Taehyung leaned back and rested his head against the dull white coloured wall of the hospital as he took deep breaths.
He tried to ignore the silent murmurs around him.
The heavy scent of disinfectants clear in the air.
He shuffled around in the metal chair in the hall uncomfortably.
A mask covering his face just to avoid any unnecessary attention.
He was tired. There's too much going on in the mansion to have some time to himself.
He felt a sudden heavy pang in his chest as he turned his head and saw a couple walking past him.
The feeling of loneliness crept inside of him and he forced himself to close his dark orbs.
His head was starting to hurt as a feeling of nausea took over him.
Everything was getting overwhelming for him.
Tears gathered in his eyes yet again but he blinked them away.
He didn't want to let his emotions get to him.
He tried to reassure himself as he clutched his fists.
Everything is going to be fine. Taehyung told himself.
He stopped himself to think about the situation and started to play with his rings to distract himself.
But he froze when he heard someone say his name.
Taehyung looked up and saw a young man probably an intern standing in front of him with a small smile.
"Jeon Taehyung,right ?"
He wordlessly nodded.
"It's your turn, please follow me."
He blinked a few times and inhaled deeply to gather some strength.
And finally Taehyung stood with up a big exhale of breath.
★★★★★★★★★
Jungkook sighed for the nth time in the meeting.
It was Namjoon's turn to give the report of his department and as usual it was good.
Their profits were more with minimal errors. His father was listening to him with a stoic expression but Jungkook knew that the older was pleased with his hyung.
He would have been nervous for his turn but the worry for his husband made him not think about it.
And even the thought of Taehyung at the moment made him feel so miserable and helpless.
Jungkook hates this feeling. He hates this so much.
He was given a chance to be with him but he lost it. He promised himself that he would not let that happen.
But look at me. I am still a fucking coward. Couldn't be there for Taehyung. I was not able to stand upto hyung and father.
Jungkook thought as the anger rushed in his body and he had to practically hold himself from bursting in the meeting room in front of everyone.
★★★★★★★★
"From what I think it's a bump that happened from an allergic reaction."
"Might be a rash too but I don't think so." Said the doctor after checking up Taehyung's nape.
"Are you sure ?" He asked nervously.
At the question the doctor looked up in his eyes and tilted his head to the side confused.
"You obviously have something to say,Mr. Jeon."

"Please tell me."
Taehyung opened his mouth to answer and closed it again.
He was hesitating.
"My-my mom had-had cancer."
The doctor simply gave him a soft look.
"I'm sorry."
"No,it's okay. Please don't apologise."He said and the senior doctor nodded.
"Well Mr. Jeon I don't think that the bump is cancerous. But if you want we can do some tests."
Taehyung gulped and he felt his hand shake.
"I'll like-like that."
"Okay."
The doctor turned to look at his intern.
"Please guide him for the tests."
"And do a test for allergy, too. The results will be with us in thirty minutes."
"It will clear up Mr. Jeon's doubt."
"Yes, sir." The intern said.
"It takes somedays for the report of cancer test to deliver."
"On the other hand allergy test report will be back soon and you will not have to worry about the bump for long."
"Don't stress Mr. Jeon. I'm sure it's just an allergy. And we'll be able to confirm it in half an hour." The doctor explained to him and Taehyung nodded.
"Thankyou-thankyou."
★★★★★★★★★
"Profits have increased by 5% because of the marketing department this year. We have recently hired a new staff member to ensure that the errors become minimum."
His father nodded and Jungkook stopped talking.
"Your brothers are having an increased profit of 10% or above this year. And their mistakes are less as compared to your department."
The younger looked down at the table.
He was expecting it.
"I know your brothers have more experience than you in this field. They now know their way around."
"But you have them to guide you."
"You can always ask for their opinions. Do whatever you want but I want more profits from you by the end of this year."
"I'm increasing your departments budget by next month, too."
"You have the potential and I need you to do your best."
Jungkook feeling exhausted just gave a small nod.
"Yes,father."
★★★★★★★
Taehyung sat down on the uncomfortable metal chair once again out in the hallway as he was to told to wait for the result.
It was getting tough for him. He was really trying to be strong. But he was overwhelmed with so many emotions.
And soon he felt like he was breathing faster.
Taehyung closed his eyes and leaned back.
Relax, nothing's going to happen. It's an allergic reaction. Just like the doctor told me.
He thought to himself.
But-but-- what if it's--
No, Taehyung. Don't think about it.
Suddenly he felt his throat close up.
His face was flushed red and his heart beat fastened.
Tears started welling up in his eyes and he tried to blink them away. He really did.
I don't want it.
So close to tearing down in the hallway. He immediately stood up and rushed to the washroom.
But before Taehyung could actually reach there. The tears were already falling down his cheeks.
And he placed his palm on his mouth to stop the sound of cry that escaped his lips.

Not wanting anyone to see him like this. He opened the gate to the fire exit staircase and squatted down right next to the wall.
Taehyung remembers the way his mom had a tough time before she left him.
He remembers holding her frail hand as she looked at him with a small smile.
The smile was to reassure him that she's alright. But he knew how much of pain she was hiding from him.
She was just creating a happy facade for him.
He could tell by looking in her eyes that How much was she really suffering.
It broke Taehyung, seeing her like that.
Finally a loud cry escaped his lips as his breathing fastened and he felt dizzy.
And this time there was no one that could pull him away from the spiral thoughts of his minds.
★★★★★★★★
"Please sit down mom,I know you are tired." Said Taehyung as he followed his mom around.
"No there's no time to sit. Your wedding is near and so many preparations are not done."
"I'll handle it and dad is there too but please sit down and take some rest."
"You have been on your feets since morning."
"No--"
"Please."
The elder looked at him for a second and nodded.
"Okay."
Taehyung guided her to sit down on the couch in the living room.
And as she sat down, the elder tried to hide the pained expression of hers but the younger saw it and it pained him.
Though for his mother he pretended to not see it.
Taehyung squatted down right beside her.
"Why are you over exaggerating yourself ? You know you need as much as rest possible."
His mom gently cupped his cheeks and sighed.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. It's just that--"
"that-- I don't know how much longer my limbs will be able to support me."
"I want to enjoy walking by myself without any support because I know I will have to with support one day."
"And you know I hate being dependent on anyone---"
A vivid memory was playing his mind as he found it was getting tougher for him to breathe.
He gasped loudly to take as much as oxygen he can but it was proving to be not very helpful.
"TAEHYUNG."
★★★★★★★★
He felt someone hold his hand and rub his back in comfort.
"Take deep breaths."Was being said to him softly.
Taehyung squeezed other's hand. And stuttered.
"I--I can't."
"Yes,you can just do what I say."
"Breathe in and breathe out."
After a few tries he shook his head again.
"I can't."
"Yes,you can. Stop thinking about anything. Focus on my voice only. "
"Do you understand ?"
But when the other was not met with any reply he asked again.
"Do you understand ? "
Taehyung inhaled sharply and nodded.
"Good."
"Now breathe in and breathe out."
The other sat down beside him and unconsciously Taehyung leaned against him in search of warmth.
It took him sometime but he started to register things around him.
He had no more trouble in breathing and his heart also started to beat at normal rate.
The buzz that he felt around him disappeared but all that left was the heavy feeling.
He was so tired.
Suddenly he realised their was another presence beside him.
He moved his head away from other's shoulder but there were no arms around him.
He backed away startled at the thought of a stranger helping him.
But just than he smelled the all so familiar cologne.
The one he hadn't in a few years.
He opened his eyes shocked and a gasp escaped his lips as he looked at the one that helped him.
"Alex--Alex ? "
★★★★★★★★
Alexander leaned against the table as he stared at Taehyung, who was sitting on the couch sniffling silently.
They were alone in the office of medical director of the hospital. And the glass wall of the room gave them a beautiful view but both of them too distracted to admire it.
He definitely didn't not imagine that his second time meeting Taehyung after a long time will go like this.
Heck he didn't even expect to meet the younger again.
Alex wanted to avoid it because clearly both of them have different paths in life now.
"Stop overthinking, Taehyung."He said cutting the silence.
The air around them was so tense.
"Whatever you're thinking about is probably not even real. So stop it."
"I'm not. "The younger replied silently.
"Yes,you are. I know you."
"People can change." Taehyung retorted.
"Yes ,they can. But this habit of yours hasn't. I can tell."
Alexander stood up properly and walked down to sit in front of him, keeping some distance between them.
"See, Taehyung we are not close anymore. And I know you're probably not comfortable telling me what's bothering you."
"But I can tell you that overthinking and stressing about an issue or a problem is not going to solve anything. "
"It will only harm you."
"I'm not giving you a lecture or something. But I'm just giving you an advice as a wellwisher."
Taehyung looked him in the eyes and sighed.
"It's not easy."
"I know."
"But you have to realise that you're not alone in this. There are people with you."
"Your husband,Jungkook. Talk to him. He'll be there for you."
"He will help you."
"Distract yourself,meditate,listen to music--"
"You used to listen to music daily."
"It always calmed me down." Taehyung replied timidly.
"Than do it. But stop it. Okay ?"
"Okay."
Just than Taehyung's phone buzzed.
It was a text.
His reports are ready.
"Looks like it's time for you to go. And I also have somewhere to be." Said Alex as he stared at younger's phone, too.
"See you soon, Taehyung."
The younger nodded as both of them stood up.
"See you soon,Alex."

Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again. This is a rewrite of a previously started fiction under a pen-name. Chapters will be updated every two days at 6:00 EST.
