I woke up, the girls asleep. I was surprised Ida was actually asleep, which was probably because the sun had taken a toll on her.
I smile as I see Ida's hand in Flo's face and Flo's foot hanging off the bed.
The calm is always before the storm though.
The door slams open, causing the two girls to wake. Ida sitting up quickly. Our eyes find Kronos, their full of rage and he's looking to kill. "Ida, Dear!" I hear a lovely voice say. "Mother." Ida says standing up, Flo and I latch onto each other. The woman appears and I'm blown away.
They don't hug or anything. Ida bows her head to her mother, the woman, Irina, grabs onto her jaw, looking her daughter over with a proud smile.
"Look at you. Look at how beautiful you've become." She says with a grin. Her crimson eyes flash over to Flo and I. "And who is this?" Ida smiles, "Mother, this is my best friend, Flo Underwood. This is her older sister Opalescent Underwood and she's my mom." Irina pauses and looks to her daughter with a look of hurt.
"Your mom?" Ida nods her head. "She showed me love. She's my mom." I interrupt. "Ida, don't disrespect your mother like that. She shows you love, she shows you in a different way than I do." Irina watches me as I talk, "But look! She doesn't hug me! She's been gone for 1,500 years and she doesn't say I love you or anything of the such." Flo's eyes fill with emotion.
"She ignored me my entire life."
She walks to me and takes my hands, standing me up.
I look to see Kronos stand up straighter. But I look back to Irina. "You. You've made my daughter have emotions...she's changed for the better. How?" I look down to my feet. "I'm sorry, Queen Irina. I now your kind looks down on emotions." She laughs, "Not me. I adore them, I try my best having them." She glanced at her daughter.
"How do I say that..it hurt my chest when Ida Rose called you her mother." My eyes widened, I looked to Flo who gave me the same face.
"W-well," I looked between them. "You love your daughter?" She nodded, "Id die for her. She's my baby, my last born." Ida looks away. "It hurt your feelings when she called me her mom?" Irina nodded, swallowing hard. "It hurt more than I could imagine. I love you, my Rosie. When I said you're beautiful I didn't just mean this face. I've seen you, and your actions when I looked into your eyes."
She paused grinning, "Im proud. You've traveled with your little human friend to wake me and your father." She bites her lip, "All this you've learned from a human." She looks to me and grins.

"Emma's my best friend. I'll talk to her about you." Irina says with a smirk. I laugh, "You're gorgeous." I blurt out and blush. "Sorry!" I squeal and the woman squeals, pinching my cheeks. "Oh no wonder, Ida! She's a pet, completely adorable." Flo and Ida snicker.
Irina looks back to her son who watches us intently, his sight on me. "Hm. Interesting. Come, let's meet with Vlad. I miss him." She still holds my hand as we walk past Kronos.
"Vlad!" Irina squeals like a young girl, she looked twenty three, I watch as the man turned around just as Irina jumped into his arms. Ida groans embarrassedly as they kiss passionately. I blush and cover Flo's eyes. "Opal." Flo whines, I cover Ida's eyes too as they go a little bit farther. "Mother! Father! Please." Kronos cuts in sharply.
The two stop, the man looks to me and tilts his head. "Beloved, this is Opalescent. She's quite the human. She's extraordinary." Irina gushes as she sits in her mates lap.
"Oh? How do you do, Opalescent." I shake his hand, trying to bow but I end up falling over my legs. The girls laugh and I blush. "I-I'm sorry, I can't do a bow like that." He chuckles. "Are you one of my sons mistresses?" Irina watches as my face falls, I quickly recover. "No, I'm a maid." I explain. "Do you not find my son attractive?" Irina asks and I cough.
I look at Kronos who's glaring at his mother.
"Um, w-well, he's alright." She smirks, "Alright?" Kronos snaps and my eyes widened. "Your attitude." I chime and he glared at me. "Don't talk to me like that in front of my parents." Irina whispers something into Vlad's ear and he nods.
"She is quite extraordinary." Ida nods and jumps into her fathers arms. "Very much so, daddy! She cares for me, even though vampires have hurt her in so many ways." Vlad smiles. "My daughter seems to have taken a liking to you." I wrap my arms around Flo as she stands in front of me.
"Ida is such a great child-or well person." I laughed softly, "She just had to be told that." Vlad smiles but it's gone as he looks to his son.
"Irina, take my girl and her friends for a walk." Irina stares at her mate before nodding, grabbing Ida's hand and beckoning us to follow. I look back to Kronos as I walk, his eyes flashing to mine just as his father stands, blocking my view.
"Do you play?" Irina asks as she shows me the music room that I didn't even know was in this castle. "Yes, Queen Irina she does. Opal has the best voice ever." Flo tells her, Irina smiles. "Oh really?" She raised her eyebrow at me. "I-I haven't played in forever I-" Ida pouts, "Opal! Please!" I take in a breath and walk to the piano.

Taking a seat.
"Please, mind your ears." The girls laugh. I start playing, at first it's rocky and out of key but as I go it clicks in my head. I begin to sing along as I get it right, "Lean in for a big kiss. Put his favorite perfume on. It's you it's you it's always you."
"It's better than I ever even knew. Only worth living if someone is loving you." I stop, Flo smiling at me. Irina and Ida clapping. "Amazing. You must play at the ball." I tilt my head. "The ball?" She nods excitedly. "Yes please! I am still Queen," She looks at me. "For now, but I command you too." She says playfully.
"I'd love to, Queen Irina." The door opens Kronos and his father fill the room. "Please, play another. Do you know anything classic?" I nodded my head, I play one of my favorites by Chopin. My fingers a little shaky as I feel Kronos' stare.
When I finish I look behind me to see Irina and Vlad dancing making me smile and continue. Kronos appears in front of me. I keep my eyes down, and keep playing song after song. One of my many childhood dream careers was to be an artist. Which was possible still, the vampires loved classical music and entertainment and I was alright.
Kronos grabs my hands, stopping me abruptly, the song stops with a messy key and I look at him with shock.
"Move." He tells me and I move to stand and leave but he pulls me back down scooting me over so he could fit in the seat. I watch as he puts his hands down on the keys, and begins to play.
I watch him in utter silence. I was blissfully surprised and amazed. He was amazing, I look to his face. His jaw clenched, his strong neck had a vein popping out as he concentrated. His thick well shaped eyebrows together as he played. His emotions well put into the song. The music filled the large room of instruments. I wanted to touch his neck to ease that vein away, and run away the little crease that was put in between his eyebrows.
I giggled softly, he looked at me still finishing the song.
"What?" He said defensively. "You focus so hard. And you pound on the poor keys." I say running my fingers over them. "You say that as if they can feel it." I laugh, playing a few keys. "You have to play it as if you're in a dream." I say closing my eyes as I begin to play a song but I'm cut short.
"A dream?" He scoffed, I opened my eyes blushing. "Yes, a dream." I say shaking my head smiling. "Dreams are happy. Music is light just like them." Kronos looks at me with a frown. "Dreams can be horrid, just like music. It can be dark and loud." He plays those notes, drowning out my soft ones.
I press my fingers into his, "But when they play together, it's a mix of both of them. A balance, just like a dream." I say smiling at him.
He stares at me, but the door opens. "Brother." Kronos stands up, standing in front of me. I peak to see a man. He had similar features to Kronos, even looked the same age. "As you can see I got that fucking dagger out." He growled, "That's a shame." Kronos quips. "You're playing again? That's a shock. You vowed never to-" Kronos shuts his brother up.
"Shut up Dimitri." While Kronos has dark hair his brother has a sandy blonde. He's slightly shorter as well.
His scarlet eyes match with mine and I gasp, "I can hear a heart, and that's certainly not yours. And I can smell someone, mm. Smells like honey and buttercup." He pops the p sarcastically. "Who are you hiding, my brother." He stalks closer.
"Why are you hiding it?" Kronos moves away slightly, showing me. I look up at Dimitri. "I'm not hiding anything. It's just a maid." He says grabbing my arm and pulling me up. Dimitri looks me up and down, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Beautiful. So tiny, not your type at all Kronos." Dimitri grabs my hand, his frigid skin touching mine. "May I?" I look to Kronos who watches his brother, looking down at me he nods curtly. I nod silently, he smirks, twirling me around. "Lovely. What's your name gorgeous?" I lick my lips, catching both their attention.
"Opal, Opal Underwood." I tell him and he smiles. "Is Opal short for something?" I nodded. "Opalescent is my full name." He grins, "I want you, Opalescent." My eyes widened.
"Do you have money?" Kronos asks, my eyes widened and my heart drops. "You know I do." Dimitri smirks. "Two million for her." Dimitri scoffs. "Why so much?" He asks, his hand trailing down my arm. "Take her for a test run?" Dimitri asked. "No. She's not my type as you stated but I'll be down a maid." Dimitri looks down at me.
"I'll definitely think about it."
