⚠️ POTENTIAL TW: domestic abuse mentions
2 months later...
You were trying your best to enjoy life while you were still trapped in Italy. You enjoyed his gifts, but what you hated was that you enjoyed his time even more. He was a busy man, after all.
You've grown to realize that he's not as bad as he seemed in the beginning. Yes, he did kidnap you, but he could do so much worse to you than spoil you with gifts and travelling.
~~~~
You wake up, Giorno sitting on the loveseat in your bedroom corner while Mista packs your things. You hear him snicker from inside your closet.
"Mista, get the fuck out of my underwear drawer!" you yell tiredly.
He grabs a handful of everything and stuffs them, unorganized and unfolded, into your suitcase.
You groan, waiting for Giorno to give his explanation and then his apology, like every other time.
"Buongiorno, amore," he greets you with a smile.
(Goodmorning, love.)
You frown, "Where are we going now?"
He sits on the bed beside you, brushing your messy hair behind your ears, "I need you to go back to (home country, if it's Italy then USA). There's an apartment and a credit card waiting for you."
You become furious. There's no way he's kicking you out, "Why are you sending me back home?!"
He gives you a sorrowful look, "I'm so sorry, but please know it's for your protection. You are not safe in Italy."
"Why am I not safe here anymore?" you ask.
"My rivals have found out about you, my greatest weakness. They want to take you away from me, or... kill you. So please, just go back home for now. I'll solve it."
You sit up and try to convince him to stay, "You need someone to heal you. Let me stay."
He shakes his head, "I can heal myself, well I can't heal the pain, but I can handle it. I can't lose you, Y/N. I don't want to."
You grabs both of your cheeks with his hands and stares into your eyes. You can tell he is truly afraid of losing you.
Snap out of it, Y/N. You're in a prison. A big, fancy prison.
"Fine. I'll go."
~~~~
You arrive in your home country and take a look at your apartment. It's quite modern and minimalistic. You sleep off jet lag (if necessary) and plan to visit your best friend in the morning.
In the morning, you knock on BF/N's door. They open it and freak out.
"Y/N, where were you?!" they ask as they hug you tight, "Jay told me you guys broke up."
"Well, it's a long story."
(Recap of past two chapters if you were a loser and skipped :
"5 years ago, on my trip to Rome, I found a guy my age, bleeding out in the middle of the night. I was only out to see the full moon. Anyway, I healed him. When I went to Naples with Jay, he kidnapped me. He gave me 365 days to fall in love with him. And the worst part— he's a mafia boss. These past 2 months have shown me how soft he really can be... so I don't know. I don't hate him, but I hate what he did to me."
BF/N's mouth is wide open, staring blankly at you, "You're literally living a movie."
You blush, "I guess, but I got sent here because people are out trying to capture me, and I'm not trying to go through that again."
Their jaw remains dropped, no words coming out.
You clear your throat, "Uh, well, he gave me a credit card so... let's go have fun?"
They squeal in excitement and run to their room to get ready.
~~~
For 2 weeks, you've been spending Giorno's money on spas, fine dining, new clothes, and everything in between. On a Friday night, BF/N wanted to go to the club.
When you both walked in, you were left at the bar once again. You laugh to yourself and think about how Mista thought he had a chance with the girl he chased after.
"Y/N?" a familiar voice speaks.
You don't dare to look at the person who spoke to you. You know who that is, and you don't want to face him.
"Y/N, don't ignore me. Not after what you did," he mentions.
You turn to him, clearly mad, "After what I did? Are we going to forget that your work had more attention than I did on your days off? Or the fact that you took your anger out on me physically?"
He looks down at the floor, feeling guilty, "I know. I'm sorry, I know I say that too much, but I'm sorry. Where have you been these past months?"
"Italy," you respond, "I found a job."
"And a new boyfriend?" he spat.
You look at him, surprised.
"Yeah, Y/N. I know. We... had a chat. But I don't care about him. I care about you. I always have. I took you for granted, and you leaving for months made me realize how much I really love you," he admits.
You roll your eyes and smile, "You think I believe you? I don't, Jay. I feel sick, I'm going to go home."
You rush to the elevator, but as soon as the door closes, a hand slips through to open it again. Jay. He began to follow you back to your apartment, begging for a second chance.
You open your door, and he kept it open despite you pushing to close it.
"Please, Y/N, just give me a second chance. I can change," he begs.
"Stop it, Jay. I don't miss you," you retort.
He gets angry, "So what we had was fake?"
You start trembling, scared of what will come if you provoke him, "It wasn't fake, but it wasn't healthy. Please, just go."
He swings your door wide open, "Y/N, don't do this to me."
"Leave, Jay!" you demand.
He sighs heavily, "Please, just give me a-"
"She told you to leave. Must I remind you again?"
You turn around, relieved. The light from the apartment hallway made his ladybug brooch and deep green eyes shine, and you weren't mistaken.
The golden Don was sitting in a chair in the dark. His fingertips were pressed against each other and his legs were crossed over one another.
You felt a wave of relief, "You two have met already, I'm sure, but Jay, this is Giorno, Giorno, meet Jay."
"Really, Y/N? Right after you left me, you got with him?" Jay asks and almost laughs.
Giorno tilts his head slightly, "It's not her fault at all, but seeing the way you treated her, it was right of me to steal her from you. Come back to Naples and see what happens to you, my friend."
"Jay... just leave. I don't love you," you push him out.
You close the door and lock it swiftly, walking to the couch and sprawling on it.
"How long have you been here?" you ask Giorno.
"Since morning," he responds and turns the lights on, "How was your day?
You sigh, "It was really nice until BF/N left me at the bar."
He smiles, "That's how I felt when Mista left you at the bar in Sardinia."
You smile at him, "Sure it was."
"It was. I'm sorry for leaving you, amore. I missed you," he puts his hand on yours.
"I hate to say this," you confess, "But I missed you too. Thank you for saving me with Jay. Who knows what he might have done-"
You freeze, "Why are you clutching your side?"
Giorno takes his hand off his hip and says nothing.
"You're in pain. Come here," you place a hand on his shoulder.
You focus your life energy where he says there's pain and completely heal him.
"Thank you," he smiles.
"No, thank you," you continue, "For putting yourself through many dangers and injuries to keep me alive."
"Well, I signed myself up for this. I'm just happy that it's over for now," he replies.
You bite your lip, debating if you really fell in love with him but never wanted to admit it.
"Y/N?" Giorno calls, "What are you thinking about?"
You take a deep breath and look at the fidgeting hands in your lap, "I... I don't need 365 days."
He raises his eyebrows, "Oh? Why not?"
"Because... I love you," you barely whisper to him.
He's shocked. He looks like he can't believe what he heard, or if he heard you wrong.
"Say it again." he demands.
"I... I love you, Giorno," you repeat.
A soft smile grows on him, and he pulls you close for a long-awaited kiss.
"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that," he reveals.
You laugh softly, tears of joy threatening to leave your eyes, and you pull him in again and again.
