A yawn left the white haired man as he slowly awoke, the rooms curtains were shut tightly and it seemed as though the TV had been muted due to the lack of sound coming from it.
Sitting up his eyes crossed a bit focusing on the luminescent bug still resting among his face. It must've stayed there while he slept, which didn't annoy him much seeing as the nap felt like one of the best he's had in a long time.
You must've closed the curtains at some point to keep the sun from waking him up.
Pushing off Abbacchio's face and fluttering around the room the man rubbed the remaining sleep from his eyes realizing how quiet the house was. He knew he had asked you to keep it down but it didn't even feel like your presence was in the house, even though your stand was.
"(Y/N)?" Waiting a bit after calling that out he strained his ears for anything, though no response was received.
Grumbling to himself and rising from the couch he trailed towards the windows pushing apart the curtains before heading into the hallway, stopping before where he recalled your room being. It was certainly off that he was checking up on you but he quickly pushed that aside reminding himself that it was something Bucciarati would've expected him to do. Knocking on the door and waiting for a response nothing was given, though the door itself craned open displaying an empty room. "Wha-(Y/N)?"
Returning back from your outdoor adventure you pushed open the back door with your foot closing it quietly behind you, quickly proceeding to make your way over towards the kitchen counter placing the two drinks in hand onto it.
Peering back towards the couch you noticed that Abbacchio was missing, though you merely assumed he had moved into the guest room to continue his nap. That would be understandable seeing as the living room was in the middle of the house.
Leaving the drinks behind and heading back to where you room was to drop off your wallet a noise from the door across caught your attention. It sounded like a fair amount of cupboards being opened and closed followed by footsteps, both of which spiked your curiosity. Though upon nearing the door it hastily swung open slamming itself against your face with an audible smack noise. The force of which felt like a punch to the face quickly knocking you on your ass.

A whine left your lips as both your hands right away went to soothe the soreness in your nose, your gaze trailing up to who'd opened the door meeting with the ombre hues of Abbacchio.
Though he seemed a bit ticked off to say the least.
"You. Where'd you go?" Demanding that the lean man closed the office door right away returning his attention back to you. Your hands still rubbed down the bridge of your nose from where the door and your face had made contact.
"I was just wandering around a bit, damn. Didn't want to risk waking you up." Clarifying your reasoning for leaving you rolled your eyes at him, you didn't pin him as the kind of person to look for you if you ever disappeared. Maybe even someone who'd celebrate given the chance.
Resting a hand along the side of his hip and raising the other to pinch the bridge of his nose a sigh left his lips, "You should've let me know beforehand so I don't assume you just ran off or something." Shaking his head and closing his eyes briefly yet another sigh left him, his gaze although sharp softened upon seeing you still rub at your face.
Clicking his tongue and extending a hand out to where you were, he turned his head to the side, "Your face okay?" Merely having your eyes pop out of their sockets at the question you were more than surprised to hear those words leave his lips let alone the man checking in on you.
Taking his hand in your own and using it to hoist yourself up a subtle smile drew itself across your face, "It's fine. Nothing to worry about." Waxing your other hand in a dismissive motion you bobbed your head to add emphasis. "But besides that how was your nap?"
"It was fine." Humming that out and eyeing you through his peripheral he could still tell your face still hurt from the way the bridge of your nose was red as well as your forehead. It made him feel somewhat bad for opening the door so quickly, but how was he supposed to know you were right in front of it.

Giving another nod as well as a hum you snapped your free hand in the air, "Oh! Before I forget, while I was out I bought something for you." Without much thought you turned on your heel, hand still wrapped around his own as you tugged him down the hall back towards the kitchen.
"I wasn't sure what flavour you'd want, so I just got you a raspberry one." Speaking excitedly about what you'd bought you stopped before the kitchen counter where two bubbly red ombre drinks sat.
Letting go of his hand and grabbing the two you expended one out towards him, an eager smile was set out across your expression.
Looking towards the drink then back at you Abbacchio held a dumbfounded look. He never really was one to expect things from others, so seeing you bring something back for him as well as yourself made him feel...fuzzy.
"What is it?" Asking that and taking the one offered out to him he raised the glass a bit assessing the possible contents. Which from his guess could be some type of soda, the raspberry flavouring and a swirl of whipped cream on top.
A familiar looking drink yet something he's never really bothered to try.
"They're Italian sodas! I heard they're very popular with kids because of the whipped cream." Chirping that out and mixing your drink a tad with the straw you took a sip right away humming at the sweetness.
Giving a nod at what you'd said he copied what you did mixing his own drink before giving it a sip, and to say he wasn't disappointed was an understatement. The drink looked rather childish at first glance which is presumably why children liked it, but the drink itself was pretty balanced with it's flavour.
"So, how is it?" Trying to gauge the man's straight face your eyes dragged over his expression catching the faintest most unnoticeable quirk along the corner of his lips.
Pulling away from the drink and forcing a cough into his hand he let out a hum, "It's not as bad as I expected."
Wanting to fist pump the air you held back that reaction merely just flashing him a closed eye smile. It really felt like the two of you might've made progress in developing a friendship.
Taking another sip Abbacchio trailed his gaze over your face still seeing the aggravated section along the bridge of your nose now having spread to the apples of your cheeks. Setting the drink down he reached out with a hand capturing the tip of your nose between his fingers and pinching it. A whine right away left your lips at that and you reached up with your own hand resting it on his.
"Hey hey hey what are you doing? It's still sensitive." Ignoring your question he tilted your face from side to side then up and down before a hum rumbled from him. His grip loosening till he pulled his hand away shaking his head.
"You should put some ice on that." Clicking his tongue and heading towards the freezer he pulled out a frozen sponge, something the team often used as ice packs. Tossing it over to where you stood you barely caught it having to quickly put your drink down.
"Ice the rest of your face too, it's looking a bit red."
Watching him turn and begin walking back to the living room you puffed out some air blowing away the hair in front of your face. It definitely felt warm now and not just because of the comment but because you could've sworn the man had smirked while walking away.

Leaves of Terranthir
DISCONTINUED - I won't be writing more of this fiction. Check out the latest post for a worlbuilding summary / final thoughts. Leaves of Terranthir is a gamelit blend of ARPG, action, fantasy, and slice of life. It's inspired in part by some of my favourite games, borrowing in themes, sense of exploration, and aesthetics from the Soulsborne and soulslike genre, mixed heavily with arpg itemization from Diablo/PoE style games. While many may remember their Soulslike experiences as nothing more than suffering, I personally loved the sense of progression, to prevail over challenges and monsters that seemed impossible to defeat at first. If any of that seems interesting to you, do check out the first chapter and let me know what you think. Cheers, and thanks for reading. Cover by Baconstrap.
