《Deal》Intruder

The whole day, I stayed in the room, watching movies to get my mind off everything. I hate him. I hate him. I told myself time and again. It was already evening and I don't know when I got tired and fell asleep. The sound of someone trying to open the window woke me up. I hadn't closed the curtain so I saw the silhouette of a man and I got afraid. My heart started to beat faster and I couldn't move. I slowly got up and hid behind the couch.
I looked at that person and he jumped inside the room. I think he started to search for me. Who was he? Thankfully, outside the light was on and that helped me to see him. I was really scared. When he started to come closer to me, I screamed my lungs out. He stood there as if he could see me and in a matter of seconds he was out of my sight.
Suddenly, the door was opened with a loud thud, and the light was turned on. Another thing I did nicely was I didn't lock the door. I didn't even realize how fast the devil was beside me.
"That.. he ..thief..may," I couldn't say it properly.
"Hey. It's ok. I am here," he said pulling me to him and hugging me. I closed my eyes and hugged him. He rubbed my back and made a soothing sound. I opened my eyes and tried to stand up keeping space.
"Are you ok?" he asked and I nodded.
"Let's go then," he said holding my hand.
I stared at him. I didn't want to go but at the same time, I was scared to live alone in the room.
"But..."
"I don't want you to argue with me about this. From now on you are living in the same room as me and I mean it." He looked me in the eyes and said in a serious tone.

"Please," he said when I didn't move.
"For whatever reason, the deal was made, you are my wife," he said in a soft voice that would melt your heart.
Was he serious?
"Come," he said holding my hand and pulling me.
He wanted me to take a rest but I refused. After making me sit on the bed he went out and in a blink, he was back. After that, he didn't leave me alone for a second. He called someone probably a guard and told him to bring his files from the office and started to do his work in the room. I looked at the time and it was almost one am.
Does he work till this late? He seemed so focused on his work. He didn't bother to talk and neither did I.
"You can sleep. I am here. You don't need to worry," he said seeing me watch him but I didn't want to sleep. I got up and slowly went towards the window, taking slow steps, afraid the intruder was still there.
"Who was that person?" I asked him after some time.
"Must be a thief. Don't worry, it has already been taken care of," he said.
Taken care of? What does he mean by that?
I looked outside and then turned to look at him. I went and sat on the couch and turned on the TV. I would glance at him time and again to see if he was still there. I was afraid and bored at the same time. An idea came to my mind, lightly giggling I started to watch TV at full volume. He told me to lower it 2,3 times but when I didn't, I guess he felt defeated and stopped.
After some time, there was a knock on the door and I looked at him, my heart started to beat fast. He got up and opened the door. It was Tina, she had brought food. Oh yes, I slept without eating and I forgot I was hungry. She send me a smile and I smiled back.

"Goodnight," she whispered to both of us.
She then handed it to him and he closed the door. He came and sat beside me putting the tray on the table.
"I think you are hungry. Why don't you eat," he said in a soft voice. "You are safe, I am here," he said and went to do his work.
"Did you..." I wanted to ask him if he ate dinner.
"Yes," he said but I felt like he was lying.
"Um..." As I was about to speak he looked at me.
"I don't think I can finish it," I lied. He nodded at me and sat beside me. I don't know why but I felt a little nervous having him near me.
We ate in silence and I started to watch a movie while he went to do his work. After some time the devil came and sat beside me. I acted like he was not there and focused on tv but I couldn't so I got up and went to the bathroom. When I came back he was still watching the movie. I wanted to sleep but he was on the couch. I didn't want to sleep on the bed. I sat on the bed leaning on the headboard telling myself it was just for a minute or until he gets up from the couch.
I opened my eyes to find him so close. His arms snaked around my waist. I yelped when I saw how close we were. His face was near my neck. I could feel his breath. I thought I was closing my eyes for a minute and boom I woke up the next day to this? I patted his arms and he slowly opened his eyes. I glared at him and tried to keep space.
"Good morning, Maya," he said pulling me even closer
Maya? Is he serious?
( Maya means love in Nepali )
I tried to get out of his hold and he slowly let me go.
"You were already asleep so I didn't bother to wake you up, Budi," he said.
( Budi - wife in Nepali )
What with these names?
I didn't even want to talk cause I was so angry. First, he dared to sleep in the same bed and then those names. I am not his wife.
"It's your bed too," he said when I didn't say anything.
I rolled my eyes.
"How dare you call me by those names and this," I showed to our position "Who the hell do you think you are?" I closed my eyes to control my anger and then opened them but didn't bother to look at him.
"What on Earth don't you understand that I don't want to be anywhere near you," I said poking his chest.
"Calm down," he said slowly getting up.
"How can I calm down when you are fucking here? You took my fear as an opportunity, didn't you? I shouldn't have come here." I said about to get out of bed.
"Boka," I muttered.
He caught my wrist and pulled me towards him.
"Opportunity? You think I am that low?" He gritted his teeth.
I snatched my hand and saw a slight hurt in his eyes but he covered it up.
"You can choose your side and we can keep a pillow in the middle," he muttered. I got out of bed.
"and....." He stopped.
I raised a brow.
"I was thinking.... maybe we could be fr..friends," he said and I laughed.
"Friends?......With you?"
"Never," I said stop laughing.
"I know I made a deal...."
Without bothering to hear his nonsense, I went to the bathroom.
