《The Demon King》End of The Road and Start of Something New

Apparently, long ago humans and vampires didn't live in peace.
But the way it is now, I couldn't see how that would be possible. Everything between the two species seem friendly.
But like my parents said, it's been over two centuries since then. And it took a lot of hard work, empathy, and understanding of each other.
I don't know why, but it always makes me exceptionally happy that we as humans get along with the vampires now.
"Adina! Hurry, you're gonna be late for school!" My mother shouted, I groaned quickly brushing my blonde hair out as fast as I could. Wincing as I brush a little too hard.
"Coming! Coming!" I said as I shoved the brush in my backpack. I raced down the stairs, kissing my parents on the cheek. As well as my twin brothers and baby sister. "Bye guys! Love you!" They all smiled at me.
"We love you too." Mom said with a smile.
"Learn something." Dad said sending me a playful wink. I giggled, shaking my head playfully as I shoved my feet into my MaryJanes. We had a strict dressed code due to our uniform but I didn't mind too much. Less time fretting about what to wear.
And plus, I got new MaryJanes from Doc Martins for Christmas this year. The girls skirts were mid thigh, jet black with a single white stripe near the end of the skirt. We had to tuck the white short sleeved collared shirt that we also had to tie a black ribbon into a bow. The white shirt also had black linings on it, along with sleeve and collar.
Too add some color I simply had some baby pink socks that had cute little yellow flowers on it.
I walked over to the metro station, catching my bus just in time.
"Jeez! Look who's finally here." My best friend said, her eyes golden eyes glowing as she teases me. I rolled my eyes at her, taking my seat that was next to hers. Her curly hair was as beautiful as always, "Doesn't the 'fro look good? Finally took out the braids." She giggled.
"Ava, you always have the best hair out of all three of us." Naomi chimes as she takes a seat in front of me. Ava smirks, chuckling.
"Well, I just didn't want to brag." We all let out a laugh.
"Well, listen to this. Apparently, one of the royals will be going to school with us." Naomi said with a large smile, her bright red eyes gleaming as she smirks. Ava and I look at each other with looks of surprise.
"The prince?" Ava asks, suddenly intrigued. Naomi bites her lip shaking her head.
"Yes, in all his sexiness." Naomi just about moaned, causing me to let out a loud laugh.
"Hopefully he's my mate." Ava said dreamily. Naomi scoffed, throwing her black hair over her shoulder.

"As if!" She snarled.
"Girls, girls. Stop the fighting, look at my girlfriend for example. She could careless about some royal vampire princess, right babe?" I laughed as Tobias pressed a playful kiss to my head.
"Shut up, Toby." Ava said rolling her eyes.
"Yeah, plus you and Adina aren't even officially going out. Since you're too much of a boyish dweeb for sexy ass Adina." Naomi said, her slanted eyes narrowing at him. Tobias dropped his jaw, taking his seat behind Ava as he gasps.
"As rude as ever, Naomi. Can't I take my time wooing the girl I love?" I hid my blushing face at Toby's words.
It's not that I didn't find him attractive...but I just didn't love him romantically. We've known each other for so long, since we were babies. Maybe I'm just not overlooking that.
"Alright class! Settle down!" Our homeroom teacher began. We all hushed and listened in to what she had to say. "As you have probably heard, the Royal Prince Kai will be joining us this year-" We all jumped as the door opened.
A tall boy walking in, and just like that I felt my whole breath being taken from me. My heart was jittery and my stomach was full of butterflies.
I blinked quick and fast, as I tried to anchor myself.
But just as I began to calm myself, his eyes pierced through my own. I let out a small gasp, quickly adverting my eyes.
"Prince Kai, please if you have anything to say, take a stand." The teacher said pridefully as she grinned at him.
"I'm here for an education just like all of you. Treat me as normally as you would any other student. Because I'd hate to be bothered by anything unnecessary." I was stunned by his crudeness, but everyone else thought it to be cool.
I looked over to Tobias who held his hand up to his face, rolling his eyes causing me to let out a small giggle despite my nervousness.
I felt the Prince's eyes on me even more. "Ah! There's a seat right behind Mrs. Underwood, Adina raise your hand please." I kept my head down and raised my arm up.
Of course, of course, of course! I screamed in my head as I felt the Prince's hot gaze on the back of my head.
"Alright class, since is only been a few days since the new school year has begun. Let's refresh ourselves with our buddies. Turn your desks around and introduce yourselves to your buddy!" The teacher said smiling. I groaned, shyly picking up my desk and turning it around.
I watch as everyone watched me, Naomi and Ava basically squealing and laughing at me. Tobias looked just as worried as I did.
"H-hello, well," I cleared my throat, looking down at my hands. "I'm Adina Underwood, I have t-three siblings...I'm the oldest. And um-" I gasped as his cold fingers pressed against my chin, lifting my face up. The butterflies once again erupted inside me, my fingers trembled.

I watch in awe as the Prince starts to tear up. I felt a powerful ache in my chest, his dark eyes looked so sad for someone so young. He held my cheek as a single tear rolled down his cheek, I slowly put my hand against his large one.
"...am I your mate?" I whispered, he nodded his head. Closing his eyes as I gently wiped away his tears.
"You're more than that...we've been mates for many lives." He told me, my lips parted in shock. He smiled, looking at me lovingly.
"I'm sorry I don't remember I should-" He shook his head.
"I think it's best if you don't. I want you like this...looking at me in a new light. But I'm glad I have these memories. All the good and the bad." He said lowly, just for us to hear.
I frowned, my heart aching for him. "Do I always look the same?" I asked, he grinned chuckling. His whole face lit up, and he finally looked his age. He nodded his head, looking over my face.
"Yes, still utterly beautiful." My face went red.
"What was that?!" Ava shouted, shaking me by the shoulders. Naomi pushed her off of me.
"Is the prince your mate?!" Naomi screamed. I slapped them away, still feeling dazed and confused from what happened as well.
"Yes...yes he is." The girls let out a loud scream, grabbing me in a hug as they jumped up and down.
"You know! I wanted it to be me but I'm so glad it's you!" Ava said giggling.
"Yeah! Only Adina can handle a douche bag!" Naomi said laughing while she jumped around me.
I rolled my eyes smiling, "He's not a total douche bag. I think he's just...really misunderstood. And he's been through a lot." I said, worrying about him once again.
Kai said he'd give me space, to let me get used to the fact about him being my mate. And all the looks people were giving me...all of them evil looking looks. Besides that, the fact that I've had multiple lives call ended some way...and some way that's probably not good due to the look Kai gave me.
There's no doubt I feel some way about him, but what will I do with a prince mate? What do you do when you find your mate? How will I know this connection is actually real?
That's it's all authentic- I let out a scream as someone grabs my arm. A tingly feeling shooting all over my body.
I look up, my eyes widening as I see Kai. "Prince!" He narrowed his eyes on me. "S-Sorry, Kronos...what are you doing here?" I said with a smile. I couldn't help myself.
Every time I see him or even when I think or even talk to him I smile. "I thought I could be patient...but I really don't think I can be. So please forgive me when I do this." He rushed out of breath.
I furrowed my eyebrows, "Do w-" He cupped my face with his hands, leaning down as he pressed his soft full lips against mine. Capturing my first kiss.
And I couldn't even be mad about it.
I gasped, my entire being shook under his touch that just seemed to have a stronger effect on me each time we touch. His tongue slips into my mouth, as I closed my eyes.
A glimmer of a memory hits me, something so faint I almost couldn't depict it.
But it was us, us when we were older. Kissing like we were now. Kai pulled away slowly, our lips brushing against each other as we look into each other's eyes. "That was all from memory just so you know, I've never kissed anyone." Kai said, his face bright red. His curly hair all over the place.
I let out a loud laugh, "Kai...I know you want me to call you by Kronos, I know it's your second name but I think we need to live this life how it is now. I am me and you are you. Because I have a strong feeling the old you has almost never shown me a blushing face." He glared at me as I laughed, I stood on the tips of my shoes.
Pressing a quick kiss to his lips. "Let's be us. Because it's all we have." I told him, I watch as tears start to well up in his eyes.
"You always, always know what to say. You've always been so much more mature than me. Even at 17 years old you're more mature than me." He grumbled, melting in my hands as I wiped his tears and kissed his cheeks.
I giggled, "It's because I'm a girl, your girl. So I have to be."
"Prove it to me in the next life then. I'll be waiting." My voice echoed in my head, and the tears found my eyes too.
We pulled each other in a hug, "Thank you for not keeping me waiting." I whispered to Kai, he chuckled.
"Thank you for being my mate once again." I smiled up at him, cupping his face and pressing a kiss to his lips shyly.
He grinned against my lips, taking charge a little after teasing me. "Kai!" I whined giggling as I waited for him to kiss me back.
"I love you, Adina. You're truly my soulmate."
"And I love you, Kai Kronos Eberos."
