Jin sighed and looked up when he heard another knock on his door.
It was early in the morning yet he felt so tired.
His mind and body yearned for some calm and peace. To be free from all the restraints he tied himself with.
Closing his eyes for a moment he willed himself to gain some strength.
"Come in."He called.
The door opened and Taehyung entered with Jungkook behind him in the tow.
The latter was looking at the carpet while the younger gave him a graceful smile.
"Good morning,hyung." He greeted.
But Jin's gaze was fixed on Jungkook, who refused to meet his eyes.
He nodded in greeting.
"Are you okay, now ?" The elder spoke and the quiet lad finally looked up.
"Yes,hyung."
"Did you take painkillers for your headache already ?"
"I did. Thankyou for giving them."
"We know that you want some time alone, hyung. But I promise we won't take that long."
"Jungkook has something to say to you." Said Taehyung.
Jin frowned for a moment but gave a hesitant nod.
The lad stepped forward and bowed to him.
"I'm sorry, hyung. I wasn't in my right mind yesterday night and involved you in the fight between Namjoon hyung and I."
"I realised how wrong it was of me and it was not my intention to hurt you in anyway."
"It was not my place to speak and was quite disrespectful. I will not do that ever again. Please forgive me."Said Jungkook as he stood straight and bowed again.
But this time Taehyung also bowed with his husband,a small smile present on his face.
Jin's eyes widened for a fraction of second startled by the sudden apology. He knows what Jungkook was talking about.
To say the truth,he wasn't offended or anything, sure a little sad because he was named in a fight in which he shouldn't be involved.
But Namjoon also crossed his limits last night. So as the eldest he had to step forward and stop it.
And again it was not like Jungkook lied.
It was the cold harsh truth.
Jin is pass the stage of denial. He had already accepted that his marriage and their relationship has failed a long time ago.
The words reminding him of his futile marriage didn't affect him.
But that doesn't mean that it stopped hurting. It still hurts.
He is just too much familiar with this kind of pain.
"You know what you did wrong."Said the eldest and Jungkook nodded.
The latter looked really guilty of his actions. His eyes conveyed how much he regrets it.
"You admitted your mistake and had the courage to apologise. That's enough for me."
"Some of us still have not admitted their mistakes." Jin chuckled bitterly.
"So,I forgive you."
"Just don't--don't involve me again. I know it's not going to be your last fight with Namjoon and make sure you don't loose your calm like you did last night."

"I promise, hyung. It won't happen again." Assured Jungkook.
"Good."
★★★★★★★★
Jungkook and Taehyung walked in the hallway in complete silence.
But younger looked up confused when the lad turned to go to their room.
"Aren't you going downstairs for breakfast ? "He asked.
And the elder shook his head. He doesn't plan on facing Namjoon so soon and he just wanted to lay down on the bed again.
"No, I need to rest a bit more. Just send Hoseok hyung to the room with my breakfast."
Taehyung thought for a moment and sighed.
"Can you wait for like an hour ? We can have it together in the room. I'll bring the food upstairs."
"You don't have to--"
"No, I want to." The younger interrupted.
"Okay than I'll wait and we can have the breakfast together."
"Yeah."
Taehyung gave him a beautiful smile and he smiled back.
★★★★★★★★
"Please place them on the dinning table." Said Jimin to one of the attendant as he stood in the kitchen.
He watched the chef cook seaweed soup with turnip.
The atmosphere around the mansion was heavier than usual.
Yoongi was all tensed up in the morning. And it worried him.
It was the first time Jimin felt worried for the ones around him.
He was usually numb and didn't pay attention to his surroundings, maybe it was because of all the alcohol but now he can't help but just be concerned about Jin, Yoongi and the younger ones.
He wanted to take care of them and that was the first for him.
He felt someone walk upto him and Jimin looked up.
"Hyung." Called Taehyung.
"Oh,you are here." He said.
"How's Jungkook ? "
"He is fine, just resting in the room."
"Oh. So, he's not coming down for breakfast ?"
The younger shook his head with a small pout.
"No."
Ofcourse, Jimin understood why he didn't want to be downstairs.
So he nodded.
"Do you need any help ? "Questioned Taehyung.
The elder gestured towards the tray that had two cups of coffee in it.
"Why don't you go and serve it ? Only Yoongi and Namjoon hyung are there."
The younger smiled and walked away to do what he was asked.
"Excuse me-" muttered Jimin to the chef.
"After you're done with this soup. Can you make another one ? "
"Sure,what soup ?"
"The soup that you have when you are hungover."
"Ofcourse."
"Thankyou."
He took a deep breathe and instructed other attendants to their tasks.
★★★★★★★★
When Taehyung stepped near the dinning table. He could clearly sense the strained air.
Like Jimin said only Namjoon and Yoongi were there.
He silently placed their cups in front of them.
And when it was Yoongi's turn. The elder looked up from his tablet.
"How is Jungkook doing ?"
"He is fine, hyung. Just sleeping."The younger smiled and the elder nodded.
"And no one else is having breakfast right now ? "
Taehyung shook his head.
"I think everyone will have it later in the day."

"Okay."
"Tell Jungkook that there's no need to come to office. He should rest."
"Yes,hyung."
Just than the attendants entered with the dishes and the younger decided to help them serve.
With a soft content expression on his face. He served Namjoon and Yoongi.
"Thankyou."Said Namjoon when he served him his favourite kimchi pancakes.
"No problem,hyung." He replied cheerfully.
Taehyung didn't notice but the atmosphere lightened around the dinning table after he entered.
★★★★★★★
Taehyung lifted up the tray when Jimin stopped him.
"Here, take this soup for Jungkook." The elder placed it in the tray where there was some space left.
"Thankyou,hyung."
The elder nodded.
"Take care of him but don't forget about yourself, too."
The younger chuckled and nodded.
"I won't."
Jimin doesn't know what happened to him but he suddenly walked closer to younger and caressed his cheek in a loving manner.
"Don't carry all the burden alone. I am here if you ever want to talk."
"Yeah ?"
Taehyung smiled gratefully.
"Yes,hyung."
★★★★★★★★
"Jungkook-Jungkook wake up."
He felt someone shake him awake. And he slowly opened his dark orbs.
Taehyung was sitting beside him on the bed.
"Wake up, you need to eat."The younger said and with a groan he sat up.
He gestured towards the table where their breakfast was set and the elder nodded.
The younger stood up and moved to sit down on the couch.
Jungkook also followed behind as he ruffled his hair.
They ate in silence and the quiet gave the elder some time to collect his thought.
When they were done the elder turned to look at Taehyung who looked at him in questioning.
"I know you must have so many questions about last night." He started.
"I do." The younger replied.
"But I'll wait till you're ready. I don't want you to push yourself."
"No." Jungkook shook his head.
"I want to tell you."
Than Taehyung nodded and placed his hand on top of his and squeezed it to give some comfort.
"Okay, go on."
The elder took a deep breathe.
"Last night, your friend Alex came to talk to me."
And the younger frooze for a moment.
So Alex actually did something like he said.
"And he told--told me something."
"What-what did he tell you ? "Asked Taehyung concerned.
"He--he told me how he found you in the hospital stairway panicking."
"He told me that you were crying. You were struggling."
"And it pained me, Taehyung."
"It pained me that I was not there for you."
"I was not there when you needed me even after I promised you that I would change and be there for you."
"You were alone."
"I don't even want to think about what would have happened if Alex didn't find you."
"I was so worried when I heard that."
"I left you alone once again."
"If only I was not a coward and stand up to hyung and father. I would have been there with you."
"To help you and be there for you. But I wasn't."
"It angers me, Taehyung. It makes me so angry at myself."
"You don't deserve it."
Jungkook eyes were filled with tears as he spoke and the younger was also having a tough time holding his tears back.
"I want to give you the best. And I'm trying I swear I am but everytime I end up failing you."
"I hate it."
"I hate it so much, Taehyung."
"And what I did last night doesn't actually help my statement that I'm trying to be better."
"My emotions got the best of me and I regret how I handled the situation. I also made Jin hyung sad in the process."
But the younger shook his head and cupped his cheeks to make Jungkook look at him.
"Last night didn't change anything."He said.
"I know you're trying to be better. And I promise you that you have not failed me, Jungkook."
"I can see how much efforts you are putting to be better."
"I appreciate the bouquets of flowers you bring me when you come back from work in the evening."
"I notice the small notes you leave behind in the room for me to read-"
"--telling me to rest--eat well--smile--the compliments--beautiful quotes."
"I see it."
"I see how you are always trying to know me more. You ask me questions with so much curiosity."
"I hear your genuine words and concerns for me."
"You're not the same Jungkook as in the past."
"You've changed for the better. And you're still changing."
"I see everything. So,no Jungkook. You have not failed me."
"You are doing a great job for yourself and us. I promise you."
"Last night didn't change anything. Don't think like that." Assured Taehyung.
"And don't think about the only one moment you were not with me. But think about the moments when you were with me."
"I'm okay. You don't need to be worried about me."
"I was weak yesterday but today I am much more stronger."
"I know that you're here for me and that's what only matters, yeah ?"
The other gave a small nod.
"I also know that you will be with me in future."
"So stop thinking about this one time, stop thinking about the weak moment."
"You'll be there for me and I'll be there for you."
"I know it and you should, too."
"Please don't blame yourself for anything that happened yesterday."
"It's past us now. We don't need to think about it."
"We can't get stuck in it when we have a hopeful future to look forward to, Jungkook."
"Don't blame yourself for whatever happened."
"Do you understand me ?" Questioned Taehyung sternly.
Jungkook sniffled as a tear fell down his cheek.
Younger's words assured him and made him feel warm.
He can be better. He will be better and he is better.
"I understand."

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
