Sagana sa takot ang aking kapaligiran,
Waring may problemang matagal ng pinapasan.
Hinahanap din kung sa buhay ay may katwiran,
Swerteng hinahanap sa gitna ng kamalasan.
Kaunting liwanag hanap-hanap sa gitna ng dilim.
Munting tala na magbibigay ning-ning sa makulimlim
na puso ay may lamang pag-aalinlangang malalim.
Tanging kislap lamang ang makakapagpurol sa talim.
Sanay na sa hirap ang kaluluwa kong ito,
Bawat dusa ay tinitiis ng pusong bato,
Gasgas na ang tuhod sa paggapang sa buhangin,
Kumakapa hanggang mawalan na ng paningin.
Ginising ako ng aking kaunting ulirat at namulat,
Isang kislap ng pag-asa ay nagbigay ng buhay.
Tumambad sa aking mga mata at sa puso ko ay gumulat,
Sa gitna ng dilim, mayroong liwanag na humahalay.
