Chapter 33, Running Away

Choose, I'm not playing games with you. It's me or her.

"Delete that right now."

I said, Lola was on Instagram.

She was going to post it, I bit back the tears and rolled my eyes.

"So you're dating Jaden?"

She asked, I looked at Jaden.

He looked confused, like he was trying to come up with some sort of lie to save me.

What does one say when they've been caught making out with their best friend's brother?

I couldn't say anything, Jayla came out of her room with Kylee.

The anxiety started already, Jaden put his hand on my shoulder.

That only worsened it, Jayla noticed what was happening.

"What's going on here?"

Jayla asked, if I could rewind everything, I swear I would.

This could break our friendship and I'll never be able to make it up to her, that's when the tears fell.

I cried so hard, I didn't care that I was caught but that it could ruin our friendship.

"Your so called best friend is kissing your brother."

Lola said, showing Jayla and Kylee the photo.

Jayla looked at me and sighed, I felt my world crash down.

But it was fixed when she stood by my side with Kylee, putting her arm around my shoulder smiling.

I looked at her so confused, but grateful since that meant I didn't mess up my friendship with either girl.

"It's her life not mine, if she's happy with my brother who am I to stop it?"

That's when the world seriously ended, Javon walked out his room.

Lola took it upon her self to walk up to him and show him the photo.

He looked at me like I have disrespected his whole family, he went up to me.

"Are you serious Natalie?"

He asked, I sighed.

I could've lied and pretended that it meant nothing but we weren't together, he's so busy with Lola that he hasn't even spoken to me.

My decision involve me, it's always been me never a we.

"Yes and I'd like it if she deleted the photo considering it was taken without consent."

I glared at Lola, she grabbed Javon's hand like he was going to do something.

The tears dried up fast as well, I was angry that he had the possibility of being angry at me even though he ghosted me.

"Is that why you've been avoiding me?"

He asked again, my blood boiled but I didn't dare say anything.

"Answer me damn it!"

He shouted, Jaden moved me aside and stood in front.

This makes me look like a pick me girl, so I scoffed and grabbed Jaden's hand, moving him back.

"Don't shout at her!"

Jaden shouted back, if the twins started hating each other, I couldn't live with myself.

I get Jaden was trying to show he was on my side but I didn't want a brother bond to break over a girl.

"Relax okay, I've been avoiding because of her."

I said continuing to glare at Lola, he glared at me.

Lola was still threatening to post the photo, I didn't know what to do.

"Lola? Natalie that's so stupid!"

"I know that Javon, but I can't help it!"

I shouted back at him, my lip quivering.

This girl was going to ruin my friendship with him and there was nothing I could do, I should've been happy and bit back the venom was me inside.

"You're ridiculous, she's not doing anything to harm you!"

"She's threatening to post the photo without consent! Tell her to knock it off!"

I shouted, was he so blind that he didn't see anything wrong with her?

Or was I just stupid enough to believe she was out to get me.

"She isn't going to post it Natalie!"

There he goes, defending her.

He's like her knight in shining armor, I felt like the second option to everything except family and friends.

But for love, I was second.

"Me or her Javon."

This sounded so selfish but he needed to choose, his friend or some girl who was making me look bad in front of him.

I felt like I was driving myself insane.

"I'm not choosing okay."

"If I'm not a second option and if we are truly friends, that nothing will ever threaten to harm our friendship. Choose."

This was really petty and disrespectful but I needed to know, I wanted to make the voices go quiet.

I wanted to prove to myself that I was really not the second option and that people love me, that people truly think I'm a good person.

I just wanted someone to love me for I was without an issues or who weren't family.

"I'm not choosing."

Jaden placed his arm on my waist, Jayla was quiet.

Kylee was just rubbing my back.

I didn't want any sympathy or pity, I wanted to know that I truly wasn't annoying or a horrible person.

Javon looked at both of us as if he was really choosing who he was going to pick, this choice was going to make or break our friendship.

I was prepared to walk out when I needed to, I don't care if it was a bad choice.

"Her, Natalie. Lola."

My breath stopped, before I could even comprehend what I was going.

I ran downstairs and out of the house, I heard my name being screamed to come back but I didn't.

I ran until I couldn't anymore, my legs were on fire and my lungs hurt.

But I didn't go home, instead I showed up to a house I didn't think I'd ever be at again.

I rung the doorbell and knocked twice, the door opened.

"Natalie?"

"I need somewhere to stay, please don't call my mom."
