《Little Thief (Black Butler G/T)》Chapter Thirty-Five

If Sebastian's cold heart had been beating, it would've stopped completely when he saw the Borrower go flying. He didn't have much time to react and knew if he wasn't fast, she'd be killed.

Using his own body as a wall to stop her, he hurried, using what inhuman speed he had to circle around behind the red-head. Her tiny body crashed into his chest with an unbelievable force, a sickening thud; when she began to fall, he used his hands to catch her in cupped palms. "Kadence? Kadence?!" He practically shouted her name. Her lips moved to create inaudible words. He found himself watching her emerald green eyes drift in and out of focus before fluttering shut completely. Her tiny form felt so heavy in his hands, unnaturally so. The tiny soul he could usually sense grew faint. She was alive. Barely. She would need medical attention as soon as he possibly could get it to her.

"Sebastian!" Ciel shouted, his visible blue eye wide. His hands trembled. He tried not to show any emotion, but his fear revealed itself in his quivering voice. "Sebastian is she-?" He cut himself off, the cloth he used to put pressure on Alois's ever-flowing wound soaked in crimson blood.

"She is alive," Sebastian muttered, his thin brows furrowed in both concern and rage. He looked to his Master and would have requested him to hold her, but the boy was tending to another. One Kadence felt needed to live. All he could do was very carefully lay her limp form in the grass as close to the young Earl as he could that wouldn't end up in her getting any more injured than she already was.

Now that the little woman was out of his hands, he turned his attention to the other raven-haired male standing just meters away from him. Sebastian could feel his blood boiling beneath his skin. He could feel the veins around his neck and forehead tighten in anger. "You are going to regret ever laying a hand on her," he hissed through his teeth, his voice darkening in tone and growing deep, animalistic.

"If you aren't careful you'll let your true form free," Claude stated with a sickening, smug smirk. A smirk that only made the darkness in Sebastian's body bubble even further. "And you can't kill me, you don't have that kind of power."

"Not on his own," a feminine voice chimed in, and Hannah approached Sebastian to stand at his side. Her lavender lips were turned into a deep frown, her tan hands balled into tight fists.

She loved Alois. And she'd grown to love the Borrower in the short time she was here, at Alois's mansion. And to see a fellow demon attempt to kill both of them made her just as angry as Michaelis was. "You have no right to hurt either of them."

Sebastian's crimson eyes turned toward Hannah, and it only took the split second their eyes met for him to know what she was offering. He gave a faint nod of the head, stepped around her, and lowered his voice to a mere whisper. "Thank you."

Hannah smiled faintly at the simple words, closed her eyes as tight as she could manage, and opened her mouth.

Removing his gloves, Sebastian was careful as he slipped his fingers into her mouth and down her throat. It was a sick way to retrieve her weapon, but it was needed. He'd certainly have to wash this tailcoat a hundred times over to get it fully clean.

Hannah gasped quietly and choked. This was the worst part of being the demon that held such a powerful item. Her throat was burning, but Sebastian didn't seem to be taking his time to hurt her as Claude would do, and she was thankful for that. It didn't take long at all for the green sword, Laevateinn, to be removed from its home in her body.

Sebastian held Laevateinn in one hand, his fingers curled tightly around the handle and he shifted his scorning eyes toward Claude. Claude's own eyes looked nervous, but he hid it behind an angry sneer.

"You're a traitor, Hannah," Faustus spat at her, removing his golden knives from his tailcoat and clutching them between his knuckles. He used his free hand to remove his glasses and tucked them in his pocket.

"You're the one that has attempted to kill our Master," Hannah choked out through labored gasps, taking a few steps backward. This fight was going to be unpredictable. A battle between a treacherous spider and a fierce, angry raven. And given the circumstances, the raven had a strong advantage. The upper hand.

Hannah turned towards Ciel, and stepped forward. "Come, let us go inside. I will take care of my Master and Kadence while the two of them fight...you should not be out here whilst they do."

Ciel understood what the platinum-lavender haired maid was trying to say, and nodded his head faintly. As he stood, he looked to Sebastian, and tore the eyepatch from his face and discarded it on the ground. "Sebastian!"

His demon butler turned to look at him from the corner of his eye to also keep an eye on the other demon. "Master?"

Ciel raised his voice, speaking in a loud, clear tone. "You will win. You will kill him. That is an order!"

While Sebastian had every intention of doing so in the first place, he closed his eyes and a wide smirk spread across his lips. Now, it was an order. His Master's word, set in stone for him to obey.

"Yes, my Lord."
