After the defeat of the dragon Smaug and reclaiming the throne of Erebor as his own, the King Under the Mountain, Thorin Oakenshield's next task is finding a suitable bride to rule at his side as Queen.
After seeing what is available to him amongst his own people, he looks further afield and ends up returning to Rivendell, where, much to his surprise, Lord Elrond agrees to the marriage of King Thorin and one of his people, the beautiful and mysterious Briella Roakenstaff, who hides a secret or two from the outside world, even from her own leader.
Will Thorin be able to break down the wall Briella has put around herself to protect against any further hurt to her heart or will he have to continue the search for the one to be Thorin's Bride?
