After getting off the phone with my mom, I stay in bed because my shoulder was still in pain. I honestly didn't want to do anything. I was letting my brain soak up all the information my mom had provided me. I heard Desi come back home and I felt like this was my chance to rekindle our friendship. I slowly get out of bed and walk out my bedroom and Desi was putting away groceries.

"Hey" I said and she looks at me.

"Hey" she says and I go sit down at the dining table. I watch her put away the groceries and I take a deep breath.

"Desi can we talk?" I ask.

"Yea" she said closing the fridge and coming into the dining area. She sits down across from me and I stare at her.

"I'm sorry"

"Why are you apologizing?"

"Because I need to. When we got here... I made it all about me. I was being selfish"

"Eh..." she laughs and I smile at her.

"I wasn't being honest with you about everything. I even found myself going to Blake more because...I don't know to be honest. But she just tried to sleep with me so I think I'll cut that off" I said.

"Wait a minute bitch, what?"

"I know" I laugh. "She dead-ass try to get me" I laugh and Desi joins in.

"That's wild, Aria and I just saw her and Trevor at Bobs together and she looked cozy with him" Desi says and I stare at her.

"Yea, she told me he asked her out and honestly good"

"Good? Like you're over him?"

"Desi... I don't think I am. Honestly. But, I do want him to be happy and I need to find myself"

"The whole dating two guys didn't work-out, huh?"

"Bruh, that shit fell through" I said and we both laugh.

"So Nico is out too?"

"Yea. Oh hell yea" I said and she stares at me.

"He was hot tho"

"And a lunatic but that's a different story. I mean I obviously don't want to go back to the old me. The hurt one, or I don't want to be this bad-ass me, I just want to be me, if that made sense"

"It does" she says and I smile at her.

"How do you stay my friend?"

"Because friends don't quit on each other even when they become dumb as fuck" she said and I laugh.

"Well, what's new with you? School? Grades? Guys? Professor Warren?"

"Bitchhhhhh... let me tell you" Desi says and I couldn't help to laugh. Desi filled me in on every detail that was going on with her and her social life. She told me Aria's drama and I was intrigued. I was missing all this fun because I was so lost in my own head. Geeze never again.

After our two-hour conversation Desi and I ordered pizza and sat in the living room watching the Avenger movies. Neither of us wanted the day to end so we stay snuggled up on the couch till about 4 in the morning.

The following morning, I woke up and popped more pills and Desi walks in the kitchen.

"Are you on your period?" she ask.

"Not right now. Why?"

"You've been eating those like candy. You good?" she says pouring some orange juice.

"Yea, my back just hurts, but I'm fine" I said and she smiles.

"Let me know if you have to go to the hospital" she says and I laugh. Sundays were our get back on-track with school days. Honestly... I didn't feel lost in my classes. I've just been busy skipping and that's all.

Week two on my journey to recovery was going fine. My back was finally getting better and I'm just going to have to face the fact that I will have a bruise on my back that will soon go away with time.

On Friday I was heading to Union to meet Desi and Aria for lunch. I was starving and I was feeling so much better.

"Miss. Camari" someone says and I turn around to see Professor Warren walking up to me. I smile at him as he comes to a stop. "You have a minute"

"I know what you're going to say" I start and he looks at me surprised. "I know, I was skipping your class a lot. But listen... I have the notebook and I've been working on it"

"You do remember I mentioned participation right?" he says.

"I was in class this past Monday" I said and he smiles at me.

"May I ask why you weren't coming to class?"

"I felt like it was a waste of time?" I said and he laughs.

"Tell me how you really feel?"

"I'm sorry"

"No, no. I want my students to be honest with me"

"I'm just not interested in the dating life right now. I tried it out and failed miserably. Maybe I'm meant to be single"

"See... I was like that before" he says.

"And what? You're now happily married with two kids?" I said and he laughs. I knew he was single because Desi told me but still.

"No, I'm still single" he says and I couldn't help to laugh. "The dating class is informational. Doesn't mean you have to take what I say and use it. But... since you're taking a break from the dating life and I know you're probably trying to find yourself?"

"Pretty much"

"Then you don't mind working towards some extra credit?"

"I guess I need it" I said and he smiles.

"Look out for an email from me and have a good weekend"

"Okay and you too" I said and Professor Warren turns around to walk away. I continue my way towards the Union and Desi waves me down. I went to sit down next to Aria and told them that Professor Warren stopped me and told me I can make up my participation points with extra credit.

"Ooo, I wonder what he'll make you do?" Aria says and we look at her.

"Probably write a paper" I said.

"No, he'll probably make you go on a date with him" she says and I laugh.

"I wish" I said when I felt someone sit down next to me. I look over as Nico sits so he's facing me and he moves closer to me.

"Hey babe" he said and I stare at him confused.

"Bro what the fuck?" I said and he looks at Desi and Aria.

"Ladies can you give us a minute?" he says.

"Sure, I want more fries" Aria says standing up and walking away.

"Cami, you good?" Desi says.

"Dude I'm coming" I said standing up and Nico grabs my arm. "Nico if you don't get off of me, I'll call my brother"

"Maybe I'll call him too. Tell him what I found out, you know... right before his big meeting with his company" he said and I stare at him. I sit down and look at Desi.

"I'll catch up" I said and Desi stares at me then walks away. I look over at Nico and he stares at me.

"I just want to talk"

"I don't want anything to do with you"

"Camari... I'm sorry" he says and I roll my eyes. "I didn't mean to... do what I did. I mean you caught me by surprise. How would you take it if you found out that the person you liked was screwing around with one of your friends?"

"Yes my immediate reaction is to slap them. Are we done?"

"Camari, I'm trying to apologize"

"And I'm trying to tell you that I'm not interested" I said looking at him and he stares at me.

"I'm here telling you I forgive you. And we can work on us"

"Are you serious? I didn't even ask for your forgiveness" I say staring at him. "Just leave me alone and I won't tell anyone" I said and he stares at me.

"Cami... I really am sorry" he says standing up. I watch him walk away and I roll my eyes to go throw away my trash. I hurry to meet up with Desi and she looks at me concerned.

"Everything okay?" Desi ask.

"Yea" I said. I had two more classes that day and I was excited to be back in my dorm. It was hot as hell outside and in the dorm we had the AC on full blast.

"What I would do to be in a pool right now" Aria says laying down on our floor and I laugh.

"Well Breenan did say that his building is having a block party tomorrow" Desi says and I look at you.

"You're talking to my brother?" I laugh.

"Well he posted it on his snapchat story and I messaged him and he said come thru"

"Her brother... like the hottie getting married?" Aria said.

"Yea" Desi answers.

"Oh I'm in" Aria said and they laugh.

"You guys have fun. I'll probably just relax" I said grabbing a water from the fridge.

"What? No Cam, you're coming" Desi says.

"I just don't really want to see... Trevor" I answer.

"He'll probably be too occupied with that Blake chick anyway" Aria says.

"Aria... shut up" Desi says and I laugh.

"No it's fine Desi" I said and Desi walks up to me.

"We don't have to go" she said.

"What? No! Guys please come on... I have a cute bikini that guys want to see, and I want to swim" Aria says.

"If Camari's not going, it's a no for me too. I'm not going to leave my girl"

"Ugh" Aria says.

"Desi..."

"It's fine, we can find other places to swim at" Desi says.

"For free?" Aria ask and we laugh.

"She's right... we can go. I'm being ridiculous" I said and Aria jumps up.

"Yay! Let me go shop for a new bikini" she says.

"I thought you said you had one"

"I lied" she said leaving and we laugh.

"Dude, we don't have to go" Desi says looking at me.

"I'll be fine" I said going to my bedroom. I close the door and went to take off my shirt. I turn around and look at the bruise on my shoulder. It's fine... I'll just wear a shirt.

That night all I could think about is my bruise. What if someone sees it? Why haven't I told anyone? I'm so embarrassed, I don't want anyone to know. I don't even want Breenan to find out. Who knows what he'll do. He also has this huge opportunity coming up and I don't want to ruin that for him. However, if Nico shows up again... I have no choice but to tell someone. He's psycho if he thinks I still want to be with him.

The following morning, I knew Aria was here already because she was singing at the top of her lungs. I roll my eyes and got out of bed and went to take a shower. By the time I was out, Desi and Aria were in the kitchen in their bikini's dancing to Cardi B.

"Can you hurry up? We won't have any seats" Aria says and I walk to my bedroom closing the door. I go pull out my white bikini top and slipped it on with my bikini bottoms. I grabbed a red shirt with NIKE written across it and slipped on my shorts. I threw some essentials in my bag and walk out my room.

"Okay, ready" I said.

"FINALLY!" Aria sings. We follow her out the dorm and down to her car and I go sit in the backseat. Aria blares her music loud and I stare out the window as we make our way to Breenan's apartment. I mean it's not that I don't want to see Trevor. I don't want to see him and Blake all close to one another. I mean... it wasn't any of my business and I told her it was okay but still.

We pull into the apartment complex and it was so packed we had to drive for a little to find someone to parked. We finally find a place and we we're walking, Aria was holding onto Desi and I and couldn't stop dancing. Her boobs bounce up and down and I'm surprise they weren't hitting her in the face.

"Here let's head up" Desi says and I look to see we were at Breenan's building.

"Wait... why don't we just head to the pool?"

"We're not residents, we need to go with your brother" Desi says and I follow them up to Breenan and Trevor's apartment. We knock on the door and it was already loud inside. Breenan opens the door with no shirt on but a beer in his hand.

"And you guys made it" Breenan says and we walk in.

"Not a surprise you're already drinking" I said and he laughs.

"Nia is getting dressed then we will walk over" Breenan says and we emerge in the living room.

"Hey girls" Blake says standing up from the couch. She was wearing a blue bikini top and a white skirt.

"Hey Blake" Desi says and I smile at her.

"And we start drinking... now" someone says. We turn around and Trevor was standing near us shirtless. He was wearing black trunks and were holding out three beers.

"Thanks" Aria says taking one.

"Thanks Trevor" Desi says taking one. I reach for mine until he snatches it back and I look at him.

"You don't drink beer Cami" he smirks and I stare at him. Why does it feel like I'm seeing him for the first time again? "I got you, something fruity" he says walking back to the kitchen. I watch as he pulls out a cooler and I roll my eyes. He walks back over to us and hands me the cooler.

"Thanks Trev..." I said and he laughs.

"Why are you still wearing a shirt?" Blake ask and I look at her. She would want to know.

"Not at the pool yet" I said and she smiles.

"You're right" she says.

"I'm ready" Nia says walking out the bathroom. She was wearing a dark green bikini and I was pretty sure she wasn't going to put on a cover-up.

"Damn baby" Breenan says kissing her neck.

"Tori will meet us there soon. But we can't stay for long, you know we have to leave"

"Yea, yea work stuff" Breenan says.

"I thought she lost her job?" I said and they look at me. Oh no. I didn't wanna cause anything but it just slipped out.

"Well... that's none of your business now is it?" Nia says staring at me.

"Alright, let's go" Breenan says. Nia stares at me and I roll my eyes and Desi laughs in my ear as we follow everyone out. Blake and Breenan were talking and Nia follows behind on her phone. Trevor follows behind them and we walk behind him. I jog up to Trevor and he looks over at me.

"Hey can we talk... real fast?" I ask.
