The room was silent, not much noise came from inside nor outside save for the shuffling of fabric amongst one another. The curtains were pulled apart delicately framing the windows, as soft luminescent sunlight filtered into the room illuminating it.
A large pair of matching white cases sat occupying the top of flowing bedding effectively squishing down the once pristine comforter, both the cases being filled with their fair share of items.
Dottling around the room and throwing open drawers as well as sifting through the closets contents, a sigh filled the room's atmosphere. One that did not come from the woman shuffling around but from the one standing just to the side of the closed doorway.
Her black pleated dress and white apron showed exactly her status, yet the look on her face was one that could be compared to a mother whose child had rejected their offer of help multiple times.
"I can help you pack you know. It would be a lot faster." The tune of her voice simply fell upon deaf ears and another sigh had left her lips. Her gaze lingered over the back of your head before trailing towards where your hands were spotting a pair of shirts clutched within them, both of which were unfolded and wrinkled.
She could tell you were excited, yet at the same time she could see how stressed the situation had made you.
"Hey, do you know where I'm going to be placed?" The woman had to strain her ears to hear what you'd said, the question being quiet, a mere whisper. It had proved her initial assumption about you being nervous and that perhaps you were seeking words of assurance to calm whatever buzzing nerves remained.
Pushing herself away from the doorframe she took elegant strides towards you softly prying the shirts from your clenched hands and resting them overtop the suitcases. Her expression was soft and a reassuring smile had been stretched out across her lips.

"If you are worried about fitting in, I'm sure you'll be just fine." Humming that out she watched your shoulders sag, it was almost like the woman could read your mind. "But as for where you'll be placed, do you remember a caporegime of the name Polpo?"
Scouring your brain for someone of the name you pursed your lips together. Right away the woman could tell that you couldn't quite catch who the person she was talking about was so she added on, "He's a larger fellow and I believe he gives orders from inside a jail now. You met him a few times when you were younger but that was a long time ago, so it's alright if you don't remember." Waving a hand and holding it out towards where you now stood you handed her some more clothes to pack.
"You'll be a new addition to one of his best groups. Though I do not know a lot about said group itself, but as I've mentioned I'm sure you'll all get along nicely!" Her tone of voice was optimistic while she folded a few more articles of clothing tucking them along one side of the bag.
Her eyes briefly glanced towards the second case before she pursed her lips, a hand reaching out towards the item tugging out the leather bound book. The cover of which was littered with trees and other landscapes while still retaining a minimalistic appearance.
Leaning over the woman's shoulder and tugging the book out of her hand you merely set it back down within the case, a sort of knowing look crossed her face followed by a soft smile. "Did you pack your study book?"
At the woman's words you rolled your eyes, the dusted black covered book mentioned had remained untouched among your desk for the past few weeks. It wasn't that the book was bad, it was the repetition of reading it that'd gotten you annoyed with it, merely tossing it aside.
"No, If I did pack it up then there's no telling if I might 'accidentally' lose it." Throwing your hands up and following the statement with a quick set of air quotes a giggle left the woman, her form trailed from the bed to the desk taking the book and resting it just beside your other one.

"Well then, if you lose it nobody can hound you to study anymore." Catching on quickly to what she was saying, a smile curled onto your lips. She was always the best when it came to things you disliked or things that were expected of you.
A motherly figure if anything, someone that was there for you whenever you needed it.
"Am I going to be able to see you again?"
There was a pause as the woman pondered over your question. She always thought of you as her own daughter, yet still had to be mindful to separate herself from your social standings. She was merely the family maid after all.
Nothing more nothing less.
"I'm sure we'll see one another once again. I'm not that old after all." A laugh rumbled from the woman and you followed suit with a few chuckles of your own, "But after today I'll only refer to you as Lady (L/N), the smartest and kindest young lady I've ever gotten the pleasure to meet."
You understood what she was saying and in some way it felt bittersweet. After so many years of being together and being taught everything you'll ever need to know, you were finally heading out on your own.
Remaining quiet for a minute or two you nibbled among the inside of your cheek, your nerves that disappeared not too long ago had reappeared in the quick repetitive notion of tapping your foot amongst the floor.
"So you really think they'll like me?"
Letting out a sigh she turned her head back to where you stood, her soft hues always carried such an infectious calmness and comforting look to them. Her tone of voice was once again soft and airy, a soft of confident gleam ran over her expression as she spoke, "Of course they will. Who doesn't? You're a clever girl and it would be no surprise to me if you did the impossible."
Folding up some more clothes before raising from her kneeled position she strolled over to where you stood, her calloused hands took your own into them as she softly began rubbing a thumb overtop."
"I know you're nervous about what they'll think about you, but just be yourself and I know everything will be alright." As she spoke a subtle squeeze or two was given to your hands in reassurance, her tone once again was soft and her eyes never left your own showing how sincere she was.
"Thank you for the reassurance, I guess I'm just overthinking things a bit." Murmuring that out you nodded softly to the woman before you before flashing a half smile. She knew just exactly what to say to make the whole world calm once more.
A comfortable silence fell between the two of you, before you spoke once more. The topic of your new path ahead back on the table.
"I know you said you didn't know much about where I'm getting placed...but do you know where I'm meeting them?" The question was a stretch seeing as information such as that wouldn't be shared with just anyone, especially considering your family and the organization.
Catching the woman shake her head, a defeated breath left your lips.
"I don't have details such as where you'll be meeting nor who you'll be meeting unfortunately. That will be given to you tomorrow morning before your departure." Relaying back what little information she'd been given the woman could see your nervousness creep back up.
A squeeze was once again given to both your hands before they were dropped and a quick hug had greeted you.
"Don't overthink it, you'll be just fine."
