《Deal》She is gone

We were happy again. Life turns out to be peaceful and beautiful like Gurans. We were having breakfast when Zar entered. I knew what he came for.

"Amol," he said as he entered. We all got up out of respect for him but he showed his hand for us to sit. He sat on a chair in front of me and our new maid, Bindhya came with a plate of food for Zar. She was a vampire and young than us. Maybe in her late teen. She was very young so I had refused to give her any work but she insisted that she was 18+ and an adult. I wanted to refuse again but Rima asked me to take her in so I did. She was a very good cook. After we were done eating, we sat in the living room.

"I know why you are here," I said to Zar before he could speak and he smiled.

"The throne can't be left there without the king," Zar said and I nodded.

"I know,"

"Then what are you waiting for? He asked.

"I don't want to be the king...." I said and everyone looked at me at once. Gurans slowly placed her hand on mine and squeezed a little.

"When my parents are still alive,"

"They are no more vampires," Zar said.

"I had another thing going on my mind," I said changing the topic and Zar looked at me waiting for me to speak.

"I think that we need a more responsible person to sit on the throne which is obviously not me," I said and they gave me a confused look.

I sighed.

"I want Rima to sit on the throne and rule as a Queen," I said and nobody spoke. I looked at Gurans and she gave me that approving smile. I was happy that she was here with me, by my side.

"That's not possible, Amol," Rima said. "There is no person more fit for the throne or more cable of taking care of that crown and besides I am a Human,"

"You don't need to worry about you being a human, Rima. Zar had agreed to help you turn back into a Vampire," I said and Zar nodded at that.

"But I thought, I can't be a vampire again," she said looking at Zar.

"You can," Zar replied.

"I want you to think again about the throne, Amol. We all know that Rima can be a great queen. There isn't any question on that but you in my view can take care of it better, you have great vision." He tried to convince me.

"Amol, Zar is right. I won't be able to handle these responsibilities and I want to travel and enjoy my freedom not be stuck here looking after every single vampire,"

"Come on, Rima. You will do it better and you deserve to be the Queen,"

"I appreciate you saying that my big brother but no thanks," she said and we all laughed.

"But I still want you to think about it," I requested her.

"There is no need to think," she was determined.

I nodded in defeat.

"Will I ever be able to change back into a Vampire?" Gurans asked Zar and Zar looked at me.

"You can but it may take time," Zar replied.

"Time?"

"Recently I have taken the curse out of you so you may need to wait a few years before you can change back,"

"Oh," Gurans was disappointed by the answer.

I took her both hands in mine and looked her in the eyes.

"Why are you disappointed? You can enjoy your human self for a few more years and then turn back," I said.

"You don't want me to change?" She questioned.

"Of course, I want but not right now and I believe life wants the same," I tried to persuade her.

Thankfully she nodded in understanding.

For a few days, the preparation for the coronation went on. I was still not sure about it but Zar insisted that it was the right thing to do. It was not only good for the vampires but also for the other creatures that lived in the forest.

The Coronation day came and I was very nervous thinking about everything. I was in the throne room waiting for Gurans to come. We were in the palace where our parents used to live, the same palace which they got by deceit. I didn't want to come here and had talked to Zar about giving it back to whom it belonged but both Zar and Hunter refused it. All the wolves were there too for the Coronation.

As Gurans entered my breath hitched. She looked ravishing in the Red gown and even more beautiful with a smile on her face. I had talked to Zar about doing something so the vampires around us won't know about Gurans being a human. Everyone was eyeing us with surprise on their face. Nobody knew about her and those who knew were either dead or not here with us. I walked towards Gurans and forwarded my hand to her. She placed her hand on mine and I pulled her hand towards my lips and planted a soft kiss bowing my head.

I slowly looked at her.

"You look ....." I stopped. She was waiting for me to finish it.

"I am out of words," I said and she blushed.

We walked back to where the priests were. Before the ceremony started I looked around the vampires and started to speak. I know they were waiting for me to explain about Gurans and our marriage. I had never done this before but as I was about to be the king, I had to.

"I welcome and thank everyone who came for the ceremony," I said. I was really nervous and then I felt Gurans's hand on mine. I closed my eyes and sighed.

"You all must be wondering who she is or if she is the one I am getting married to in the future. The thing is She is my wife, Gurans, and the Queen. We married in a secret ceremony where only our families were present. It was very private and we thought of letting you all know when the right time comes so here it is today. Please, accept my wife as your Queen and me as your king," I said pressing my palms together in front of my chest, waiting for their response and in a second I heard them cheer and clap. I looked at Zar and he smiled nodding at me.

The ceremony started. The Priests started to read matra and A big crown was placed on my head. After that, they did the same to the Gurans. They asked us to sit on the throne and everyone kneeled down before us. The celebration began and we started to dance. I was more hugging Gurans than dancing. I felt calm and at peace having her near me. Even though my angry parents were out there I knew they won't be able to separate us again.

"I am very happy, my Queen," I said looking at Gurans.

"Me too," she said.

After dancing and getting lost in eachother for a while.

"Let's get out of here," I told Gurans.

"But won't they notice us not being here or see us leaving?" She asked.

"Who cares?" I said taking her hand and pulling her. We were out of the palace into the forest, laughing and running.

"I feel like a teenager, sneaking out of the house secretly with her lover at midnight," Gurans said.

"It's fun," I said.

We sat down under the tree, her head on my shoulder and our hands intertwined. It was chilly outside so I took out my coat and placed it on her shoulder.

"I was thinking that we should tell everything to Prarthi. I can't stay like this without telling her about everything. She has the right to know." She said looking at me.

I placed my hands on her cheeks.

"We will when next time we meet her," I said and she nodded. I couldn't stop myself from kissing her. I slowly pulled out and hugged her.

"I don't know how she will react,"

"She will understand,"

We sat there in silence. It was heaven to me, she being with me and we sitting alone under the tree, in the lap of nature. I heard some steps coming toward us and I was alert.

"Someone is here,"

"Must be Zar or Rima. They must be searching us," Gurans laughed but when the two figures stood in front of us we both knew that Gurans was wrong about it.

"Hello, my dear son, miss me?" My mother asked, a smirk on her face. I was ready to fight them but the other woman murmured something that threw me far away from Gurans and I was tied down on the ground, unable to move.

"Amol," Gurans said trying to come towards me but the woman hit her and she fainted. Both my mother and the woman came toward me and again the woman murmured something that made me pass out. I woke up and saw myself surrounded by everyone. I was in the palace and as I looked around me searching for Gurans, she wasn't there.

I looked at Zar. He wouldn't look at me or speak. Looked at everyone's faces and they had some kind of expression.

"Where are Gurans?" I asked them but nobody would speak.

"Will anybody speak?" I asked them.

"She is gone," Zar said not looking at me.

"What do you mean by she is gone?" I said even though deep down I knew what he was talking about.

"I couldn't save her. The witch was more powerful than me and they...." He didn't finish it. He wasn't looking at me.

"They what?" I asked him.

"I am sorry, Amol,"

"What?" I screamed.

"Killed.... her in front of ....me and took her body with them," he said and my body went numb realizing that I have lost her, lost her forever.
