《Stuck With Him: Kai Parker》27

"Its not funny, Kai." I repeated while he laughed. I groaned, rolling my eyes and covered up my wrist.
It turned out I had a brand new tattoo on my left wrist with a little pattern and the letters R and K included.
Why I agreed into getting it done, I had no idea. I have a feeling I was very drunk.
"Wait." Kai finally spoke when he stopped laughing. "Let me see it again."
I scoffed and punched his arm hard, he held it. "Ow, what the hell?" He cursed, I grinned. "Why are you grinning?"
"Kai, I never felt that."
"So that means....."
"We aren't linked." I cheered. Kai shook his head at me. "Don't link us again. I want to enjoy not almost dying fifty thousands times a day."
He shrugged. "Fine, Ri."
I nodded. "Good, now let's get breakfast I am starving."
"I swear you're always hungry."
"I swear you're always annoying."
"Ouch, that one hurt Ri." Kai said. I laughed nudging his arm and he grinned. "So, I guess you're mine." He suddenly said as we went downstairs.
"Excuse me?" I asked, my eyebrows shot up.
"Well the letter of my name, permanently marked on you." Kai explained with a smug smile as he looked in the fridge for food.
I thought.
"Is there anything to eat?" I asked, hopping on a counter.
"Egg, do you want an omelette?" Kai suggested. I nodded and he shut the door placing down a dozen eggs. "Then make one."
I gave him a look, and he laughed. "Haha, so funny." I faked laughed. Kai rolled his eyes, getting the equipment to cook the omelette.
"I try, Ri." Kai said, I rolled my eyes but smiled at his stupidity.
"What time is it?" I asked Kai, rubbing my eyes.
It was bright outside but Kai and I had just woken up not long ago. I was in his shirt and my underwear as Kai was simply wearing his boxers.
"Nearly twelve."
"Alright then." I yawned. "Is there a spell to remove tattoos?"
"Why? That's a great tattoo."
I frowned but noticed something on his wrist. Reaching over, I grabbed his wrist. "Okay, ow." I bursted out in a fit of laughter when I realised. "What?"
"Ha, take that Malachai." I showed him the matching tattoo he had. Kai's eyes widened and his jaw dropped, I laughed even more, holding my stomach.
"What the hell?"
"We must've been linked as one of us got the tattoo." I said, he hummed. "What happened last night anyway?"
"Not sure, we drank for a while. Then I think you got the tattoo, I don't remember breaking the spell though. Oh wait....I did it after you were about to pierce your stomach."
"I what?" I exclaimed, lifting my shirt as I hopped off the counter. I gasped, I had a brand new piercing on my belly button.
"I guess its not that bad." I muttered, dropping down my shirt and Kai shook his head. "Then what happened?"
"We....." He paused, biting his lip as he thought. "Came here and kissed which lead to having sex in your bedroom." Kai smirked, noticing my second lasting blush.
"Alright then."

"Finally you made it." Damon sighed as Kai and I came downstairs, now showered and dressed.
We ate and got ready, he stole some clothes from Damon's room, just a simple black jeans and white shirt. I wore a plaid skirt with a crop tank top.
"Hello to you too." I replied, rolling my eyes once we sat on the sofa. Kai placed me on his lap. I moved off but he put me back, I looked back at him. "Seriously, we're doing this again?"
"Yep." He nodded. I sighed and sat between his legs.
"So what's wrong?" I asked anyone, crossing my leg over the other.
"What's on your wrist?" Elena asked.
"Skin." I covered my tattoo. Kai did the same.
"What else?" Elena asked, rolling her eyes.
"Nothing." I lied.
"I swear I saw som-"
"Elena, you're obviously going blind. Damon what is it you want?" Kai interrupted. I let out a deep breath while Elena and Damon glared as did Bonnie.
"Stefan turned off his humanity." Bonnie told us, I raised my eyebrows.
"When did he do this?"
"Last night."
I brought my eyebrows together in confusion. "But I saw Stefan this morning." I said, making them look as confused as I was.
"He was here this morning?" Damon asked, I nodded.
"He opened my curtains saying I should get up. I ignored him and saw him leave the room. He looked normal."
"Stefan always seems normal without his humanity." Damon said, I nodded.
"Oh."
"So now what?" Kai asked, tracing patterns down my back. I shivered and he chuckled.
"Okay, Riley show me your wrist." Elena said, rising to her feet. I huffed but held out my wrist without the tattoo and she rolled her eyes. "The other one, there's something there I swear."
"Oooo." Damon beamed, looking interested.
I shook my head. "There's nothing there."
"Actually." Kai piped up which earned a look from me. Though, he ignored it like usually. "When Ri and I had our little adventure last night, we had a lot of fun but made a few mistakes."
And with that Kai revealed his tattoo for everyone to see, while I hid my face in shame.
The three of them leaned in to have a good look before exploding into laughter. I punched Kai's arm several times while he laughed too because I was glad that I couldn't feel it.
"Hurtful Ri." He said between laughs. I scoffed and Kai grinned showing his perfect teeth.
I fake smiled back and Kai kissed my forehead. "You two will never not
make me laugh." Damon said once he'd finally calmed down.
"Whatever." I stood up. "I would love to stay and chat but yeah I don't want to." I shrugged. "Plus I need to talk to Liv."
"Leaving me Ri?" Kai asked. I shrugged again, picking up Zeke from the floor. I fixed him on my back.
"You can come, but Liv doesn't really like you and may try to murder you." I paused. "Scratch that, she will try and murder you." Kai scoffed and stood up.
He winked. "She doesn't scare me."
"Are you wearing my clothes?" Damon questioned Kai with his arms crossed over his chest.
I snorted a laugh. Kai looked at himself and shrugged. "I am, but only because majority of my clothing is now torn or thrown around Riley's room."

My eyes widened and I punched his arm again. Kai winked and I shook my head. Bonnie cringed as did Elena. Damon looked green. "I know, I heard you two last night."
"So did I." Elena muttered.
"I'm so glad, I'm not a vampire." Bonnie said and I laughed.
"With you there." I said, taking Kai's arm and dragging him. "Okay lovely chat but we have to go and chat to Liv."
"Bye friends." Kai waved, earning glares from the three of them. "Why do I get the feeling they don't like me?"
I shrugged. "No clue, I mean you only left Bonnie in a prison world, kidnapped Elena and tricked Damon into stabbing her."
Kai rolled his eyes. "Yeah, whatever." He kissed my cheek and I laughed.
"What exactly are we?" I finally asked him, it was bugging me for ages that we hadn't made things official.
"Human, well witches if you want to be specific." Kai replied, I rolled my eyes.
"No shit, Malachai." He chuckled. "Its just, I mean we've kissed, spent two years in a prison world and slept together. So what does that make us?"
Kai bit his lip, for a while as he thought before answering. "Depends, are you willing to be my girlfriend?"
"Woah, hold on I need a minute." I said, pausing for a few seconds. We walked in silence and Kai sighed.
"Come on, Ri."
I laughed. "I was thinking."
He raised a brow. "And?"
I shrugged. "And I guess things could be worse."
"What's worse than me? Haven't you seen this face." He pointed at himself. "I'm perfect."
I laughed. "If anything, I'm perfect. Have you not seen this face?" I pointed at myself with a smile.
"Yes, its cute." Kai said, kissing my forehead.
"You know what we should do?" I said, remembering something.
"Have sex again?" He took my hand and started to drag me. "Alright then, there's an alleyway round the corner."
"Oh yeah totally." I said, sarcastically. Kai smirked and continued dragging me. I stopped walking, rolling my eyes. "Kai, I'm joking."
He sighed, pouting adorably. "Not funny, Ri."
I rolled my eyes. "Anyway, we should do this thing called the cinnamon challenge. I saw it the other day online."
"What is it?" Kai asked, whilst we walked again.
"Well, you basically swallow a spoonful of cinnamon in sixty seconds." I explained, he looked confused but nodded.
"Let's do it." He said then we made it to Liv's. I knocked the door. Liv answered, her eyes widened, then she glared at Kai before slamming the door.
"Liv." I called, knocking the door.
She reopened it. "So you remember everything I heard about that. Congrats, now please leave I don't want to be near him." Liv hissed at Kai.
Kai held his hands in defence. "I come in peace." He defended, but she ignored him still glaring.
"I just want to talk." I said.
"Riley, we'll talk." Liv paused, giving Kai the deadliest glare. "Without him." And with that she shut the door again on us.
I sighed. "So I guess she doesn't like me either." I heard Kai say, I rolled my eyes but had to grin at his stupidity.
"You're just lucky I like you." I said, he shrugged kissing my cheek.
"I know, you are my girlfriend after all."
I hummed. "Oh the joys."

"Are you challenging me?" I asked Kai, raising my eyebrows.
"Maybe I am." He moved in close, his face inches from my own. I felt his mint breath on me. "So what do you say, Ri?"
"Challenge accepted, Malachai." We shook hands and I grinned as he smirked.
We were about to start the cinnamon challenge but Kai believed he could beat me in lasting longer. So we agreed that whoever lasted the longest got to choose whatever we watched tonight.
I wanted to watch Pretty Little Liars, Kai wanted a horror movie fest.
"Ready to lose?" I asked. Kai laughed, as we held our spoons. In all honesty, I was panicking, I had seen reactions of the challenge and none looked pleasant.
"I'm ready to win, Ri." Kai corrected, I scoffed. We were in the kitchen, sitting opposite each other at the table.
"On three." I said, he nodded. "One...two..." I paused, taking a deep breath. "Three."
Kai and I shoved the cinnamon in our mouths. My eyes widened because my first instinct was to spit it out. I covered my mouth with my hand trying not to cough it out.
The powder was going down my throat making my urge to cough stronger by the second. I bashed my fist on the table and inhaled harshly. Kai even looked uncomfortable but gave me the thumbs up.
I rolled my eyes and shifted in my seat, resisting my need to cough because I'd lose the bet if I did. Instead I closed my eyes, bouncing my leg while attempted to swallow the cinnamon.
We were thirty seconds in and neither of us had caved in. I looked at Kai, who was staring at the table with his hands in his hair.
A few more moments passed and we continued to sit there, face to face. Neither of us had caved in.
Until Kai finally had.
I thought, allowing my body to cough. Brown dust, leaving my mouth while I rushed to my feet.
Kai coughed into the sink, practically throw up. I did the same but in the bin. "What is all of this-what the hell?" I glanced and saw Damon, giving Kai and I dearly glares.
"What the hell is this?" He kissed his teeth. "You two are moving out soon and I want this kitchen sparkling, especially that sink."
He looked around the room then shook his head, before he left. I heard him mutter something but couldn't make out what he said.
"Why did we do this?" I asked Kai, coughing out powder and cinnamon.
He looked at me, coughing into his hand. "I don't even like cinnamon."
"Water, I need water." I said, going to the fridge. I grabbed a bottle of water, chucking one at Kai, and chugged down the water.
I coughed some up, spitting it into the bin. My throat burned, eyes watering and I knew it was a dumb idea. Kai was in the same condition.
"Kai." I said after a few minutes of just us drinking and refreshing our throats. He looked at me with his eyebrows raised. "I won." I cheered with a smirk.

MC has a unique advantage but is not massively overpowered and there's more of a focus on exploring and discovering new things rather than defeating a series of arch-nemesis' or building an empire. 8 119The London Phantom: A Superhero Webnovel
London is an old city. It has survived floods, fires, plagues and the man-made smog of industry. It has stood firm against the armies of Vikings, Saxons, Normans and the aerial might of the Luftwaffe. It has borne witness to dynsatic feuds, civil wars, military occupation and the sin of regicide. Through all these disasters the city has survived not through force of arms, though its walls were once the envy of the world, but through adapting to the times. Enemies become dependant on the city, and the wealth of the world that flows through it, and so become new allies. If the rulers change, then the city welcomes them with open arms, and open lines of credit. In this way the city seeks to preserve its ancient rights and position of power. Superheroes are a new phenomenon. The first superpowered man walked out of the Nevada desert in 1950, and the world was forever changed. Across the planet, men and women with exceptional abilities made themselves known. At first, they were little more than another source of fear in the era of Mutually Assured Destruction, but over time attitudes changed and the concept of the Superhero was created in the city of Los Angeles. From there the phenomenon spread across the globe; superheroes went from being feared arms of the state to a symbol of hope in these maddening times. Times have changed. Sixty years from the emergence of the first superhero, the City of London stands on a precipice. Two years have passed since the madman Fawkes nearly brought down the United Kingdom and the remnants of the Bow Street Runners, London's premier superhero team, are struggling to keep order in a city that seems on the brink of collapse. London stands on a knife's edge, with criminal organisations that once stuck to the shadows becoming more bold, and ancient powers from myth and legend making themselves known. Alexander Laszewski has recently 'awakened' and has become entirely unremakable, effectively making himself invisible to the world. He must use his newfound power to navigate a city on the edge of collapse. If only he could figure out how to turn it off.
