Softly taking out the elastic that held together the elegant braid cascading down the blonds back you undid each section mindful not to accidentally tug the golden strand.
You knew that he took care of his hair but damn, it felt nice.
"Your hair is very nice." Blurting that out while undoing the last portion of the braid your gaze lingered over the neatly trimmed layers. You'd seen his braid undone once or twice while fighting the ex boss, but you never really saw it just down.
Or saw all of his hair down in general. Heck you weren't even sure if getting it wet would rid the hair of it's iconic curls.
"Thank you." Appreciating your compliment and just allowing you to take out the braid, he took note of how diligently and gently your fingers combed through each strand. It was reminiscent of the way your stand worked, and the thought of it brought a question to mind.
"(Y/N)," Calling your name first and waiting for you to meet his gaze through the mirror he continued. "I never got to properly ask you this but back at the coliseum, how exactly did you come back?" It was something that had completely slipped his mind surprisingly enough.
It was a passing moment where he was fighting with Diavolo and suddenly you were back, breathing and doing what you usually did. He hadn't really batted an eye then, but those were also tense times and asking questions only wasted time.
"Oh well uh I'm not really sure on that myself," Beginning with that you thought back to what had transpired that day, most of it had become murky though you could recall bits and pieces. "I mean I remember talking to Valkyrie, we were back in my old room and she was saying a bunch of things to me that I honestly can't remember now."
Beginning with that you began doing your own type of brain with the blond's hair, "She said something about having the chance to right a wrong uh," Pursing your lips and really thinking over what happened you clicked your tongue. "Something something she told me Bruno was dead- Speaking of which I'm a little annoyed that you didn't tell me, but that's in the past."

"I forgive you." Briefly closing your eyes and giving an assertive nod you opened them back up catching a faint smile along the blonds expression. "Just next time you have to give me a heads up so I don't have to die to find out."
"To be fair Bucciarati didn't want anyone on the team to know." Stating that like it was some sort of evidence he could see you deadpan.
"Ok well Bruno's also the kind of person who would throw himself out of a train so that excuse is invalid." Declaring that and pausing to wave the brush still in hand around neither of you added anything else.
The atmosphere had grown into a comfortable silent one, just you brushing someone's hair.
Giorno found it rather soothing himself, sure he's done his own hair and what not but there was a certain feeling he got when someone else brushed it. Though that's how most of his interactions were with you, he'd often get a fluttery feeling whenever you were around even if he didn't show it much.
From your first introduction to now he could tell you'd grown as a person and as you'd said before; it was like the two of you were on the same wavelength.
"Have you been in the garden lately?" Moving your gaze back to the mirror and meeting with his own you were curious as to where the question came from.
"Well yeah of course, I like to use it as my safe space. Why?" Tilting your head a bit as you asked that you could see him grow a more pronounced smile.
"Well, have you noticed anything different about it?"
Raking your brain for anything that seemed out of the ordinary you recalled seeing more (F/C) flowers than usual, all of different types but each beautiful in their own way. Though you weren't sure where the conversation was going, a quick jolt to your memory had popped up reminding you that the blond before you had a stand relating to living things created by nature. "Wait, are you the one putting all those (F/C) flowers in the garden?"

The look he gave in response was enough for you to know that your assumption was correct, "It was! I thought it was just a coincidence!" Throwing your hands up into the air and turning in place you let out a noise frustrated with yourself for not piecing things together sooner.
Watching this all unfold Giorno couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle, it was cute how something as small and simple as that could get this kind of reaction out of you.
"I thought it would be nice to surprise you, since without you a lot of us wouldn't be here." Sincerity leaked from his tone as he shifted in place to face you instead of facing the mirror, the soft expression stretched out across his face halted whatever you were still doing, bringing you quickly back to a relaxed state.
"It was nothing really. I mean I don't know what I would do without you guys." Chiming that out you took in a breath releasing it though a sigh, "You all work so hard and even after making it here everyone's been busy."
He could definitely agree with you there, even if the old boss had been overthrown there was still a lot of work to do. Many of the other branches weren't too happy with having been overlooked by the previous boss and now that he wasn't in office Giorno had to deal with the brunt of it. That and those who didn't agree with the new restrictions set in place.
It was really beginning to be a pain in the ass.
"Running Passione has been. . .stressful. I can only be thankful that the team has been willing this far to help with a lot of it." Beginning with that he rested a hand below his chin in a thoughtful manner, he knew everyone had been frying their brains lately so perhaps something less straining should be in order. "Which leads me to come up with an idea." Pushing off the chair and standing up he briefly paused looking over the neat braid you'd left his hair in.
Waiting for whatever idea he had your eyes followed him as he moved off towards the door, "Hey wait a minute are you just going to leave me out of the loop?" Whining that out you watched him swing the door open, a coy smile had pulled across his lips.
"It'll be another surprise." Answering quickly with that he ended it with a very quick very brief wink closing the door upon his departure.
Butterflied danced around the pit of your stomach before a groan bubbled up from your throat being left with the knowledge that you weren't in on the surprise.
"Damn it Giorno." Shaking your head and running a hand through your hair you move back towards the vanity pushing in its partnering chair as well as moving to tuck the brush away.
Your eyes trailed over the top's smooth surface before falling upon the somewhat bulky envelope left behind.
They really couldn't take a hint could then.
An annoyed huff left your lips and in a quick motion you raised the item tearing the top open, unlike the others this one was lengthier. Scanning the handwriting all the way down your eyes lingered over the bottom.
Instead of it's usually sugar coated 'Miss and love you lots', three simple words rested in its place.
'See you soon.'

Updates Once a Week next update 10/5 Wracked with misfortune, a nameless village along the edge of the Gray Spine rejoiced at the arrival of a paladin.
