《Theirs》Chapter 37

...
"Okay. That should do it. We'll meet here tomorrow, early in the morning, to prepare everything and when the sun goes down it's go time." Lyla explained as I nodded my head.
"That's a wrap then. Now if you'll excuse me, your brother's nagging me to bring his precious princess to him, so I'll be leaving first." Kayda said and took a sleeping Scylla from my lap. "See ya girls tomorrow." She added and blew us a kiss before leaving.
"I think you should sleep somewhere else tonight." Lyla said and stood up.
"Why?" I asked in confusion.
"You know. To get them in the mood. I managed to convince Blaze to keep them occupied tomorrow without telling him what you're going to be doing, so those two will probably go crazy a little bit from not seeing you the entire day." She answered with a mischievous smile.
"And that's why you're my best friend." I said and hugged her.
"Now that I think about it, you should sleep here. No one except us three knows about this room, so it's perfect. And they won't be able to track your scent because everyone is constantly walking all over the lair and scents get mixed up." She suggested.
That made me think about how Tharion and Draco avoided sleeping with me in the same bed because I refused to give in. Obviously, I knew it was because they couldn't trust themselves around me while we're sleeping, so with me sleeping here it should be a bit easier for them.
"That's a perfect idea Ly." I said excitedly.
"Then I'll leave you to prepare the couch and we'll see you early in the morning." She said and slowly headed toward the door.
"Aye, aye captain." I said and saluted her.
She chuckled and waved at me before leaving. I moved the catalogs and magazines from the couch and laid down. Luckily, there was a blanket here so I wrapped it around me and snuggled on the couch. But I couldn't fall asleep.

Why am I so nervous? Come on Kate. Relax. You'll regret it if you don't sleep now. Come on. You can do it. Come on. Sleep.
Sleep didn't come that easily, but I guess I slowly dozed off some time during the night.
...
I heard a door opening, but I ignored it and continued to sleep. And then I felt something land on my head, followed by a tiny growl. I opened one eye and saw Scylla's excited face.
Cutie~
"Rise and shine Kate. It's D-day. You need to get ready." I heard Kayda's voice.
Then I heard more shuffling and a lot of loud steps.
"Kate, get the fuck up! Blaze is barely managing to keep Tharion and Draco occupied. You need to get ready a.s.a.p." Lyla said in a hurry.
Then I felt someone pulling me up, making me grumble in annoyance.
"Don't you grumble at me. We don't have time. We have to get you ready and in your room now." Lyla said sternly and pulled me up to stand.
"But I thought it's go time when the sun goes down..." I mumbled and yawned.
"Well, our idea of you sleeping here backfired. They are in a frenzy because you didn't show up to your room last night. Tharion waited all night inside the room in case you came back, and Draco was searching for you all over the place. I'm surprised he still didn't manage to find you. So get your fine ass moving. We don't have time." She explained and that made me wide awake.
Shit!
"There's a small bathroom in there. Go freshen up and take a shower." Kayda pointed to a door which I thought was a closet.
I nodded my head and quickly headed to the bathroom.
But why did they react like that? I thought they would be at ease a little bit because I'm not there. God knows how many times they slept downstairs for the past few weeks. This was a perfect opportunity for them to get some quality sleep.

And as I was thinking about all that, I was soon finished with the bathroom. And when I walked out, my jaw dropped to the floor.
"Is that..." I started, but couldn't finish my question.
Oh my God...
"Sure is. Do you like it?" Lyla said excitedly.
"I love it!" I yelled and ran up to my dress.
Well, my wedding dress.
"It's perfect." I whispered as I gently traced the top of the dress.

I could feel tears slowly gathering in my eyes.
I'm getting married for real...
Lyla rubbed my back gently and let me cry for a few moments.
"I know Kate. I felt the same." She said softly.
I felt something on my shoulder and saw Kayda put Scylla on my shoulder. Scylla growled softly and licked my tears. That only made me cry even more because she was so cute. I could hear Lyla and Kayda laughing.
"Don't laugh. I'm being emotional okay." I protested, still crying like a child.
They grinned at me and pulled me in a hug, which helped me calm down after some time. And after I was done crying, Lyla and Kayda helped me get ready. They did my makeup and curled my hair. Then I put my dress on and looked at the mirror.
"Noo! Don't cry! You'll ruin your make up!" Lyla immediately scolded me when she saw tears gathering in my eyes again.
"I can't help it." I mumbled as I continued to look at my reflection.
I can't wait for them to see me like this.
Luckily, I managed to calm down quickly and now we're just waiting for Blaze to give us the green light.
"What is taking him so long..." I mumbled nervously.
"Apparently, Tharion and Draco ran back to your room to see if you're there, so now Blaze is having a bit of trouble getting them out." Lyla said in annoyance.
My heart melted because of how much they care for me despite me not even being there.
"Okay! Go, go, go!" She suddenly said and pulled me up.
"Huh? Now? Wait. Are you sure?" I said in confusion as both of them started pulling me toward the door and soon out of the room.
"Yes! Now go!" Lyla said excitedly and continued to pull me.
And soon, we were in front of the door of my room.
"Go in quickly. Blaze just told me they are coming here again. It looks like they caught a whiff of your scent somewhere and are following it." Lyla said and quickly pushed me inside my room.
"Good luck and have fun!" She blew me a kiss and closed the door.
I stood there for a few seconds, letting my mind process what just happened. Then I went upstairs and sat on the bed facing the window. I took a deep breath and started fidgeting with my fingers.
This is it Kate. After tonight, you'll be married.
And them I heard the door being roughly opened.
Huuh... Here we go...
"Katie!"
