Wattpad stories are more than just words; they can also contain pictures and videos to help the story come alive!

To be able to view media in a story, you must have a strong enough internet connection. You will see a grey box if the media has not been downloaded.

There are two types of media:

- header media: pictures and videos at the top of a story

- inline media: pictures and videos in the text of a story

Header Media:

Header Media appears at the top of a story part.

There is a limit of 2 pieces of media in the header: 2 photos/gifs or 1 photo/gif & 1 video.

The number of dots under the image shows if there is more than one piece of media there. On the apps, swipe left to see the other photo/gif or video. On the web, click on the other dot.

Tapping on the image will enlarge it. From here you can also swipe left or right to other media attached within the story in fullscreen.

Youtube media can be viewed by simply tapping the play button. Youtube videos will begin to play natively within the Wattpad app.

Inline Media:

Inline media are photos, gifs and videos in the story text. There is a limit to 20 photos/gifs or videos in the text per story part.

Tapping/clicking on an image will enlarge it; tapping/clicking on a video will start the video.
