《Guides for Readers》New Library/How can I read stories offline?
We're excited to update you about the launch of a new Library experience.
The new Library experience enables users to:
- Choose which stories they wish to store to their device for offline reading
- Add and remove stories from their offline list directly from the Library
- View their offline limit and whether a story is available offline or online
Now, users can dive into their favorite Wattpad reads without worrying about internet connectivity or its associated charges as it helps users manage their device storage, by preventing the app from automatically saving all the stories in their Library on to their device. By giving users control over which stories they want to store for offline reading, we hope to create a more efficient Library management experience, while optimizing performance.
Note that Paid Stories in users' Libraries do not count towards the offline limit.
The new Library experience / Offline feature will be slowly rolling out to all Wattpadders, and over the course of the coming weeks, each one of you will eventually see this update. This new experience was designed and built for you—the members of our diverse, creative, and passionate community—and we can't wait for you to explore it for yourselves.
To read offline on your device, you must login and sync your library while you have an internet connection. Please wait until your library has fully downloaded.
To make sure the download is completed, check to see if the story covers are no longer faded. Once all of your stories have a bright cover, you will be able to read them when you are without internet.
It's unfortunately not possible to read stories offline on the web.
To add a story to your offline list, you can visit your Library and tap the download icon followed by "Add to Offline List" where the story is listed. You must be connected to the internet to add a story to your offline list.
To remove a story, go to your Library and tap the downloaded icon next to the story you wish to remove, followed by "Remove from Offline List".

Eldritch
Dreams.I never thought much about them.Mostly for the point that I could never remember any of mine. And the bits and pieces that remain would never make sense. This is what dreams are like after all.Just some random mix, thrown together by an unstable mind to get over the stuff which bothered one during the day.At least that's what I thought.Until they turned against me.Twisted everything I knew and turned my whole existence into a nightmare. But the thing is... It's mine.
8 174The Ascendant: Endless Reincarnation
My name is Richard Brooks. I died while saving a kid. Kicking the bucket at 28 was really depressing, you know? There’s so much I still wanted to do. But instead of passing on, I was thrust into an endless series of reincarnations. Whenever I die, I earn Karma points based on my achievements and growth. These points can be exchanged for weapons, spells, or other bonuses to make my next lives more interesting. “What kills me only makes me stronger!” Or something like that. Honestly, it feels like I’m stuck in an RPG. The difficulty setting can be pretty ridiculous too. Sometimes all I can do is grit my teeth in frustration as I die an ignoble death. But I won’t complain. Even when it’s dangerous and painful, I love life. This is all an opportunity; I’ll do my best, no matter what kind of sadistic fate the System throws at me. I will swing the warhammer of justice! Craft and enhance the most amazing artifacts! Overwhelm opponents with a barrage of auto-casting spells! Lead powerful vassals in Domain wars! All for the sake of creating an eternal sanctuary. With my unique power of Runecrafting, maybe I’ll even become strong enough one day to overturn fate… or at least find out what the hell is really going on. It might take a few hundred or a thousand lifetimes, but what’s the rush? I have all the time in the world now. (Note: R15+ This is the work of a very inexperienced author with a full time job. Please expect an erratic release schedule.)

8 54The Unforgiving World
The year is 2032, disappearances had started a month ago, nobody noticed at first as most of the disappearances had occurred all over the world. However after the children of the people in power started vanishing, people started looking into the disappearances. The blame was focused entirely on China who had greatly rose in power, however nobody cared to check to see if China's civilians were also vanishing. After around 900 people had disappeared off the face of the earth, countries stopped blaming China and looked for alternatives for the reason why. Our Protagonist Gabriel L. Novak has just become one of those who disappeared.
