He ran into the room and I followed him inside

"What's wrong?" Aaron said

"Carful!" Alex said holding me with a hand and the other holding the coffee holder still before I could slip

"Thankyou" I whispered staring into Alex's ocean blue eyes that I always loved as he stared back

"Told you!" Ethan said with a smirk

"Ethan! I hate you!" I said as I stood up probably before placing the coffee on the table

"What's wrong?" Katie said

"Nothing more than I hate Ethan" I said

"You're acting like a child Becca" Ethan said

"She's still a child" Aaron said

"Yeah I am still" I said crossing my arm

After having some chats while drinking coffee, Katie, Ethan and Aaron were leaving so I went down with them to say goodbye while Alex stayed with eve up

"we can drive you" Aaron said to Katie

"No thankyou, I drove her by myself" she said "B, I love you, take care of yourself"

"I love you too, you too, and thanks for coming" I said

"it's nothing" she said with a smile Before saying goodbye to both of them and leaving

"Thankyou guys for coming" I said

"It's nothing darling" Aaron said

"Yeah i think being with you And alex getting close to each other is better than working" Ethan said

"Ethan!" I said

"What? I ship you both" he said

"Ethan, he's just the father of my daughter that's it!" I said

"Ethan stop, We gotta go, look after yourselves" Aaron said

"And Becca, you're a wonderful mother" he said before I gave him a smile as they left

I went up to Eve's room before stopping when. I heard Alex and Eve talking

"what's your favorite thing in the world?" He asked her

"um, Mommy is my favorite thing in the world, but I'm sad from her now, I also miss her, but I am sad" she said

"let's change the question, how about one wish you could make true" Alex said

"to get things with my mommy all good?" Eve said as Alex chuckled

"Is everything about your mother?" He asked her as she gave him a nod making me smile

"You know, your mother loves you a lot princess, she maybe hid you from me but look at us now, you know I'm your father now, you have us both, and you know it not completely her fault, it's mine too princess" Alex said

"so it's your fault too?" She asked

He sighed before answering her "yes princess when your mother was pregnant with you, I didn't know she was, but I left her" he said

"oh, I didn't know" she said quietly

"I know, but now your mommy is so sad Evelyn, she misses you so please make things right with her, okay?" He told her as she nodded

"Pinky promise" she said as they connected their pinkies together

I knocked on the door before entering to see both of them looking at the door

"hi" I said in a whisper barley anyone can hear

"hello" both of them said

"do you feel good now?" I asked her

"A bit cold" she said as I put my hand on her forehead to feel it a bit hot

"I think she's getting fever again" I said as Alex checked

"I'm gonna call the nurse" Alex said as he got out

"what's wrong with you baby? you're getting me scared" I said kissing her forehead

"I'm okay ma, don't worry" she said before the nurse got inside

After checking her up and everything

"Alex, I'm afraid she may have to stay in here for couple of hours, only one patient could stay with her but I can let you both, we'll have her in here till her fever fades" The doctor said

"She will be okay right?" I asked

"Alex, I think you should start to convince her that Evelyn is fine, nothing too serious" the doctor said

"sure doc, I will, and thankyou again" Alex said as I thanked him before he got out

"Ma, I wanna go home" Evelyn said and I immediately froze

Home? She never says home

"Home?" I asked her

"Yes home" she said

"How?" I said feeling my eyes water

"it's home ma, that's the first time I feel that house is really my home" she said "don't you feel it?"

I shook my head "I lost the only place that felt like home" I said

"what place?" Alex asked

"Can we talk about this later?" He asked

"Sure, Princess, why don't you rest? It's 9 pm now, you should be a sleep" Alex said

"Okay" she nodded as she closed her eyes

"goodnight mommy, goodnight alex" she said before falling into sleep

"Guess I have a night shift tonight" I said

"so Becca will you tell me " Alex said as we both took a seat on the couch

"The last i felt I was at home was 7 years ago, 7, it's been so long" I said

"Did something happen to your parents?" He asked

"No, but as soon as they knew I was pregnant, they kicked me out, leaving me alone without nothing, I stayed couple of months with Nate and Katie before finding that house over there, that you saw, that was all I can afford, It wasn't my choice, that was all I can afford, I didn't have anyone to help me, Nate was going through a lot at the same time so I didn't ask for his help, I worked 2 jobs at the same time" I said my eyes full of tears

"you don't know how much I miss them, more than anything, I needed them to stick with me and help me but they didn't care neither about me or their grandchild, I waited for them at the hospital to enter, I didn't want anything else. But they never came, never called, never answered my calls or even the door, I miss my moms scent, I miss hugging her, I miss how great my dad made me feel, I miss our house, I do fucking miss everything" I said as I cried remembering them and the memories before I felt someone wrap their arms around me

"you're okay, I'm here with you, I'm here" he said tightening his grip around me as I put my head on his chest

for the first time in 7 years, I felt safe between his arms

And I don't know how long we were like this but then I fell a sleep
