The restaurant was dimly lit, quiet and fancy. Ella sat on Aubrey's lap since they were in their own section, closed off from the rest of the customers that chose to eat there. He was barely paying attention to the cuisine on his plate because he was whispering sweet nothings in her ear.

The waiter stood off to the side waiting to ask them if everything was good but ended up leaving them to continue to get lost in each other. For them, their surroundings melted away and it was just the two of them.

Aubrey's hand tightened around her waist, his hands travelled up her skirt, rubbing the inside of her thighs. Ella gasped but she caught herself and gave him a knowing smirk. She knew what time it was.

Suddenly her phone vibrated on the table. Ella picked it up and flipped it over to see who was trying to contact her and saw the letter "M" she put for Marcus. The messages read: "Come outside. I gotta talk."

"What's wrong?" Aubrey asked suspiciously. They were just having a good time and she had to ruin it by being on her phone. This the shit that annoys him.

"Uh, just need to take this call." She said simply.

"Is it that serious?" He sneered before leaning back on the chair.

Ella rolled her eyes at his sudden attitude and started getting up, "I'll be right back babe." She bent down to peck his cheek and giggled at the red lipstick stain all over him.

Once outside, she texted him back: "Where ya at?" She didn't even need a text back because he came up behind her placing his own coat over her bare shoulders. "Right here, princess."

Ella turned her body and looked up at Marcus. He looked good and he was wearing that familiar strong cologne. She felt guilty sneaking around to meet him, especially because Aubrey hated him and whatever they had before they became official. Just the other day he warned her to stay away from him for good but despite everything they had she couldn't just ignore him.

"Marcus...what are you doing here?" She didn't even know where to begin or what he needed to talk about now of all times and places. She could barely look at him but she forced herself to.

"The text about us being done was wild. Was that who was taking your time?" His head gestured towards the restaurant alluding to Aubrey. There was a pregnant pause and Marcus laughed, "What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?"

"Marcus, why does it even matter? We weren't even together?" She was genuinely curious. Yes, she knew he liked her but that didn't mean anything if she didn't feel the same.

"I know and you don't feel the same. But that's the nigga? The one who's been beating on you? You caught me by surprise with that one." He said bitterly. He followed her eyes to the ground and didn't see anything. He tapped the bottom of her chin and lightly pushed it up to look into her eyes.

"W-what do you want me to say?" She was really speechless now because she knew deep down inside he was right, but Aubrey was working on whatever issues he brought to the table. She also knew he cared for her just like Marcus did but they showed it differently.

"That you know you deserve better." He shrugged. He leaned in to kiss her but Ella stepped back. "He's got you wrapped around his finger..."

A single tear slid down her face, he was right but she always loved poison and there was nothing she could do about it now. Her mind was made up and her heart already followed the boy in the restaurant.

"We can't be in contact anymore," Ella said firmly. She wiped her tears and looked up at him. Even though her voice sounded shakey, the message was clear and cutthroat. Marcus shook his head, his face appeared blank.

"I don't believe the words coming out yo mouth, but I'mma let shit fly for now," He told her and bent down to peck her cheek. She let it slide. This closure was what they needed even though it hurt.

Marcus was aware of Aubrey beyond his relationship status with Ella even though she wasn't. He was East's very close confidant and a higher up member of his team, so he didn't take it personally.

After politely taking his coat back, he waved goodbye and disappeared into the dark of the night. Ella just stood there processing everything that was said between them, disregarding Aubrey who was probably starting to get concerned inside the restaurant. She knew her love and loyalty for Aubrey ran deep but she also knew his love hurt and stinged.

Jay was heated. No, livid. He read the news article on the app installed on his phone that basically recounted the night of the shooting. Originally, he didn't know that Marcus was responsible but then he put two and two together and pressed him for answers. He never wanted Sage in a line of fire.

Jay heard a soft knock at his office door and he called for whoever was behind it to come in. It was his assistant, Scarlett. She was a tall and thin figure with dark curly hair and she's been working for Jay for a few years now. She stalked inside tapping away at her iPad until she finally looked up, "Marcus is here again. Do you wish for him to come in?"

Jay thought about it and reluctantly nodded his head. He was so annoyed but he wasn't as annoyed as he was earlier. "Yeah, let him in," he ordered. Scarlett swiped a loose curl from her bun behind her ear and obeyed walking back out the room,

Less than a minute later, an oblivious Marcus waltzed into the room. "Ay, Jefe." He held his hand out for a dab but Jay just rolled his eyes.

"You know the shit you pulled that night? Are you dumb?" He spat. He clenched his jaw and tried to calm himself down.

"Woah, my nigga. What the fuck you tight about now?" Marcus wasn't used to any of his anger being directed at him.

"The shooting! You could've hurt Sage, bro! What's not clicking?" Jay couldn't believe he had to spell it all out for him but this is why he was Jefe.

Marcus actually couldn't bring himself to be concerned with the wellbeing of Sage but he's guessing Jay did. A lot. He knew for a while that was the case but not enough to remember that night. He saw East and his mind went blank.

What he wasn't going to do was let some little rich boy talk to him any kind of way over a what if. "Nigga, you do know this ain't Romeo and Juliet? Fuck I look like?"

"I could say the same about you and Ella, nigga, don't play." He shot back.

Marcus laughed bitterly. "Oh you know a lot but you don't. She ain't in the way, but your bitch is," He jabbed a finger at him.

Low jabs? "You wouldn't even be nowhere near here without me? Or did you forget? Let's keep things cute" Jay didn't mean to throw things in his face but it just came out. His blood was boiling and his mouth just said things before he could think like it always did when he was angry.

"I didn't forget. I have the balls in this bitch. You just a boy using me as your vessel and overpaying while you at it," Marcus backed up and threw his hands up, "Who's the boss now?" With that he twirled around and trekked out the room door.

Jay knew he had to fix things with him again, not just because of what Marcus did for him but he said a lot of hurtful things. Right now though, he was too angry, too prideful to move.

Endnote: How do y'all feel about Marcus a.k.a. Key Glock so far? Did it change from the first time he was introduced or did your feelings stay the same? Who are y'all faves? Who do you ship? Let me know! Also, I wanna thank everyone for the interactions, I'm so appreciative
