Setting: Morioh, 1999

BF/N = Best friend's name

F/J = Favourite/Preferred job

You finish unloading the boxes from the moving truck. You and BF/N stand outside of your shop and you two take a big sigh of relief. Now, you need to actually unbox the items and decorate the shop. After graduating from high school, you pursued your dream of becoming a F/J, and BF/N decided to follow you. With the help of social media, your small business started booming and you moved out of Tokyo to Morioh to open up a shop.

"Y/N! I'm sooo excited for the grand opening!" BF/N squeals.

"Don't get ahead of yourself. This is just an empty building with a ton of boxes. Let's actually decorate!" you reply.

"25, 26, 27..." BF/N counts, "I'm missing a couple of boxes, could you go get them?"

You roll your eyes playfully, "Yes, your majesty. Don't forget the fact that we have to finish unboxing at home, too."

You walk back to the truck, stacking the remaining boxes in your arms. It was quite hard to see in front of you, but you didn't wanna make 2 trips.

As you turn the corner, something hard and wall-like bumps into you, and the boxes fall. Thankfully, nothing fell out of them.

You panic, "I-I'm so sorry! I should've looked where I was going!"

"Good grief, woman. You should've," they respond.

You freeze. Seeing him would be a coincidence, right? A big coincidence! You're in a small town in Japan while he was living in the USA the last time you heard from him.

You look up slowly from your spot, and you back up immediately, "J-Jotaro?!"

His name caught him off-guard, "Is that you, Y/N?"

You gulp and pick up the boxes, "Uhh, yup! Haha, gotta go, my fish is drowning!"

He grips your shoulder, "What are you doing here? Fish don't drown."

You stare right into those bright teal eyes of his. Ones you fell in love with back in high school. Oh, how you missed him. But that was 10 years ago. He has a child around 7 years old now. He should have a wife, but you're not sure if he still does because you haven't heard from him in a while.

"I opened up a shop here. I'm assuming you're not staying in Morioh for long?" you answer.

He shakes his head, "Not for very long."

He picks up a box from your stack, "Let me help you. I knocked them down anyway."

You feel heat rising to your cheeks, 'Cut it out, Y/N!' you think, 'He has a family!'

"Th-Thank you..." you say.

He follows you into the store, and BF/N's gasp echoes throughout the empty store, "No way, is that Kujo?"

"Nice to see you too, BF/N," he replies.

"Where are your fangirls?" BF/N scoffs.

You slap their arm, "Cmon! Be nice!"

Jotaro rolls his eyes, "I don't have any. It's been a decade, alright?"

He turns back to you, "Anyways, Y/N. Since I haven't seen you in a while, would you wanna... go out for some lunch or dinner when you're free?"

Was he... asking you out on a date? No, it's just old friends catching up. Even though it was just that, your cheeks tinted pink.

"Actually, I-I'm no-"

"Of course she's free!" BF/N interrupted and slapped your back, pushing you towards Jotaro. You send them a cold glare, and they smile childishly.

"Well, Y/N? Go! I'll unbox the basics, then we can meet at home," they shoo you off and you roll your eyes as you exit the building.

"Sorry about them," you say, "Why are you in Morioh?"

"My old man knocked up some woman back in the 80s. She has a teenage son now, and I had to go look for him. I met him, and now I've got some free time," he replies.

"Oh? Mr. Joestar couldn't send someone else? I'm sure you're busy being a top-tier marine biologist AND have a daughter and wife," you say.

He raises his eyebrows, "Oh... actually, I don't have a wife. We divorced a few years ago, and I don't really see Jolyne often."

You freeze for a second, "I see. Why don't you see Jolyne often? She'll grow some daddy issues or something."

"Unfortunately, work and stuff like this keeps me from seeing her. So, where would you like to eat?" he asks.

"Hmmm... A local invited me to their restaurant yesterday. I think his name was Tonio. How about we go there?" you suggest.

He nods and you two make your way to Tonio's restaurant where you cried happy tears over his food.

After leaving the building, you could tell the time by how low the sun is. You only have about 3 hours until it's dark. You're about to end the day off there, but Jotaro speaks.

"Hey, why don't we go hit the beach? Like old times?"

Blood rushes to your cheeks in a matter of seconds. You couldn't say no, "Uh sure, why not. It's been a while since I've seen you."

You give him a smile as he tilts down his hat from embarrassment.

As you two walked on the boardwalk, you both found an empty spot to sit at. When you settled down, you realized the sun was setting. It was so beautiful. Vibrant pink and orange dancing along the horizon, while the sun itself was a warm but bright orange.

"The view is amazing..." you say in awe.

Jotaro looks at you. Your face in its happiest form, your H/C locks flowing with the gentle breeze. As much as he hated to admit, he regret having to leave Japan back then.

"Yeah, the view is really beautiful," he says, ignoring the sunset.

You turn to look at him, "Thank you, Jotaro. I didn't get to explore Morioh ever since I moved here, so this was really fun. Especially since I ran into you."

"I won't be here for a while, so how about we do this again tomorrow? Or whenever both of us are free?" he asks.

You nod and smile softly, "Yeah, I think I'd like that."
