'm a human."
"Riley, I've been alive for many years and I know that those foods aren't suppose to be together."
I shrugged. "I'm breaking the rules."
He chuckled and placed his hand in my shoulder, looking at me. I took another bite of my sandwich. "How are you, Riley?" I tended slightly and gulped.
"Never better."
Stefan sighed. "I understand that Kai being gone is hitting you hard." I shut my eyes for a while. "But you have to understand why Bonnie did what she did."
I kissed my teeth. "I do understand why she did it, Stefan." My words made him look stunned. "I'm not stupid, I know she hadn't truly forgiven him and Kai pissed everyone off, me especially."
He hummed, dropping his hand back onto his lap. "That's true."
"But, its that she didn't tell me. No one told me." I frowned. "It wasn't until I was too late to see him and that Kai was practically bleeding to death, did I realise what she'd done to him." I finished, clearing away my tears after I set down my sandwich.
"I know, that was uncalled for and definitely wasn't fair on you." Stefan told me.
"Stefan, I don't want your fake pity right now." I spat. "Especially since no one will help me bring him back."
"But if Kai somehow makes it back, who to say Lily's family doesn't come with him?"
I shook my head. "Kai's too selfish to consider saving anyone else but himself."
"Does that include you?"
I paused. "This doesn't even matter, you seem happy that he's gone anyways."
"Things in Mystic Falls have been a lot more smoother and safer without him."
"He isn't as bad as everyone sees him!" I snapped. "I understand that he's killed people but so has pretty much everybody else is this town."
"Riley, I don't know Kai." Stefan told me. "I've only seen Kai for his murders and the bad side. I haven't seen the side you have."
"He's not all bad." I mumbled and took a deep breath. He nodded and I huffed. "I'm sorry. I'm just all over the place."
"How come?" Stefan raised a brow and I shook my head.
"Its nothing." I lied. "I just miss Kai."
Stefan rows to his feet and took a step back to look at me. "No there's something else."
I rolled my eyes. "Stefan, there's nothing-"
"You're pregnant." Stefan interrupted me. I froze in my actions and forced out a laugh.
"Stefan you're ridiculous." I looked at him and he looked at me. "I'm not pregnant."
"Riley, I'm not stupid." He rpeoed. "Throughout the time I've known you, you've never been one to cry and just look at what you're eating."
Stefan pointed down st my food and I looked at it as well. "I thought I'd be creative today."
"Riley." He sighed. "The truth."
I bit my lip and sighed. "Don't tell anyone."
"Who else knows?"
"Jo, Liv and maybe Ric." I said. "I only found out today."
"Well most of us are vampires Riley, and we'll hear the heartbeat soon." I cursed. "But I won't say anything."
"I don't want anyone to know yet." I stood up and walked over to the sink, pouring myself a glass of water.
"Kai's." I jumped at Damon's voice behind me and almost dropping my glass.
"Damon." I cursed, turning around to face him. He smirked, shaking his head as he held his glass of bourbon. "Hello to you too." I replied, sipping my drink.
"What's been up with you lately?" Damon wondered, raising his eyebrows.
"Elaborate in what you mean."
Damon shrugged, stepping into the kitchen. "You've been moody one minute, crying the next and eating a lot."
"Well sorry for missing my boyfriend who you left to die." I glared and he winked.
Damon shook his head and cringed, sipping his bourbon and walked over to me. "What is this?"
He held up my plate that had my sandwich and looked at Stefan who just shrugged.
"It's my lunch." I replied. "Now hand it back."
Damon looked disgusted when he watched me take another bite and moved away. "That's disgusting." He said. "What's wrong with you? Eating weird foods, emotions all over the place. It's like you're pregnant or something."
I pursed my lips together, setting down my sandwich. Damon stood up straighter and noticed my sudden change in body language. "This is the part where you call me an ass for saying that Riley."
I didn't reply and rested my head in my hands, before I looked at him. "I do wish I could say that Damon."
His jaw dropped. "Wait, you are pregnant?" His eyes fell down my stomach.
"Yes."
Damon looked mad. "Where you going to tell me?" He looked at his brother. "Did you know about this?"
"Recently, just before you came in."
Damon shook his head kissing his teeth. "That weasel."
"Leave Kai out of this Damon, like you left him in the prison world alone." I defended Kai and Damon rolled his eyes finishing the last of his drink.
"Wait, are you keeping this baby?"
I nodded. "That's the plan."
"Why?" He cringed. "Why cursed the world with a mini Kai Parker? The guy is a psycho and a murder."
"He's also the father of my baby which I am going to keep." I frowned. "And don't call Kai those names."
Damon threw his hands in the air and shook his head. "Whatever, defend him again, picturing to me to the amazing golden boy you see him as."
"Piss off Damon."
He rolled his eyes. "You know, part of me wishes that he makes it out of that prison world and when faced with saving himself or you." He paused and shrugged. "He'll prove you wrong and save himself, leaving you and the baby dead."
"Damon stop!" Stefan yelled at his brother, resting his hand on my shoulder.
Damon went to leave the kitchen but stopped him and looked at me. "Congratulations by the way, Riley." He added, before he left.
I fought back my tears. "Thanks." I muttered, resting my hands over my stomach.
