《[⚕️] My goddess from the future || Giorno Giovanna》Chapter XXXII

After dinner, Giorno and his trusted friend headed back to the emperor's tent. With each minute that passed, Giorno's face started showing his true emotions; he was disappointed, he was angry, he was anxious and, most importantly, he felt the need to get rid of this problem as soon as possible.

"Emperor, what did you want to talk about?" Bruno's voice snapped Giorno back to real life, as the blond slicked a hand to his hair to calm down at least for a tiny bit.

"The proposal, the one with the ring that i've sent almost a month ago, do you remember it?"

"Of course i do" the guard quickly answered

"Very well. Turns out it didn't reach Rome. Not the ring nor the stones did. You know what this means, right?" The blond said with an expression that only showed skepticism towards the situation. One, that wanted answers. Not an angry one, not a peaceful one.

The golden middle of those was what his face expressed.

"I'll go call the sender right now. I'll be here in maximum 5 minutes" after hearing about such a problem, Bruno's face contorted too. He felt bad for his friend since that letter meant a lot for him, but he also knew that disobeying and betraying the emperor even in such a way could lead to different repercussions, depending on how far this betrayal went.

The emperor simply nodded at his soldier's words, as he sitted even more comfortably in his chair, waiting for the problem to come right in front of him.

After a few minutes, just as Bruno said, he came back with the man responsible for the sending of letters, bags and other stuff until the point where Narancia was.

"Thank you Bruno, you may now leave" Giorno said, crossing his arms

"But emperor-"

"I will be needing to be alone with this man, you can wait outside"

"Y-yes Emperor" the guard's answer was a bit less confident then usual, but he followed the order nonetheless and exited the tent, in hope that everything will be alright.

"So, you're the one who was charged to transport our goods to the halfway point, correct?"

The man nodded

"Do you recognize this?" Giorno took out the bag in which his stones were and where there should've been the engagement ring. The guy in front of him looked towards the bag with a horrified look, he knew it was something he might have lost and since it was in the emperor's hands it must've been the most important bag of the trip.

"In case you have forgotten i shall remind you; this is the bag i've sent to my beloved, in which i opened my heart to her, in which i told her about my plans. This was the most important letter out of them all, my proposal to her, your future empress"

Just with these words, the sender already knew his punishment was going to be harsh and long, but little did he know that this wasn't his only problem.

"And besides that, which is already extremely bad, you seem to have lost one belonging of this little sack: "

Now Giorno's face went back to his true one, one full of anger, ready to make things one wouldn't even imagine him doing. Such a soft, calm and kind emperor definitely wouldn't have these same thoughts, feelings and expressions as he had.

"My emperor, i can explain! During my trip towards Narancia's station i got attacked by a couple of young thieves. They must've stolen the internals of your bag! I didn't even realise it was yours my emperor, i would've immediately told you otherwise." The man quickly excused his mistake, with a fearful face and shaking body. It seemed like he was telling the truth, but nothing was too sure at this point.

"I see. Do you remember, perhaps, the faces of those thieves?" The blond asked, with the exact same expression but with a more intrigued tone. Whether he believed his man or not was a mystery, maybe even to him. But he had other intentions obviously

"I do! They were two young boys, one redhaired with green eyes and the other with darker hair and blue eyes..."

As the soldier was describing what the two thieves looked like, Giorno did his best to remember their appearence and even called Bruno back so that he could remember that too and send someone to find those two guys.

After the man finished his story with a lighter, happier heart, his expression dropped again. Bruno held him tight as Giorno grabbed his gladio and got closer

"Thank you for your help, but this mistake is still on you. You should have immediately told me, whether it was my bag or someone else's. I can't accept such behaviour, especially inside my army" the emperor said while his friend closed the third one's mouth. Everyone was already asleep, but they couldn't risk the rest of the army to hear the screams of this soon to be death soldier.

No matter the pleads that couldn't go through Bruno's hand, Giorno's decision was made.

"May the Gods forgive you" he said and stabbed the sender in his heart. A quick death was what this soldier reveived, while Bruno received the order to hide the body in the woods.

"We will think about the thieves as soon as we arrive in Rome. The executers will manage with this" Giorno told his friend as he helped taking the body outside

"But Giorno, what about your ring? Shouldn't you find it before arriving?"

"Don't worry Bruno, i have made two of them"
