《Theirs》Chapter 8

...
As expected, I woke up with a terrible headache. Luckily, Lyla helped me with it the moment she saw my barely alive body. So now, we're in our kitchen, enjoying some pancakes. Blaze couldn't stay for breakfast and was gone a little after I woke up.
"Do you remember anything from last night?" She asked me and I nodded my head.
I remember everything. And I'm very grateful to Tharion and Draco for saving me.
"I'm sorry for forcing you to go out with us. If I didn't, you wouldn't-"
"Let me stop you right there. You didn't know it was going to happen, so it's not your fault. Plus, I was actually enjoying myself before those jerks came. Aside from that, the rest of the night was perfect." I said with a smile.
Lyla smiled from ear to ear, circled around the table and pulled me in a tight hug.
"Do I ever tell you how much I love you?" She asked happily.
"Only every two seconds." I said with a chuckle.
She let me go and moved back to her seat. Then an idea crossed my mind and I immediately went to grab my crafting kit.
"Um, Lyla..." I said slowly.
"Hm?" She mumbled with a full mouth.
I sat back in front of her and placed my kit on the table.
"What are you planning on making all of a sudden?" She asked confusedly.
"Just wanted to make something for Tharion and Draco as a thanks for saving me." I said quietly.
Lyla stopped eating and a smirk immediately appeared on her face. I could already feel the teasing. Especially since I'm probably blushing like a madman.
"And what are you going to make?" She asked teasingly.
"Just some tie pins. I noticed they wear them, so I thought it would be a good gift." I said and started to take out my tools.

"Ohhh... Make sure they have a dragon on it. And make it black and gold. Those are their favorite colors." She said excitedly.
I looked at her in confusion, but didn't question anything. Lyla knows them better than I do, so she obviously knows what they like. I couldn't help but feel a little jealous though. I want to be close with them too.
Okay, hold up. Maybe just friends is good for starters.
"But you have to hurry. Work starts in two hours." She reminded me.
"Don't worry. I'll finish in time." I said and started making the pins.
...
"Kate! Come on! We have to go!" Lyla yelled from her room.
"I'll be out in a minute." I yelled back.
I neatly packed the pins into two small boxes and put them into two small gift bags. Then I put them in my handbag. I quickly checked myself in the mirror and ran out of my room.
----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------
Yup. You guessed it. Another important meeting, which means another day in this torture device.
"Thank God. Come on." Lyla said and pulled me with her.
And after a few minutes, we arrived at the company.
...
We settled down at our places and I took the gift bags out.
"I'll go and give them this before we officially start with work." I said and stood up.
"Try not to spit fire while giving them those pins." Lyla teased and I immediately glared at her.
I took the bags and slowly headed to Tharion's and Draco's office.
Okay Kate. Breathe in. Breathe out. You can do this. Just go in, give them the pins, say thanks and run out. Simple. No need to have a rap competition with them.
I stopped in front of their door and took a deep breath.

Okay. You can do this.
I gently knocked on the door and waited for them to give me permission to come in.
"Come in." Both of them said at the same time.
Oof! I didn't even walk in and I already feel flustered.
I again breathed in and slowly opened their door. I first moved my head in and saw they were already looking at me. Tharion was as neutral as ever, but Draco was sporting an amused expression.
"Umm... Good morning Sirs." I said nervously.
"Tharion."
"Draco."
They corrected me and squinted their eyes at me to make a point.
"Right. I'm sorry." I said and slowly walked in.
I had the bags behind my back as I slowly closed the door.
Or maybe I should've left them open so I could run away faster.
I smiled awkwardly at the twins in front of me and slowly approached them.
"How can we help you today Katie?" Draco asked cheekily.
And here comes the hard part.
"I... Um... I wanted to... Just..." I mumbled while looking at everything except them.
"Wanted to?" Tharion said, gesturing with his hand for me to continue.
Oh God! I want to dig a hole and bury myself.
I nervously looked at Tharion and then at Draco. Then I quickly placed the bags in front of them and backed away a few steps.
"What is this?" Draco said curiously and peeked a little inside the bag.
"I-It's-just-a-small-gift-to-say-thank-
you-for-saving-me-and-helping-
me-yesterday. I-know-it's-not-
much, but-I-didn't-have-time-to-
make-anything-better-since-I-
thought-of-it-literally-two-hours-
before-work. But-yeah. Thank-you-
for-yesterday. I'll-go-now. Have-a-
nice-day." I said quickly and ran to the door.
"Wait Kat-"
I closed the door and ran back to Lyla. She was already waiting for me.
"So? How did it go?" She asked eagerly.
"Don't ask anything. I have to go and grab something cold to drink. My entire body is burning." I said and quickly went to the elevator.
"Don't think you got out of this! I expect a more detailed answer to my question!" She yelled.
I just waved at her and walked into the elevator. Once the door closed, I slammed my head on the wall.
Why do I have to have stupid mouth which spouts nonsense 24/7...
