The rest of the day's events were . . .eventful. Though you supposed they weren't enough to keep you basking in the comfort of sleep leaving you to stare up at the ceiling restlessly.
The room felt too warm for the blankets covering your body, thus they were discarded onto the floor and a disgruntled huff left from your lips. Rolling onto your side before reluctantly sitting up your feet made contact with the cold marbled floor, it's smooth and cool surface right away made you more awake.
Water is what you assumed your body wanted, 1 am crisp water before falling back into a slumber. That's what it demanded and you weren't going to lengthen your waking period any longer.
Running a hand through your hair and scrunching up your face at the tangled feeling you continued the action while walking down the hall.
The fridges blue night light illuminated the area enough allowing you to quietly and successfully grab a cup proceeding to fill it with water. Taking a long sip you let out a hum in satisfaction at the cold liquid coating your throat, your eyes adjusted quickly to the dark surroundings before drifting down the darkened hallway and seeing a bright line along the floor.
Blinking a few times while staring at it just to make sure it wasn't a figment of your imagination, but the line remained.
Which meant someone was awake.
Leaving your glass of water behind as to pick it up on the way back you trailed towards the door hesitantly giving it a few soft knocks. A low obviously tired voice responded with a 'come in' and your eyes right away fell upon a still awake ebony haired man.
"What are you doing still awake? It's like 1 in the morning?" asking that and stepping into the office you closed the door behind you holding back a yawn. Your eyes raked over the papers littered across his desk as well as the pen softly clutched in his hand.

"I'm just finishing up with some stuff," Breathing that out he shifted another paper in front of himself, "So there's no need to worry."
You could obviously hear how tired he seemed from the low tone used and how his other hand had been resting below his chin almost as though it was holding his head up. "You're always in your office 'finishing stuff'." Using air quotes while speaking you held back an eye roll, "You need to get some proper rest."
Letting out a sigh in response to your comment he briefly looked up to where you stood, he could tell right away that you'd probably just rolled out of bed presumably either for a close to midnight snack or some water.
"I'll head to bed when I finish."
Holding back a groan at his statement you stepped closer towards the desk, "You'll head to bed or are you just going to say that to get me to leave the office? Because I'm not leaving until you agree to get some rest." Crossing your arms and eyeing the stubborn man he once again let out a sigh.
Though this time he moved one hand to cover up a yawn that'd slipped past.
Uncrossing your arms quickly you pointed accusingly at the man, "See!? You are tired!" Leaning forward and quickly snatching the pen from his loose grip you plopped it back into it's cup holder.
Bruno's azure hues merely watched you tuck the pen away before proceeding to gather the papers together into a neat stack. As much as he wanted to keep working and get everything over with he also knew arguing with you was close to pointless considering how persistent you were.
"Really. I'm fine, I can just look over the last few then head to bed after those." Giving one last attempt to persuade you into letting him finish looking over and signing papers the way you crossed your arms in response told him enough.
"You say that but I can see right through you," Pointing two fingers to yourself then moving them together into one while pointing at the man your lips pursed into a line. "You may be able to taste a liar but I can most of the time read them."

Recalling briefly a conversation you overheard between Giorno and Mista you couldn't help but bring up that point. You didn't know the full story but from the sounds of it that's how Bruno and Giorno met.
"Someone told you about that? Well that's embarrassing."
"Embarrassing? You. embarrassed? I'll believe it when I see it." Giving a soft laugh at his comment you lightly tapped your finger on the top of his desk. "But seriously, you should really be getting some rest. You won't be able to function properly without it and as much as I would like to see an uncomposed Capo I know you like keeping up a reputation."
You got him there, out of everyone in the manor you were one of the people who could almost read him like a book.
Much like himself it seemed as though you picked up on other people's habits as well as how they carry themselves, in which case lead to his current defeat.
For the third time in the past few minutes he let out a deep sigh, his eyes closed momentarily before opening back up. Pushing away from his desk and rising from his chair Bruno let out a hum rolling his shoulders a bit.
"Seems as though you've caught me there." Moving to take the stack of files and tuck then into a drawer on his desk he hummed once more to himself, "How observant of you." Moving around the desk and around where you stood he swung the door open looking back expectantly at you.
Realizing that he was waiting for you, you almost jumped in place passing by and waiting in the hall. Watching him flick the light switch off his gaze trailed to where you stood somewhat expecting you to have already begun your way back to your own room.
"If you think I'm going to dip you'd be wrong," Clarifying that you waited for him to close the door to his office. "I'm planning on walking you to your room in case you decide to just turn back around and continue with working."
An airy chuckle left the ebony haired man upon hearing that and he'd turned in place facing the right side of the hall, "Well I can't stop you. Do whatever you please." His tone near the end of his sentence seemed to dance along the lines of playful and uncaring, perhaps just a mix of the two.
But whatever it was you got the okay which allowed you to relax a bit, the imaginary argument you had prepared in your head quickly fizzled out of existence.
"Perfect then, just pretend I'm not here." Clasping your hands together in a sort of silent clap you began walking beside the lean man following wherever he turned.
"I'd rather know you're here beside me than pretend you're not. You do have a very comforting presence after all." Smoothly inputting that Bruno glanced towards where you walked, his eyes barely adjusted to the darkened hallway.
"It's probably my stand. Kinda like the calming feeling you get when I use it right?"
"It could be that or it could just be that I enjoy your presence."

The Girl in the Abyss
Synopsis: The mysterious force known only as "God's Guidance" implemented a game-like system and rebuilt the planet using continents from five different worlds. Join Ellie, a young girl whose soul is filled with an ocean of love and trust. No matter how horrendous the circumstance or dreadful the suffering her kindness manages to shine through, but everyone breaks eventually. Watch as the horrors of reality slowly chip away at a pure soul until nothing but a monster remains and follow her down the path of despair as she finds a reason to live. ‘Our fate is one that always leads to suffering, but you can smile, I’ll shoulder everything else.’ Warning 1: This story covers very mature themes which I have listed here: Torture of a child (The MC is the victim), death, killing, slavery, and light gore. Nothing sexual ever occurs to the main character. Warning 2: This is another apocalyptic LitRPG, has a brokenly OP MC, bad writing, horrible grammar, and garbage sentence flow. It is my first attempt at writing a story since grade school. Inspired by my four favorite stories: Overlord, CLANNAD, The Arcane Emperor, and Tokyo Ghoul. A note by me: This is not a world domination story or an action story. There is fighting but it's not the focus. Another note by me: This is a work in progress. I’ll likely go back and change stuff a lot. The cover art is by a friend who has encouraged me since the start. Releases: Volume two will not be out anytime soon sadly. I apologize for the Hiatus.

Follow Dante and his family as they traverse this new system world. However, before they can explore this new world they must complete, the Tutorial.
